Speed in games
Production Productivity and these Production Productivity and SOMENITY PRODUCTIONS , according to our tests.
The performance of 4 cores, if any, and performance per core has the greatest impact on the result, since most games do not fully use more than 4 cores.
The speed of caches and working with RAM is also important.
Speed in office use
Performance in everyday work such as browsers and office applications.
The performance of 1 core has the greatest impact on the result, since most of these applications use only one, ignoring the rest.
Similarly, many professional applications such as various CADs ignore multi-threaded performance.
Speed in heavy applications
Performance in resource-intensive tasks loading a maximum of 8 cores.
The performance of all cores and their number has the greatest impact on the result, since most of these applications willingly use all the cores and increase the speed accordingly.
At the same time, certain periods of work can be demanding on the performance of one or two cores, for example, applying filters in the editor.
Data obtained from tests by users who tested their systems with and without overclocking. Thus, you see the average values corresponding to the processor.

Different tasks require different CPU strengths. A system with few fast cores and low memory latency will be fine for the vast majority of games, but will be inferior to a system with a lot of slow cores in a rendering scenario.
We believe that a minimum of 4/4 (4 physical cores and 4 threads) processor is suitable for a budget gaming PC. At the same time, some games can load it at 100%, slow down and freeze, and performing any tasks in the background will lead to a drop in FPS.
Ideally, the budget shopper should aim for a minimum of 4/8 and 6/6. A gamer with a big budget can choose between 6/12, 8/8 and 8/16. Processors with 10 and 12 cores can perform well in games with high frequency and fast memory, but are overkill for such tasks. Also, buying for the future is a dubious undertaking, since in a few years many slow cores may not provide sufficient gaming performance.
When choosing a processor for your work, consider how many cores your programs use. For example, photo and video editors can use 1-2 cores when working with filtering, and rendering or converting in the same editors already uses all threads.
Data obtained from tests by users who tested their systems both with overclocking (maximum value in the table) and without (minimum). A typical result is shown in the middle, the more filled in the color bar, the better the average result among all tested systems.
Benchmarks
Benchmarks were run on stock hardware, that is, without overclocking and with factory settings. Therefore, on overclocked systems, the points can noticeably differ upwards. Also, small performance changes may be due to the BIOS version.

AMD FX-8300 Black Edition Professional Processor Review
September 12, 2022
Today’s review features the AMD FX-8300 Black Edition processor, which has a wide range of features.
26/12/2016 Mikhail Chekalin | 2 comments
The AMD Black Edition processor series differs from other processor types from AMD in that the Black Edition includes an unlocked clock speed multiplier.
The FX-8300 processor can be overclocked from 3 to 5 GHz without much difficulty, but at such high frequencies, it is necessary to choose the appropriate cooling because with the boxed cooling that comes with the package, the system will overheat at maximum loads.
The FX-8300 processor has powerful 8 cores from the Vichera series.
In Vishera chips, the developers replaced the cores with Pile Driver, in general, the core is optimized for solving the widest range of tasks and is designed for both high-performance and desktop computers.
The processor does not have integrated graphics, and the frequency response and power dissipation of the thermal package TDP is not inferior to Trinity chips.
The FX-8300 itself is built using a 32nm process, with 1. 2 billion transistors in an area of 315mm 2 .
The TDP of the FX-8300 processor is rated at 95W, while the older ones, the FX-8320 and FX-8350, have a TDP of 125W.
Unpacking the AMD FX-8300 Processor
The processor is packaged in a colorful package with the AMD logo on the sides of the package contains the main technical information.
The 8-core AMD FX-8300 processor is clearly visible through the packaging.
The package itself contains a box cooler designed for the processor, installation instructions and the FX-8300 processor itself, which is in a plastic sealed package.
Inside the package itself, in addition to the processor, there is also a branded AMD sticker.

3DNews Technologies and IT market. AMD processor news: AMD FX processors will remain on the market… The most interesting in the reviews
02/17/2017 [10:15], Anton Testov Despite the imminent release of the first AMD Ryzen chips and the subsequent expansion of this family, Advanced Micro Devices Corporation is not going to say goodbye to the AMD FX series processors anytime soon. In a note to partners, AMD announced that Ryzen and FX will exist within the company’s product family, with the latter being offered for both entry-level systems and relatively mainstream PCs.
The FX suffix rose to prominence in 2003-2006 when AMD used it to label its highest performing desktop processors. At that time, AMD Athlon FX were truly unsurpassed in terms of performance, leaving behind both Pentium 4 and Pentium Extreme Edition in the vast majority of applications. During the AMD Phenom era, the FX suffix was not used, but it returned as a separate trademark in late 2011, when AMD released the first processors based on the Bulldozer microarchitecture. The latter failed to live up to the expectations placed on it in the segment of high-performance CPUs for desktop PCs and servers, and therefore the development of the corresponding processors was curtailed in 2012. However, in October of the same year, the company released processors based on the Piledriver microarchitecture (improved by Bulldozer) and Vishera / Seoul crystals — AMD FX 4300/6300/8300 and Opteron 4300/6300. Later, AMD optimized the power consumption / frequency potential of the mentioned chips, and also selected chips with the highest frequency potential, but in fact, the evolution of Vishera / Seoul stopped in mid-2014. To keep the AMD FX family relatively competitive, Advanced Micro Devices has been cutting processor prices and working with motherboard manufacturers to release new platforms that support M.2, USB Type-C, and other technologies. Apparently, AMD believes that FX processors are still attractive in certain market segments, despite high heat dissipation and the lack of support for a number of modern instructions. Thus, the sale of processors based on chips, introduced almost five years ago, will continue this year. It is logical to expect that older models of AMD Ryzen processors will be positioned by the manufacturer as solutions for the most powerful PCs, while FX will be aimed at other segments. For example, AMD FX 8350 and higher chips are proposed to be opposed to Intel Core i5 6400 (Skylake) and more powerful processors (see table). Other FX will compete with the Core i3 and Pentium generations of Skylake and Haswell. It is noteworthy that older AMD FX processors are recommended to be equipped with AMD Radeon R9 graphics cards.Fury and AMD Radeon R9 390 based on Fiji and Hawaii chips that have been out of production since Q2 2016.
Excerpt from AMD document For partners who are interested in the possible motivations of buyers to choose AMD FX after the release of Ryzen, the developer has released a special brochure describing the benefits of FX. So, it says that AMD FX processors can run at huge clock speeds due to the free multiplier (which means easy overclocking) and have more cores than similarly priced competitors. Of course, the high clock speeds of multi-core processors mean increased power consumption and heat dissipation, which requires investment in an advanced motherboard and cooling system, and may reduce the demand for older AMD FX models among potential customers. AMD hardly understands that sales of powerful FX will drop significantly immediately after the release of Ryzen, and therefore do not make any promises regarding the lifespan in the market of older FX models. The only thing AMD promises is that Ryzen and FX will coexist for some time. Excerpt from AMD document Given the fact that AMD Ryzen requires new motherboards, memory, and often coolers, many low-end FX-based system owners may prefer to buy the older model instead of moving to the new platform. Therefore, it’s in AMD’s best interest to continue to offer top-end FX for a while longer. Taking into account that Vishera chips have been produced for almost five years, their yield and frequency potential are at a very good level (due to the fact that the 32 nm SOI process has been perfected in six years), which means that the cost of such microcircuits relatively low. Thus, the CPU developer should not have problems with the offer of powerful AMD FX. Through its partner announcements, AMD confirms this and says it will continue to ship existing processors for AM3+ socket motherboards in stock. GIGABYTE 970-Gaming: Latest Generation AMD FX Motherboard Today it’s hard to say what the demand for AMD FX products will be as the Ryzen family expands. Apparently, AMD is going to find out first, and only then curtail the release of FX, chipsets for them, and the production of motherboards. In the meantime, the demand situation remains uncertain, AMD FX will not disappear from store shelves. Sources:
