Frame Warranty

1 Year Manufacturer Warranty

All of the frames that we carry come with a 1-year manufacturer warranty.  This one-time warranty repair or exchange is available from the original manufacturer and affirms the authenticity of our inventory. The frame warranty covers manufacturing defects but not damage induced by the wearer or due to excessive conditions such as heat, moisture, breakage, etc. There is no scratch warranty on sunglass lenses. The original frame must be returned, prior to a warranty replacement and/or store credit is issued. If a frame can not be returned the warranty will be considered null/void.

Some examples of what is not covered under warranty:  damage caused using inappropriate cleaning solution, breakage caused from excessive force.

To initiate a warranty claim, please contact our customer service department and one of our representatives will be happy to assist you. A detailed description of when and how the damage occurred, along with photos of the frame are required in order to submit your claim. Final determination of eligibilty can only be made once the item is returned and processed by our Warranty Department. We are unable to provide a replacement frame or lenses prior to receiving the original pair.

If your product is covered under warranty you will be required to cover the shipping charges to ship your item to our office for us to proceed with the warranty claim.  We will either repair or replace the defective frames(s) at our discretion.  If the frame is no longer available, you will be offered store credit on an item of lesser or equal value. Refunds are not offered on warranties. Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing to be complete.

2 Year Extended Warranty

The extended warranty is offered for $24. 95 and must be purchased along with the frame.  This one-time warranty covers the same exact defects as the original manufacturer warranty, however instead of 1 year, the warranty is in effect for 1 additional year for a total of 2 years of coverage.

Please refer to the steps mentioned in the 1-year warranty to initiate a warranty claim.

We will ship all replacement items to the address on file with signature, unless otherwise requested (and approved) at the time of the claim.  All request must be submitted via email to [email protected]. If the new shipping address is not approved store credit will be issued for you to repurchase with the new address.

Lenses Warranty

1 Year Lenses Warranty*

We offer a 1-year warranty against manufacturer defect on prescription/custom lenses that you purchase along with your frame. This warranty covers all lens types except for plastic lenses.  Due to the fragile nature of plastic lenses, we are not able to offer a warranty for this material.

*Orders that purchase with the Free Single Vision Polycarbonate lenses do not qualify under the warranty replacement. Please contact customer service at [email protected] to discuss a discounted price to have the lenses redone.

Examples of what may be covered under manufacturer defect: peeling of the coating, discoloration of the lenses not caused by normal wear and tear or cleaning solutions.

Examples not covered under manufacturer defect: scratches, damaged caused from excessive force, etc.

To initiate a warranty claim, please contact our customer service department and one of our representatives will be happy to assist you. If your lenses are covered under warranty you will be required to cover the shipping charges to ship your item to our office for us to proceed with the warranty claim.  Please allow 2-3 weeks for processing to be complete.

*If your order does not qualify under warranty repair/replacement, we are happy to offer you a discount on new lenses. Please contact our customer service department and one of our representatives will be happy to provide you with a quote.

About

In 1856 Thomas Burberry, a draper from Basingstoke, began his namesake brand. The manufacturing of outwear was the field he focused on and on which he succeeded.

Due to his craftsmanship by the beginning of the 1870s Burberry’s store became one of the best not only among local residents but in adjacent cities as well. Soon after, in 1879, Burberry went on to create gabardine, which solidified his reputation even more.

This invention allowed him to make the revolution in rainwear as the unique material he patented soon was amazingly good to withstand the onslaught of winds, rains, thorny plants and resistant to any weather. The innovation material very quickly replaced the old heavy and uncomfortable materials used in manufacturing of waterproof clothing. Gabardine got its name in honor of a quiet place described by Shakespeare, in which anyone could hide from the weather.

The Gabardine Collection – Burberry Eyewear S/S15

Based in London, under the creative direction of Riccardo Tisci, Burberry is the world-known fashion house under which luxury clothes, accessories, and perfumes are produced. It belongs to the British company Burberry Group Plc. Today several lines of men’s and women’s clothing, kids collection, underwear, accessories and perfumes are produced under the Burberry brand.

Lens Types

Single Vision Typically used for distance vision correction or near vision (reading glasses)
Bifocals Used for distance and reading correction. The most popular are Flat Top 28 or FT Top 35 or RD 24. It is easily recognizable by visible lined bifocal segment.
Trifocals Used for distance, intermediate and near vision correction. The most popular are FT 7×28 or FT 8×35. It looks like bifocal but the reading segment has an additional line that separates the intermediate and near vision power.
Digital Progressive Digital Progressive also called no-line bifocal. Lenses provide a smooth transition from distance through intermediate to near reading correction.

Lens Materials

Plastic CR-39 Plastic CR-39 lenses are currently the most prescribed lens material; low cost, and high optical quality.
Polycarbonate Polycarbonate lenses are thinner than standard plastic lenses and are impact resistant. Recommended for babies, toddles and children. Good choice for sports and safety eyewear.
Trivex Trivex is a relatively new material that is similar to polycarbonate lenses but with higher quality optics. It is the lightest prescription lens material. Trivex is a better choice for rimless or drill mount frames. Trivex is just as impact resistant as polycarbonate and may also be prescribed for children’s lenses, sports lenses, and safety lenses.
High Index 1.6 Thin and comfortable. 30% thinner than standard lenses and good optical characteristics. Suitable for rimless and semi rimless frames. For every sight defect. For people looking for aesthetic lenses.
High Index 1.67 Very thin lenses. 35% thinner than standard lenses Recommended for any correction and any type of frame. Suggested for people interested in elegance, fashion and modern products.
High Index 1.74 The flat and the thinnest organic lens on the market, ideal for all vision correction. Over 45% thinner than CR-39 lenses and 3 times lighter than glass lenses. Especially recommended for people with high power prescription and for users looking for the ultimate aesthetics.
Transitions Transitions lenses are perfectly transparent inside and darken outside under the influence of UV radiation from the sun in just 30 seconds. Returning to an inside they become clear in just a few minutes. They provide full protection of the eyes against sunlight. Transitions lenses don’t get dark in the car.
Polarized Polarized lenses eliminate screen light, horizontal reflections and glare. Significantly improves the quality of vision and provides effective protection even during prolonged exposure to sun light. Lenses good for drivers, cyclists, sailors, skiers, fishermen and people in the sun.

Lens Coatings

Blue Blocker It is a new generation lens coating that combats eye fatigue by reducing exposure to blue light from smartphones, tablets, computer screens, TVs, energy-saving lighting and the sun.
Anti-reflective Coating Reduces light reflections appearing on both sides of the lens because they eliminate over 98% of lens reflections. It significantly improves the quality of vision and the aesthetics of your glasses.
UV Filter The UV filter blocks ultraviolet radiation, thus providing full eye protection. 100% protection guaranty against adverse effects of exposure to sunlight.
Tint Tint provides screen against bright light. Eyeglass lens colors are just a matter of taste. The optical market is full of sunglasses with lenses of different colors. The color, density and tint type (solid or gradient) is base on individual preference.

The adoption of the 65 nm process technology and the release of the Brisbane core with a fractional multiplier turned out to be very important steps for AMD. This made it possible not only to maintain the lineup unchanged by reducing the power consumption of processors, but also to launch dual-core processors with an incredibly low thermal package of 45 W, overtaking Intel in this race (Pentium Dual-Core have a TDP of 65 W). At the same time, the new processors also lost their usual performance rating markings, and received new distinctive model numbers starting with BE-. Such a step, first of all, allows us to distinguish economical processors from the model range and draw attention to them, because architecturally these are the same Athlon 64 X2. Also, AMD decided to no longer remind about the 64-bit nature of all its processors, removing this suffix from the name.

So far, there are only two models of «updated» AMD processors with a TDP of 45 W on sale, these are the Athlon X2 BE-2300 and Athlon X2 BE-2350, which differ only in clock speeds of 1.9 and 2.1 GHz, respectively. Let’s start exploring the capabilities of the older model.

although AMD has promised not to focus on it anymore), 45W power rating, model stickers, and barcodes.

The kit hasn’t changed much — processor, cooler, certificate and sticker. But this is the first time we see such a cooler taken out of this box — a very simple model AV-Z7LB01B001, apparently manufactured by AMD itself, consisting of an aluminum heatsink and a «traditional» medium-noise fan.

The Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor is marked ADh3350IAA5DD, which stands for: ADH — AMD Athlon X2 processor for workstations with a reduced TDP of up to 45 W, 2350 — processor model number (not a rating, as in the Athlon series 64), I — package type 940 pin OµPGA (Socket AM2), A — core supply voltage 1.25 V, A — maximum allowable temperature of the case is not indicated and can be in the range of 55-78 ° C (the maximum value of the limit is often taken as relevant ), 5 – total L2 cache size 1024 KB (512 KB per core), DD – Brisbane core (65 nm manufacturing process).

In confirmation of the above, almost everything about the processor is compactly presented by the CPU-Z utility.

Not the most pleasant feature of the processor is that due to the increase in clock frequency, the memory divider has also increased. Thus, the most common and promising DDR2-800 modules with this processor will be able to work only as DDR2-700, which will affect the performance in many, primarily gaming, tasks.

Note that with the latest official BIOS version for ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe, the processor started working, but the system could not correctly identify it. And after flashing the latest beta-version of the BIOS, the motherboard recognized the processor, but, despite the stable operation of the system, there is no certainty in the complete correctness of the test results.

The Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor, which came to us for testing, almost conquered the 3.0 GHz milestone, repeating the result of its 65 W «brother» Athlon 64 X2 4000+, tested earlier, with an accuracy of 1 MHz. The final overclocking was 2992 MHz, which is almost 43% higher than the nominal value. At the same time, the RAM was also overclocked to the level of DDR2-855.

How overclocking affected performance, let’s present it in the form of a table.

AMD started AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 sales in October 2007. This is Brisbane architecture desktop processor primarily aimed at office systems. It has 2 cores and 2 threads and is manufactured using 65 nm process technology, the maximum frequency is 2.1 GHz, the multiplier is locked.

In terms of compatibility, this is an AMD Socket AM2 processor with a TDP of 45W.

It provides a weak benchmark performance of 2.34% of the leader, which is AMD EPYC 7742. 2350 and AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300. The announcement took place a little earlier, but it was up to this moment that we were asked not to publish the results. The new processors differ from their predecessors in characteristics and markings, I propose to start studying them with a new notation.

The rating system for designating processors not by clock frequency, but by some conditional indexes with «pluses», introduced by AMD for Athlon XP processors of the K7 generation, once caused a lot of controversy. However, despite all the imperfection and conventionality of the methods for distributing rating numbers, now, after the lapse of time, it is worth recognizing that it has played its positive role. For inexperienced users who habitually associate high performance with high processor clock speeds, it showed that low-frequency AMD processors are quite comparable in speed to higher-frequency Intel processors. The system played its positive role for processors of the K8 family, but by now its capabilities are no longer enough, moreover, it incorrectly reflects the current alignment of forces.

The fact that the capabilities of the system used are exhausted is at least the fact that when trying to find out the capabilities of the AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ , AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4000+ processors, we get completely different data, with markedly different characteristics. In addition, at equal or close frequencies, AMD processors noticeably lose to processors of the Core microarchitecture, so after the index it is appropriate to put a minus, not a plus, and the indices themselves should be reduced, which is unacceptable for marketing reasons. Therefore, it is quite logical that AMD decided to reconsider the principles and methods by which processors were named.

      advertisement

The first digit after the dash in the name of BE- 2 350 indicates the series to which the processor belongs. The 2xxx series processors currently include AMD’s dual-core Athlon X2 family. Please note that the numbers 64 have disappeared from the AMD Athlon 64 X2 name. AMD was the first to develop and implement x86-64 technology in its processors, its priority in this area is not disputed by anyone. By now, absolutely all AMD processors are released with 64-bit support, so there is no need to mention this every time. In addition, a shorter name makes it easier to write, remember, and recognize.

The last three digits of BE-2 350 indicate the relative position of the processor in the series. A higher number means superior performance, such as frequency or cache size.

Thus, from now on, when you see the name Athlon X2 BE-2350, you can immediately understand that this is a mid-range desktop processor. You also know that its power consumption is below 65W. You know that the processor belongs to the AMD Athlon X2 family. And you understand its place among similar processors, that, for example, it is better than AMD Athlon X2 BE-2300, but weaker than AMD Athlon X2 BE-2400.

The new notation looks unusual at first, and besides, we have nothing to compare with yet. We can only assume that the letter B means Base or Basic — the main one, if we remember that the new Sempron processors will be designated LE-1xxx ( L — Low?). The letter E probably means Economical — economical. However, it is obvious that the new system is more convenient and progressive. At least, the situation described above will not arise when completely different processors appear under the same name. All new processors will receive a new naming convention, however already announced processors will not be renamed. They will retain their old names, in accordance with the former notation.

      advertising

I would like to draw your attention to the fact that all of the above about the new notation is not a surprise for readers of Overclockers. ru. This is just an official confirmation of the information about the change in the rating of processors, which we have known since the beginning of May. Later, we managed to get acquainted with a photo and a screenshot of the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor, and today we have the opportunity to test it in operation.

Our test processor looks exactly like the photo. Its first line of marking ADh3350IAA5DD, the second line AAAKG 0713TPAW says that the processor was released on the 13th week of 2007, that is, on the last week of March. The processor is made in Germany using 65 nm technology, assembled in Malaysia, it operates at a frequency of 2.1 GHz (200 * 10.5) and each of its two cores is equipped with 512 KB of L2 cache.

The current version of the CPU-Z utility, like Everest CPUID, cannot yet tell us the name of the core, and the CoreTemp utility cannot even read the name of the processor, but it determines the revision of the core — BH-G1.

In other words, this is the well-known 65 nm Brisbane G1 stepping core and such a processor could well be called Athlon 64 X2 4000+, but there is an important difference — the power consumption of the new processor does not exceed 45 W. This is achieved by reducing the nominal voltage at which the processor operates, it is only 1.15 V.

      Energy saving technologies:
      • Minimum frequency: 1.0 GHz
      • nominal voltage: 1.10V
      • maximum power consumption: 27.7 W
      • maximum current: 22.5 A

When the Cool’n’Quiet power saving technology is running, the voltage is reduced to 1.1 V, the multiplier is reduced to x5, and the processor power consumption is reduced to 27.7 W.

In fact, despite the novelty, we can say that we already know everything about the new processors. In the article «AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ in a new way: AMD introduces 65 nm technology» the features and performance level of 65 nm AMD processors were considered in detail, and not all innovations made us happy. First, processors with 2 MB of L2 cache have disappeared compared to 90 nm Windsor cores. Secondly, even at equal frequencies, new processors lose in performance to old ones due to the increased latency of the L2 cache. And, thirdly, due to the appearance of fractional multiplication factors, the real frequency of memory operation is usually less than the desired one. For example, the x10.5 multiplier of the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor is one of the most unsuccessful, when the memory is set in the BIOS as DDR2 800, in reality it operates at a frequency of 700 MHz.

All of the above factors are not in favor of 65 nm AMD processors, which are inferior to their 90 nm counterparts. The only advantage is the reduced cost, which allowed to reduce retail prices and lower power consumption of new processors. If we look at the new processors from the point of view of overclockers, then the reduced power consumption achieved by reducing the nominal voltage does not lead to an increase in the overclocking potential of the processors. This was clearly shown in the article «AMD responds to Conroe: Energy Efficient Athlon 64 X2 processors», but we will still try to overclock the new AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350.

      advertisement

The overclocking test of the processor was carried out using an open test bench with the following configuration:

      • Motherboard — Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe (NVIDIA nForce 590 SLI), rev 1.03G;
      • Memory — 2×1024 MB Corsair Dominator TWIN2X2048-9136C5D;
      • Video card — NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS 320 MB;
      • Hard Drive — Maxtor DiamondMax 10 6L200M0, SATA 200 GB;
      • Cooling system — Zalman CNPS9700 LED;
      • Thermal grease — KPT-8;
      • Power supply — OCZ GameXStream GXS700 (700 W).

With the old BIOS version 0903, the Asus M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard started up and set the correct voltage for the processor, but could not detect it correctly. After updating to the latest version 1004 at the time of testing, this problem was fixed.

By reducing the frequency of the memory and HyperTransport bus, we quickly managed to determine the limit of stable operation of the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor at nominal voltage — it turned out to be a clock generator frequency of 250 MHz.

      advertising

Only during overclocking, by setting the maximum possible divider for the memory, it was possible to increase its frequency to 875 MHz.

Unfortunately, trying to increase the Vcore voltage to reach new heights in overclocking resulted in the motherboard refusing to start. Probably, we should wait for new BIOS versions in order to fully unleash the potential of new processors. In spite of everything, the performance of the processor at a frequency exceeding 2.6 GHz at such a low voltage of 1.15 V is a very remarkable fact. Even single-core processors, even when the voltage was increased, did not always achieve such results, so our overclocking experiment can be considered successful.

      advertisement

In the already mentioned article «AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+ in a new way: AMD introduces 65 nm technology» we tested the power consumption of processors and the results were unexpected. AMD processors, even the older 90 nm ones, consume less power at rest, but the Core 2 Duo turned out to be more economical under load. Has the situation changed since the introduction of the new 45-watt AMD processors?

Using the Extech Power Analyzer 380803, the power consumption of the above test system with an AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor was measured at rest, with Cool’n’Quiet technology, and under 100% load by the FPU test of the S&M 1.9 utility.0a. For comparison, we took an Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 processor (1.86 GHz, FSB 266 MHz, rev. B2, 1.325 V) running in a system with an Asus P5K (Intel P35) motherboard. Otherwise, the test benches did not differ, and the load on the Intel processor was carried out using the Intel Thermal Analysis Tool (TAT), since it loads the CPU more.

Perhaps a graph would be more visual than a diagram.

      advertisement

As you can see, with the advent of more economical AMD processors, the situation has generally remained the same. At rest, a system with an AMD processor, reduced to 1 GHz and voltage to 1.1 V, consumes 126 W versus 140 W for a system with an Intel processor, which reduced its frequency from 1.86 to only 1.6 GHz. However, under load, they change places and the system with the Core 2 Duo processor is more economical.

By the way, Intel has long known the problem with the relatively high consumption of processors of the Core microarchitecture at rest, in connection with which processors of L2 and modified B2 steppings appeared just as long ago, where the consumption at rest is reduced from 22 to 12 W, and now new ones are being prepared revisions, where it will be reduced from 12 to 8 (!) W. So there’s a good chance that the new Intel processors will be able to equal or even overtake AMD processors in terms of energy savings at rest. However, this information is only indirectly related to the considered AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor.

Comparing systems during overclocking is not entirely correct, since the main contribution to the increase in power consumption is made by an increase in voltage, and it did not change for the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor. Therefore, we only note that the consumption of a system with an AMD processor overclocked to 2.6 GHz increased to 183 W, while an Intel processor with a voltage increased to 1.45 V easily exceeded 200.

      advertising

fundamentally new, except for marking, the new processors do not demonstrate. There were dual-core processors in the AMD product range with even lower power consumption — only 35 watts. They were sold more expensive than usual, the range and maximum frequencies were also small, but it is surprising that such an impressive achievement was obtained within the framework of the old 90 nm process technology. So the transition to mass production of 45-watt processors is, of course, very good, but not at all surprising, one might say naturally.

The obtained overclocking of the AMD Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor up to 2.6 GHz is not a record, but still it is not the final result. Now the overclocking of new processors is limited not by their overclocking potential, but by the capabilities of motherboards that do not fully support them. In addition, it should be understood that by overclocking new processors, we go against the intentions of AMD, which sought to reduce their power consumption. Considering that new processors are still unable to compete with competitors in terms of performance during overclocking, as our recent article «Pentium E2160 in nominal and overclocked» clearly showed, they are primarily intended not for overclocking, but for creating quiet and economical systems. .

There is another interesting point. Throughout the review, we emphasized that, with the exception of reduced power consumption, the new 65 nm processors are no different from the old ones, they even have the same core stepping. However, there are some differences from the Brisbane core, which can be seen if you carefully study the technical specifications of the new processors that were provided to us. Compared to Brisbane, the core area has decreased from 126 to 118 mm², it may have been redesigned, but why didn’t the stepping or CPUID change then? Weird. Even stranger, despite the reduction in area, the number of transistors has increased from 153.8 million to 221 million. This number is closer to the number of transistors in a Windsor core equipped with 2 x 1024 KB L2 cache (227.4 million). Does this mean that in the new kernel part of the cache is disabled for the time being? I remember that AMD representatives explained the increased cache latency of the Brisbane cores as preparations for increasing the cache size. One would assume that in the future we will see the return of dual-core AMD processors with 2 MB of L2 memory, but such processors are not in the AMD roadmaps known to us. So what caused the decrease in core area and the increase in the number of transistors in new processors? Or is it just a mistake in the specifications provided to us? So far, we do not know the answers to these questions.

      Overall performance rating

The overall rating can be calculated by the formula, taking into account all the data: test results in all programs, release year, socket, structure, instructions, base frequency, temperature, number of cores, threads, auto-overclocking technology, and other indicators. The results of the overall rating showed that the Xeon E5503 processor is not much superior to its rival Athlon X2 BE-2350. The Athlon X2 BE-2350 processor itself managed to score 831.44 points, slightly outperforming its competitor.

      PassMark CPU Mark

Perhaps the most famous benchmark tester on the Internet. The benchmark has a wide pool of tools for a large-scale assessment of PC performance, in particular the CPU. Among them are floating point calculations, game physics calculations, compression, encryption, extended instruction checking, integer calculations, single-threaded and multi-threaded tests. At the same time, it is possible to compare the results obtained with the rest of the configurations in the common database. Almost all CPUs presented on our website have been tested in PassMark. Performance Test showed a clear advantage of the Xeon E5503 processor (804 points) over the Athlon X2 BE-2350 (591 point). The Athlon X2 BE-2350 with a score of 591 clearly loses in this test.

      Cinebench 10 (32 bit) Single-threaded test

The test is performed on Mac OS X, Windows operating systems. The basic mode of passing tests for speed is multi-level reflections, working with light, imitation of global illumination, spatial light sources, photorealistic rendering of a 3D scene, and procedural shaders. The ray tracing method is used. This benchmark for testing processors and video cards is currently out of date. Released by MAXON, and based on the Cinema 4D 3D editor. Single-Thread in its test uses only one core and one thread for rendering. It is possible to test many processor systems.

      Cinebench 10 (32 bit) Multi-thread test

Multi Core version is another way to test in Cinebench R10, which already uses multi-thread and multi-core test mode. It is important to consider that the number of threads in this version is limited to 16.

      Cinebench 11.5 (64-bit) Multi-threaded test

Multi-threaded version of the CINEBENCH R11.5 test — which can load the CPU at 100 percent using all threads and cores. Differs from previous versions, 64 threads are used here. Testing Xeon E5503 in Cinebench version R11.5 gave 1.17 points, which indicates a higher performance of this model. While the Athlon X2 BE-2350 scores 0.68, it is way behind its rival in this test.

      Cinebench 11.5 (64-bit) Single-threaded test

Good old fully functional Cinebench 11.5 from the Maxon team. In this case, Single-Core tests are performed using one core and one thread. In checks, ray tracing technology is still used, rendering a high-polygonal 3D space with a large number of crystalline and translucent and glass balls. His tests have not lost their relevance today. The result of the test is the value «Frames Per Second». The single-thread test results for the Xeon E5503 in Cinebench 11.5 Single-Core showed high performance compared to the competitor, its score was 0.55 points. But the Athlon X2 BE-2350 itself, scoring 0.28 points in this test, is far behind it.

      Cinebench 15 (64-bit) Multi-thread test

Multi-Thread version of Cinebench 15 will test your system completely, showing everything it can do. All processor cores and threads are involved in the process of rendering complex 3D models. The program is suitable for new multi-thread processors from AMD and Intel. can use 256 computation threads. The Xeon E5503, with a score of 108.33 points, unconditionally scores more in the Multi-Core test from Cinebench 15. While its competitor Athlon X2 BE-2350 lags far behind with 58.38 points in the test.

Cinebench 15 (64-bit) Single thread test

Cinebench R15 is the most modern tester from the Finnish company Maxon today. In this version of the Single Core program, 1 thread is involved in rendering. It checks the system: both processors and video cards. For the CPU, the result of the analysis will be the number of PTS points, and for video adapters, the number of frames per second FPS. A complex 3D scene is rendered with a large number of light sources, complex objects and reflections. Single-threaded test of the Xeon E5503 processor in the Cinebench R15 program shows its high performance, the result is 49.07 points. Compared to it, its competitor Athlon X2 BE-2350 fails this test with a score of 29.83 points.

      Geekbench 4.0 (64-bit) Multi-threaded benchmark

This is a 64-bit multi-threaded Geekbench 4 benchmark. It has wide cross-platform support for various operating systems and devices, making Geekbench benchmarks the most popular to date. In Geekbench 4, the 64-bit multi-core Xeon E5503 received a score of 2988, well above the Athlon X2 BE-2350. In this test, the Athlon X2 BE-2350 gets a very low score of 1246.28 compared to the Xeon E5503.

      Geekbench 4.

      0 (64-bit) Single-threaded test

The latest single-threaded version of Geekbench 4 to date for testing laptops and desktop PCs. For the first time in this version of the benchmark, smartphones running iOS and Android operating systems are also supported. The program still runs on systems like its earlier versions: Linux, Mac OS, Windows. The Single-Core check uses 1 thread. The Xeon E5503 scored higher in the Geekbench 4.0 single-thread test with a score of 1516. But its competitor Athlon X2 BE-2350 is doing much worse — 739.01 points.

      Geekbench 3 (32 bit) Multi-core test

Multi Core Geekbench 3 benchmark — allows you to make a strong «reliability» test of your PC and demonstrate how productive your system is.

      Geekbench 3 (32 bit) Single-threaded test

The Geekbench cross-platform tester is often used to evaluate a Mac system, but it can run on both Linux and Windows. The basic purpose is to check the speed of processors. The Single Core version of the program uses one thread and one processor core.

      Geekbench 2

Currently outdated version of the Geekbench 2 tester. In our archive you can find almost two hundred CPU models that have test results in this program. At the moment, there are newer options, the fourth and 5v.

      X264 HD 4.0 Pass 1

In fact, this is a practical test of processor speed by transcoding HD files to H.264 format or the so-called MPEG 4 x264 codec. This test is faster than Pass 2, as the calculation is done at a constant speed. Frame rate processed per sec. is the benchmark for the test. An ideal test for multi-threaded processors and multi-core ones. The MPEG 4 video processing speed of the Xeon E5503 is significantly higher and amounts to 29.43 fps. But the Athlon X2 BE-2350 didn’t cope well with the task, its speed was 15.88 FPS.

      X264 HD 4.0 Pass 2

This is a slightly different, slower test based on video file compression. You need to understand that a real task is being performed, and the x264 codec is used in a large number of video programs. As a result, we get a better quality video file. The resulting value is also measured in frames per second. The same MPEG4 x264 codec is used, but encoding is already taking place at a non-constant rate. For this reason, the test results realistically reflect the performance of the system. When measuring the speed of video file compression by the Xeon E5503 processor in mpeg4 format, the result was 6.46 Frames / s. Its competitor Athlon X2 BE-2350 compared to it showed a much lower video encoding rate — 3.7 FPS.

      3DMark06 CPU

Benchmark program for testing CPU and video system. This benchmark is often used by fans to overclock processors and overclockers and gamers. CPUs are tested in two ways: the game’s artificial intelligence performs pathfinding, and the other test simulates the game engine using PhysX. Created using the DirectX library by the Finnish company Futuremark. The Xeon E5503 performed much faster in the pathfinding and game physics tests, and scores 1462.
