A few nights ago I was playing a game for an hour and went to bed. After work the next day I turned my PC on and it booted correctly, but my monitor (ASUS VG248QE) said «DisplayPort — No Signal» on it. My TV is also plugged into the GPU via HDMI and it works fine. When I unplug the HDMI from my GPU (MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming 4G), my monitor detects DisplayPort again and begins working. My monitor also works when using HDMI from the GPU.

As I said above, this issue only occurs when plugging a secondary monitor into the HDMI on my GPU. As soon as the HDMI is unplugged, my monitor can detect DisplayPort again.
I called ASUS and they insist that my monitor is defective, which I have ruled out by using it on my friend’s PC.
I have found hundreds of people posting with the same issue online and many of them have never found a fix. I have tried every fix that I’ve come across and nothing has worked.
I would like to try update the vBIOS on my GPU but haven’t found a source for the latest version.
I have read multiple forums online of people that have tried formatting Windows and it hasn’t helped. I would like to avoid this method if possible as it would be a lot of work for what seems like an unsuccessful method.
Any tips or advice would be GREATLY appreciated as I have easily spent over 20 hours trying to resolve this!

1. Disconnect and reconnect the DisplayPort cable.
