AIDA64 Extreme — free license

Free license for the AIDA64 Extreme program that provides detailed information about the components of a computer or laptop running the Windows operating system, shows temperature from sensors and performs stress testing of components.

AIDA64 Extreme displays detailed information about installed Windows software, offers diagnostic functions, overclocking monitoring of computer or laptop components, shows the actual voltage, frequency of the processor, video card and RAM.

The program performs stress testing, measures performance, displays the temperature of the components and the speed of the fans. Monitors sensors in real time, collects accurate voltage, temperature and fan speed readings, while diagnostic features help detect and prevent hardware problems.

AIDA64 Extreme offers several tests to measure the performance of individual hardware components or the entire system. The tool provides over 50 pages of hardware configuration information and over fifty installed programs, software licenses, security applications, and Windows settings.

Detailed information about the CPU, motherboard, RAM modules, video card, hard drive, SSD, sound and network card.
The program features allow you to test individual components of a computer or laptop.

When passing the system stability test, AIDA64 Extreme uses a 64-bit multi-threaded stress test module to push the computer to its absolute limits. Stress testing of the hard drive, SSD drive and installed graphics card is also available.

After testing is completed, users of a computer or laptop can view detailed statistics and draw appropriate conclusions.

Another interesting feature of the AIDA64 Extreme program is Benchmark, which allows you to check the speed of reading / writing / copying RAM on the fly, identify processor and RAM cache delays.

How to use AIDA64: tests and other features

AIDA64 is a program for testing system stability, identifying hardware and software components from under Windows. From 2004 to 2010, the utility was called Everest, owned by Lavalys, after FinalWire Ltd. became the owner. The program was named AIDA64.

Stress test or how to view the temperature of the processor, hard drive, video card

To find out the temperature of the components, in the AIDA64 interface at the top, click on the icon in the form of a diagram — System Stability Test , as shown in the picture.

In a new window, in the upper chart, by default, you will see the temperature of your processor and HDD/SSD in Celsius. The bottom chart shows the CPU load in percent.

To test the desired computer component, you must check the box next to it. Tests are available for the processor, FPU, cache, RAM, hard drive and video card. Then click on the Start button at the bottom.

In the first graph, you can monitor the temperature rise of the specified components that have sensors. The normal temperature of the processor is up to 75 degrees, tolerable up to 80, if more, then cleaning the CPU cooling system and replacing thermoelements (thermal paste, thermal pad) is required. Temperatures up to 45°C are normal for a hard drive.

Sometimes when the processor overheats, a red inscription may appear in the lower diagram — “CPU throttling overheating detected”. This inscription indicates that the processor began to work skipping cycles, thereby greatly reducing performance. This problem will disappear after the correction of defects with cooling.

If you decide to end the stress test of the processor and other components, then click the Stop button, after which you can close the window.

Max Read Access

Cache and memory test

After selecting the memory and cache test, you just need to click on the Start Benchmark button and wait for the end.

The test allows you to measure the speed in RAM and processor cache. Measurement takes place according to four criteria:

Read — reading
Write — writing
Copy — copying
Latency — delay

RAM in the program is listed as Memory, Level 1 Cache as L1 Cache, Level 2 Cache as L2 Cache, Level 3 Cache as L3 Cache — it is absent in AMD processors and present in Intel.

GPGPU test (video cards)

The video card test process is similar to the previous one, after opening the window, click the Start Benchmark button and wait for it to complete.

I think there is no need to decipher anything here, in general, everything is clear. In the window you will see the speed of reading, writing, copying video memory. Since the integrated video card was tested, the video memory is used from the RAM, hence the similarity of the numbers with the previous RAM test.

Monitor Diagnostics

In AIDA64, in the «Service» tab, there is also a function to check the integrity of the LCD screen, if there are dead pixels or colors are not transmitted correctly, you can see them during the test. To run diagnostics, press the Auto Run Selected Test or Run Selected Test button, however, in the second mode, you will have to scroll manually using the right / left / up / down arrows on the keyboard.

Identification of the hardware and software of the computer

Information about the PC hardware: brief characteristics of the CPU, chipset, RAM, video cards, sound cards, storage devices, input, network and peripheral devices, laptop or computer model.

I will briefly go over the useful categories of the AIDA64 program, and skip the less popular ones.

Sensors . Path: Computer — Sensors . The tab shows the temperature of the central processor, graphics processor (video card), motherboard, power supply voltage on the 3.3, 5, 12 volt line. To check the power supply, or rather the voltage drop, you need to run a stress test in parallel, at which point the hardware will begin to consume more energy. The norm in deviation is 5% of each declared line, that is, for 12v, a deviation of 0.6 volts may be the norm. Unfortunately AIDA64 does not always show the voltage correctly, apparently due to the lack of sensors on some motherboards.

CPU . Full information about the CPU can be viewed by opening Motherboard — CPU : name, frequency, number of cores, cache size, etc.
