These days we often see these rigs priced at less than $1,000 / £1,000, which represents awesome value for your hard-earned money. For context, this level of pricing was unimaginable this time last year — and outside of major sales events, such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday — so there’s much to be said about pouncing on these rapidly falling prices that can be had from all around the web.

If you’re looking to spend between $900 and $1,500 (£900 and £1,500) on RTX 3060 laptop deals, this is the configuration you should be looking at and, paired with Ryzen’s 5000 series or Intel’s 11th generation processors, these machines are capable of some serious power.

Why buy an RTX 3060 laptop

As far as the best gaming PCs are concerned, you need something that’s both versatile and fast but that’s also well equipped for any game you throw at it. However, prices on top of the range rigs can certainly shoot through the roof, which is why it’s important to balance that performance with your wallet.

An RTX 3060 laptop with enough RAM and a decent processor shouldn’t cost you more than $1,500 / £1,500, especially when on sale. That makes it perfect for anyone looking for a taste of today’s tech without splashing out on features they won’t necessarily make the most of. However, if your budget is set at $1,000 you’ll find an RTX 3050 laptop much easier.

That may be the case if you’re looking for an RTX 3080 laptop or an RTX 3070 laptop. These machines rarely drop below $1,500 / £1,500 but the performance boost on offer may not even be necessary, especially if you’re not playing demanding games.

RTX 3060 gaming laptops do feature one of the best graphics cards that you can buy at the moment. However, actually getting your hands on that GPU by itself has been proving difficult for years. Laptops, on the other hand, have been packing these RTX 3060 cards for a while now/ If you are looking to pick up a desktop model, though, we’re showing you where to buy RTX 3060 right here.

Which RTX 3060 laptops are available

There’s plenty of choice out there, whether you’re after a budget RTX 3060 laptop or something a little more premium. The best Razer laptops and the best Alienware laptops all come with RTX 3060 configurations, as these graphics cards often form the entry level options of luxury, high-end rigs.

At the cheaper end you’ll find the Asus TUF Dash F15, Dell G15, and Acer Nitro 5 will often offer up the lowest prices. However, if you’re aiming for a more powerful processor and more chance of scoring 16GB RAM, you should also check out the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14, MSI Stealth 15M, and Alienware M15 R5/6. At the top end of the scale, you’ll find the Alienware X15 and X17, and the Razer Blade 14.

Is an RTX 3060 GPU good in a laptop?

An RTX 3060 GPU is perfect for a mid-range laptop that can outperform entry level options but doesn’t need to match the lofty prices of high-end machines. The unit itself offers up 6GB of DGGR6 memory with a 192 bit bus, with a performance generally similar to the RTX 2070 Super mobile GPU.

That means it will offer up solid performance in both 1080p and 1440p gaming, though newer, flashier titles may not run at their best on ultra settings, depending on the processor and RAM you’re pairing them with.

If you’re after a desktop PC, we’re also rounding up all the best RTX 3060 gaming PC deals, or if you’re already settled on a brand, check out the latest cheap Razer laptop deals and cheap Alienware laptops on the market.

For those who would like to use modest gaming power on the road, laptops with RTX 3060 will help. Here are the best ones.

Although RTX 3060 laptops are easier to find than their desktop counterparts, inflated prices are still inevitable. With that in mind, we’ve been looking for some pretty good prices on these machines to help guide your search. Let’s move on to the best RTX 3060 laptops.

Best laptops with RTX 3060:

  • Best in general: ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14
  • The most elegant: MSI Stealth 15M
  • Best cooling: Dell G15
  • Best overclock) F17
  • Budget Power: Lenovo Legion 5

How to Choose the Best RTX 3060 Laptop

Here we offer a disclaimer and some tips. Nvidia has made things a lot more complicated than before. Instead of allowing consumers to match the brand of graphics card (RTX 3080, 3070, 3060, etc.) with performance, they allowed laptop manufacturers to set power limits ranging from 60W to 115W while still positioning them as the same level of performance. . A laptop with a 60W GPU will perform differently than the same graphics card with 115W. Therefore, more power will correspond to more performance, but, of course, more heat.

Fortunately, Nvidia has also started requiring laptop manufacturers to list graphics card power and clock speed in product descriptions. So if in doubt, check it out. Ultimately, the difference can be as high as ~10fps, so if that’s important to you, you should definitely look for a graphics card with more power dedicated to it.

With that in mind, the RTX 3060 offers very modest power in smaller packages. Those looking for a gaming laptop fit for school, work, or play will want to take advantage of the balance that RTX 3060 laptops provide. Prices are a little crazy due to current global events, but in our search, here’s what we came up with.

Best overall: Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

Asus ROG Zephyrus G14

Asus has several gaming brands, and the Republic of Gamers brand is the company’s best known. This RTX 3060 laptop with a colorful design and an optional anime matrix on the back looks quirky but stylish at the same time. This Zephyrus machine can run its graphics card at 80W max with Dynamic Boost, which isn’t the highest of the bunch, but if you want an all-around machine with great portability, this is the way to go.

Best Gaming Laptops 2022

The best gaming laptops in 2022 offer incredible levels of power in portable form factors that work just as well on a desk as they do in a backpack. There are a huge number of manufacturers and models on the market right now, all vying for your interest, whether you’re investing thousands of dollars or just looking for a budget launcher. This means it can be difficult to pinpoint which model will be the best gaming laptop for you.

We reviewed a wide range of gaming laptops to find the best, testing performance against specs, design and temperature performance, and overall value for money.

We run each machine through a series of performance tests, play and work with the models we review for an extended period of time. Below you will find all of our recommendations for choosing the best gaming laptop on the market, as well as more information on choosing the right configuration for you and your budget.

The gaming laptop world (and the gaming PC world in general) is changing fast, with Intel Alder Lake processors in some of the biggest models and new GPU options coming. We update this page with all the latest models to keep you up to date with all the latest updates.

Razer Blade 15

Specifications i9-12900H
GPU RTX 3060 | RTX 3070 Ti | RTX 3080 Ti
RAM 16GB | 32GB
Storage 1TB SSD
Display FHD at 360Hz | QHD at 240Hz | UHD at 144Hz
Ports 3x USB-A Gen 2 | 1x USB-C / Thunderbolt 4 | 1x USB-C | 3. 5mm audio jack | SD card slot | HDMI

We got our hands on the Razer Blade 15 beast, and it showed us just how powerful gaming laptops can be these days. RTX 3080 Ti / i9 configurationThe -12900H sitting on the table was a performance monster. However, this rig’s ability to deliver that kind of performance while maintaining a slim chassis has really cemented it as the number one spot among the best gaming laptops on the market.

Of course, this is not a cheap car. The 2022 Razer Blade 15 starts at $2,499.99 for an RTX 3060 configuration. You’re certainly paying for this luxury name, but if you’re looking for one of the most technically advanced machines in one of the most portable form factors, money will be good. nested.

This means it’s not necessarily the best gaming laptop for everyone — those who play lighter games won’t need the horsepower on offer here, and if you want a machine you can get into from time to time, you won’t get solid value by doing our best. However, if you’re interested in a top install (and have the budget), our testing speaks for itself.

«In 2022, the Razer Blade 15 continues to do what its predecessors did — leading the way in high-quality components and luxurious performance.»

Razer Blade 15 review

We were able to run Shadow of the Tomb Raider at 74fps in 4K. While more demanding games still struggled with this UHD resolution, we were still impressed with Red Dead Redemption 2’s 60+ fps at 1440p, as well as The Division 2’s 78 fps at the same resolution. it only had to be reset by loading up the visuals a bit more to achieve higher frame rates in 4K and still look incredible.

While we were a bit disappointed to find a proprietary charging cable (especially the bulky two-pin connector with a thick boot wire), the solid build quality and suave matte black color were still a sight to behold, even after all this time. The keyboard is slightly softer than models like the Alienware x14 or the MSI Pulse GL66, so if you’re into the mechanical decks of other luxury machines, there may be some sacrifice here.

Overall, though, you can’t beat the Razer Blade 15 in terms of performance, component value, and portability. After all, the only other machines offering RTX 3080 Ti graphics cards at the time of writing still can’t compete with this 4K 144Hz display.

Alienware M15 R5 / R6

Specifications
i7-11800H | i9-11900H
GPU RTX 3050Ti | RTX 3060 | RTX 3070 | RTX 3080
RAM up to 32GB
Storage up to 2TB SSD
QHD at 240Hz
Ports 1x RJ-45 Ethernet NIC | 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen1 | 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen2 / Thunderbolt 4 | 1x HDMI 2.1 | 1x 3.5mm

While both Intel and AMD models are available, we got our hands on the i7 Alienware M15 R6 and were blown away by how it handles the RTX 3080 GPU inside. Not only do you get premium components under the hood, this machine knows how to get the best out of them, even if you go for a more budget-friendly configuration. That’s why it’s the best gaming laptop for most people — you won’t need to spend too much to get solid mid-range specs, and there’s still plenty of room for those cheaper components to reach their potential under the hood.

Frame rate takes precedence over higher resolutions as we are limited to this Full HD (1080p) display, but the compromise comes at the cost of a 360Hz refresh rate.

Alienware M15 R6 Overview

Formerly Alienware’s flagship line, the M15 line has been trimmed down a bit with the launch of the new X15. However, the price difference between the two (you’re paying significantly less for this model) means this particular gaming laptop can’t be beaten for the price overall. You might consider the X15 technically the best Alienware gaming laptop on paper alone, but when it comes to price, it’s a winner.

We were initially disappointed with the plastic construction in our testing. However, we got a particularly high-end configuration, so the more budget model will feel right at home in its cheaper chassis. However, despite this plastic design, we were impressed with the Alienware M15 R6’s ability to handle powerful components effortlessly. We easily hit 100fps in The Division 2 on Ultra settings with our RTX 3080 rig, climbing up to 132fps in Shadow of the Tomb Raider testing. This is a seriously well-engineered kit capable of pushing every spec to the limit.

The good news is that efficiency will continue no matter what your budget is, so we recommend buyers on a budget to look out for price cuts on the RTX 3050 and RTX 3060 configurations. There are two models on the shelves right now: the Intel-based R6 and the R5 based on AMD. This means you will find the perfect specification.

Asus TUF Dash F15

Specifications
CPU i5-11300H | i7-11370H | i7-11375H
GPU RTX 3050 | RTX 3050 Ti | RTX 3060 | RTX 3070
RAM 16GB | 32GB
Storage 512GB | 1TB
Display FHD at 60Hz | 144Hz | 240Hz
Ports 1x 3. 5mm | 1x HDMI 2.0 | 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen1 | 1x RJ45 LAN port | 1x USB-C / 1x Thunderbolt 4

If you want a 30-series RTX card but don’t want to spend $1,000, the Asus TUF Dash F15 is your best bet. In our testing, we found that this inexpensive machine handles even some of the most demanding games as if it were in a much higher price bracket, despite the weaker i7-11370H quad-core processor. Plus, you still get the ultra-thin form factor that’s been so popular over the last couple of years.

You will hit 60+ fps in most games unless you play everything at max.

Asus TUF Dash F15 Review

The key here is that you can equip it with a full complement of 11th gen/1TB/32GB i7 turbo RAM – or you can opt for a more conservative spec for slightly less money. This means you won’t need to splurge on high-end hardware that you might not even be using if you’re running less demanding games, but you can still comfortably get some of the best specs.

We were particularly impressed with how well these more energy intensive components worked together in the cheaper chassis. We didn’t notice any overheating issues here, and while we had to make some sacrifices for more demanding games, we still managed to hit 60fps consistently on the RTX 3070. We also tested the RTX 3060 unit and found similar performance levels when lowered. a few sliders down, which means that here you are sorted by all budget lines. 9Ports 1x RJ45 Ethernet | 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen1 | 1x USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 / Thunderbolt 4 | HDMI | 3.5mm

The Dell G15 won’t set the world of the best gaming laptops on fire, but at least it’s a solid gaming companion choice. Performance in both gaming and general tasks is good considering the price, and all the features we’ve come to expect from gaming laptops are there and counted for — minus that hefty price tag.

However, the look of this laptop can be a point of contention, as we found the chassis to look a bit old-fashioned for 2022.

The G15 also gets very hot when playing more graphics-demanding games, although this isn’t a concern; we definitely considered laptops with noisier fans than this one. In its current form, the G15 is a great all-around device, perfect as a gift for a kid who wants to immerse themselves in PC games or an office worker who has to work remotely and play.

If you’re looking for a larger display panel, the 17. 3-inch Alienware X17 is self-explanatory, but there’s actually a lot more going on here. While the Alienware x17 R1 may start at an already whopping price and come in models that go over the $3,000 mark, it works hard to justify its price and is one of the best gaming laptops out there. The X-Series is Alienware’s latest and greatest line of laptops, aimed at the brand’s more premium customers.

Noisy fans aside, the Alienware x17 R1 is a true gaming laptop that’s the perfect desktop replacement for any serious gamer.

Alienware X17 Review

A choice of 1080p or 4K display, various RAM and storage options, and a membrane or compact mechanical keyboard make it easy to customize this laptop to your personal needs. One of the best things about larger 17.3-inch devices is that they can store significantly more power under the hood without overheating. While we experienced some significant heat (and noise in performance mode) in our tests, we never got close to dangerous temperatures.

Upgradable to an Intel i9 processor, 64 GB of RAM, 4 TB of SSD storage and a 4K display at 120 Hz, this machine can be turned into a beast. We tested the i7-11800H configuration with an RTX 3080 GPU and 16GB of RAM, and even this more conservative spec managed to hit 99fps at Ultra settings in Shadow of the Tomb Raider and 112fps at the same settings in The Division 2. Even more possibilities. Level configurations will still set you back a small amount of money, but that’s because of the extra premium features that make this setup one of the best on the market.

Alienware x17 R1 with a redesigned chassis and a superior array of physical ports sets the standard for Dell’s flagship gaming laptops. This laptop looks and feels great whether it’s on a desk or in your lap, which is a big deal for anyone who takes their gaming seriously.

The slim design works great in this size, especially given the extra bulk that a large display usually brings with it. However, you also get a mechanical keyboard, plenty of ports, and a great display. If you’re looking to splurge on something that really makes a statement, the Alienware X17 is a great option.

With some of the most powerful components on the market and an incredibly thin form factor, this is a device to be reckoned with and the best 14″ gaming laptop on the market. That’s because you’re mixing the best of both worlds: an AMD processor and an Nvidia GPU pair perfectly together.

Razer Blade 14 review

The 1440p display and RTX 3080 GPU excelled in our testing, surprising us with impressive handling of High and Ultra settings in a number of games. We were particularly impressed with how much power was available given the light, thin chassis.

The 14-inch form factor makes the power on offer even more impressive, but we’ve noticed that we need a slightly larger screen at certain times, and when it’s all packed, gets a little warm at times. Still, we liked the 1440p/165Hz mix on the display — this machine doesn’t feel like it would benefit from an expensive 300Hz panel.

You pay a little more for some of the most sought-after components on the market, but with a little tinkering with heavier games, you will certainly get your money’s worth. We were able to get Red Dead Redemption 2 to a near-stable 60fps at max settings at 1440p — amazing considering the form factor. While Metro Exodus did present a big problem (usually hitting 48fps on RTX Ultra settings), a few tweaks did get us to 66fps on high settings. Up to Nvidia RTX 3060 RAM Up to 32GB Storage Up to 1TB NVMe SSD Resolution Full HD (1080p) or WQHD (1440p) Refresh rate 120Hz or 144Hz Ports 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 | 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (one with PD / DisplayPort / G-Sync) | 1x HDMI 2.0 | 1x 3.5mm

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 has dominated the world of thin gaming laptops for a long time. It was one of the first portable machines built with a form factor that didn’t damage your backpack and desktop. The laptop offers a max RTX 3060 GPU, but if you don’t want to splurge on a top-tier graphics card, there’s plenty of power and efficiency under the hood.

With the move to Ryzen 500-series chip and Nvidia 3000-series GPUs, there is also a shift to WQHD resolution, so the 2021 G14 will also give you access to an ultra-clear display with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. Again, this is not a spec designed to compete with the best dogs like the Alienware x-series or the Razer Blade, but you get everything in a nifty 14-inch chassis.

It can get a little hot in here, as is the case with many compact machines, but there is little that can compete with this price. The Razer Blade 14 would be an obvious comparison, but it’s clear that the Asus G14 is aimed at a different type of gamer. If you have the budget, the Razer 14-inch monitor will offer you much more sophisticated configuration options. However, those shopping for less than $2,000 will find the Asus edition much easier to find on the market. Ports 2x USB Type-A 3.2 Gen 1 | 1x Thunderbolt 4 | 1x USB Type-C 3.1 Gen 2 (with DisplayPort) | 1x microSD card reader | 1x HDMI 2.0 | 1x 3.5mm

The latest in a line of super portable best gaming laptops, the MSI Stealth 15M manages to pack some top-notch specs into a compact chassis while still delivering solid performance.

This is definitely an impressive machine with great feel and high performance, aside from some temperature issues.

The MSI Stealth 15M is in the more budget segment of the market, but boasts high quality 1080p display. Similar to the Asus TUF Dash F15, this model features a smaller i7-11375H processor and slim design. In our testing, we were able to reliably push 1080p titles at 50 to 60 fps with some tweaking, although there was a bit more leeway here compared to the Dash F15. We found the display itself to be far superior to a similar Asus build, offering clarity that we can’t replicate on our own RTX 3060 F15.

There must be a downside to that power, after all, and with so much under the hood, cooling and battery certainly suffer the consequences. This machine can become very hot, especially under the main body. If you install it on your desktop, you won’t notice this problem too much — it will be a constant hum and occasional fan buzz that takes some getting used to.

If you’re looking for a machine that can fit in your backpack or on a full gaming table, this is definitely an interesting choice. Performance remains smooth, although don’t expect Ultra settings to run wild.

How to find the best gaming laptop

Not sure what screen size you’d ideally need and what minimum specs you’d like in your search for the best gaming laptop? In our opinion, the key is to choose something with a balance between performance, budget, and components — you want something that will play your favorite games now, yet still have enough bandwidth to help you out. find a new favorite in the future.

So what’s your first step when you start looking for the best gaming laptop? You can start by setting a budget or a total price ceiling, but in general (and somewhat predictably) you’ll want to prioritize the hardware in the machine.

This can be a great starting point to refine your search, but don’t forget to look into 16-series card laptops as well, as they offer incredible value when paired with other well-balanced components. A little note about components: availability has been incredibly unreliable and erratic in recent months, as everyone knows. As a result, it may happen that when you visit the retailers or manufacturers of these machines, only some configurations are available at the moment.

If you’re not sure which components you need, it’s wise to look at the CPU and GPU offerings by tier. If you only play lighter games that aren’t overly demanding you can get into the entry level, if you want to use high settings and still hit 60fps it’s worth looking in the mid range.
