Selecting the Right Processor for Your Trading PC

The most important decision you’ll make in purchasing a new trading computer is selecting the processor. Just selecting the most expensive processor might not be the right decision. There are 2 factors to consider when selecting a processor — the operating speed and the number of cores. Better single thread performance is beneficial for certain programs such as NinjaTrader 7, ThinkorSwim, etc. Programs such as TradeStation, eSignal or NinjaTrader 8 will benefit from faster multi thread processors.

The platform/chipset will also affect overall system performance. The new Intel Z690 platform now supports DDR5 memory and can be found in our Trader 9000 Elite and Trader 9000 Extreme trading computer models. DDR5 is relatively new and a bit more expensive along with ASUS DDR5 motherboards.
