Can I Run GTA 5?

Since GTA 5 first released on the Xbox 360 and PS3, the GTA 5 PC system requirements are understandably low.

The very best gaming CPUs have come a long way, but an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 and AMD Phenom 9850 from over 10 years ago are still enough to meet the GTA 5 PC minimum system requirements. Similarly, if you’re still rocking a 13-year-old Nvidia GeForce 9800 GT
or AMD Radeon HD 4870, the gates of Los Santos will be open to you. You’ll also need 4GB of RAM, and owing to the GTA 5 game size, 72GB of free storage space. However, Rockstar
recommends that you stretch to 8GB of RAM, and we recommend freeing up
that 72GB on an SSD for improved loading times.

Stretching to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 will offer a much smoother and prettier experience. Additionally, an Intel Core i5-3470 and AMD X8 FX-8350 are needed to meet the GTA 5 PC recommended system requirements.

GTA 5 PC download

There are plenty of storefronts offering a GTA 5 download, or Grand Theft Auto Vif you’re feeling formal.

You can purchase the game from the Epic Games Store, Rockstar Store, or Steam.

For more Rockstar action, check the Red Dead Redemption 2 system requirements.

GTA 5 update

If you’re looking for the latest GTA 5 update, you’re likely searching for what’s new in the multiplayer world because single-player rarely receives the same amount of love (we have GTA 5 mods and GTA 5 cheats for that, instead). Every week, there’s a GTA Online update to look forward to, blessing us with anything from new cars, deals, missions, modes, and races to bug fixes and events.

While Rockstar announced a GTA+ subscription service in March for its online mode in the new PS5 and Xbox Series releases of GTA V, this service has not made its way to the PC version.

GTA 5 settings

GTA 5 may be relatively old, debuting on the PC back in 2015, but it’s still as popular as the day it launched. At the time of its release, high-end rigs struggled to run the game at High and Ultra settings, but recent advancements in CPUs and GPUs have made running GTA 5 much easier.

The open-world of GTA 5 is massive, which can lead to long load times. To combat this, we recommend installing GTA 5 on an SSD, which will drastically reduce time spent staring at loading screens.

If you’re struggling to maintain a stable or high frame rate, try switching the anti-aliasing option from MSAA to FXAA or just turn off the setting completely. Post-FX settings like bloom, HDR lighting, and heat shimmer can also have a big impact on performance. Keeping these settings in particular a step or two below their recommended settings can help with fps gains.

Texture quality has a small impact on performance, so if you want to keep the game looking decent on a lower-end system, you should be able to keep the texture quality relatively high. Turning down Shader Quality has a fairly small impact on the visuals, but can give a boost to performance.

Looking for a less demanding game? Check out the GTA 4 system requirements.

GTA 5 bugs

Developer Rockstar Games has created a dedicated support page, for GTA 5. While it doesn’t list all the known GTA 5 bugs that it is working to resolve, we can expect that any prevalent issues will be addressed promptly via patches.

GTA 5 will run on PC system with Windows 7 64-bit and upwards.

The PUBG pc gaming community is still very much alive. If you want to run PUBG, you will need a minimum GPU of a GeForce GTX 960 or a Radeon R7 370 with at least 2 GB of dedicated memory. You CPU needs to be a Core i5-4430 or an AMD FX-6300. PUBG PC Specs — PUBG Recommended PC Requirements?

Updated February 1, 2021 By Cliff Henjum

The battle royale that changed the industry forever is now in its 10th season, and new players are still joining the fight and wondering if their computers can run PUBG. The system requirements test for PUBG is still one of the harder to pass tests when it comes to the Battle Royale genre so your PC is going to need to be quite powerful. The minimum video card requirement is set at the GeForce GTX 960 and a Radeon R7 370. The CPU required is at least an Intel Core i5-4430 or an AMD FX-6300. If your computer has at least this level of hardware along with 8 GB of RAM, you can run PUBG on at least Low graphics settings. Play PUBG on higher graphics settings with a computer that passes the recommended system requirements test. Your CPU needs to be at least an Intel Core i5-6600K or a Ryzen 5 1600 while your GPU should be at least a GeForce GTX 1060 or a Radeon RX 580. 16 GB of system RAM is also needed to help your system get the most out of your PUBG experience.

One of the most popular games on PC for over the last year has been Brendan Greene’s Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds, more commonly referred to as ‘PUBG.’ At its core, PUBG is a battle royale game that features matches of up to 100 players battling for the all-important chicken dinner. Whether you’re fighting solo, with a partner, or in a squad, the ultimate goal is be the last one/team standing. Compared to the other industry titan, Fortnite, PUBG takes a much more realistic approach to its graphics and gameplay mechanics. This difference in graphics style can have positive and negative effects, with the main negative being a vast increase in hardware needed to play the game properly. PUBG was a highly successful Early Access game on Steam, but reviews for the game began to take a turn for the worse as optimization and server issues began to arise. Because of some of these issues, the system requirements for PUBG have been officially changed to more accurately reflect the type of PC needed to get it running.

Originally, the minimum requirement for GPU was set at the GeForce GTX 660 and the Radeon HD 7850, but this proved to be insufficient for fluid gameplay in popular landing zones like School and Military Base. Bluehole eventually changed the requirement to the GeForce GTX 960 and the Radeon R7 370 which is a pretty significant increase in overall power. Furthermore, the CPU requirements went from the range of Intel Core i3-4340/AMD FX-6300 up to Intel Core i5-4430 with the AMD requirement actually staying the same. As a whole, these are definitely on the higher range of minimum requirements when looking at other games that were built with Unreal Engine 4, like Soul Calibur VI or Conan Exiles.

When you move on to the recommended requirements, things begin to look a little closer to other titles that share genres. In fact, The GeForce GTX 1060 is the same recommended requirement in games like Battlefield 5 and Black Ops 4. Bluehole set the CPU requirement at the Intel Core i5-6600K and AMD Ryzen 5 1600. There’s still a chance that your computer could experience frame drops and stutters when jumping into high density areas, even if your PC is technically above the recommended requirements. If you experience this sort of issue, you may need to turn a couple of settings down, such as View Distance, Shadows, and Effects.
Many of the optimization issues have been addressed by PUBG/Bluehole, but even with their FixPUBG campaign, gamers are still experiencing problems while playing. With Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 already gobbling up market share and Battlefield V just around the corner, PUBG and its intense system requirements may be on its last breath.

Fortnite game details

Updated: June 18th, 2020 by JT Hussey

The coivd Pandemic has forced everyone indoors, luckly Fortnite has new game modes like team death match and squads. Although the game has swept the world by force, you still need to meet the Fortnite minimum specs of an Intel HD 4000 GPU to achieve smoother PC runtime and to protect your corpse from player molestation. However, for seamless gameplay without framerate issues or lag, your computer should meet the Fortnite pc requirements of a Nvidia GTX 660 GPU or an AMD Radeon HD 7870 GPU. Beat the quarantine together in Fornite’s Battle Royale!

Fortnite is the living, action building survival game where you and your friends lead a group of Heroes to reclaim and rebuild a homeland left empty by a mysterious darkness called «The Storm». It is about crafting weapons, building fortified structures, exploration, scavenging items and fighting massive amounts of monsters. Players must work together scavenging treasure and items they can use for building, and defend their assets and people from the Husks. Building is a core mechanic in the game, and buried beneath is lots of loot. The game is described as «Minecraft meets Left 4 Dead» by Tim Sweeney, the founder of Epic Games.

Will my PC run Fortnite?

The new gaming phenomenon Fortnite has swept across the world in 2018, dominating all gaming-related media and taking over livestreaming services such as Twitch. To say that the ‘Battle Royale’ mode is addicting to play, is an understatement. According to analytics firm Sensor Tower, a lot of people agree me too. They state that the game is averaging over $1 million per day due to in-game purchases. A light-hearted, cartoony approach sets it apart from its main rivals in the newly emerging Battle Royale genre, such as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or h2Z1. So are you able to jump on the bandwagon and see what this game is all about?

Luckily for you, compared to most of the modern AAA games that are released such as Far Cry 5 and Assassins Creed: Odyssey, Fortnite doesn’t require a supercomputer to run. This is partly down to the graphical choice that the developers chose whilst designing the game. The cartoonish graphics and player models decrease the need for a top-of-the-range graphics card and CPU. And then there is the powerful, scalable Unreal Engine. To run this game, you’ll require at least a 64-bit Windows 7 operating system on your computer. Additionally, your rig will need to have an Intel Core i3 processor with 4 GB of Memory to keep the game ticking. Luckily, the vidoe card minimum requirement only calls for an Intel HD 4000 or better to keep up with the game’s graphics.

As you can see, the game is very accessible with many of the minimum requirements, such as the i3 processor, being found in non-specialist laptops and computers. An Intel Core i3 running at 2.4GHz should be enough to keep this game ticking without any issues. However in-game, especially in a large firefight, you may notice the game lose frames due to the amount of particles and structures it has to load in such a short amount of time. If this problem persists, consider turning down a few graphical settings which usually take a toll on your CPU such as shadows or textures.

If you do own a gaming PC with more advanced features and hardware, the recommended processor is an Intel Core i5 to make sure the game can run smoothly. You need a graphics card in the form of either a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or an AMD Radeon HD 7870 to show off the full graphical capabilities of the game. With these requirements or higher, your PC should have absolutely no problem rendering in the famous map with all its assets and player models. A major part of the gameplay mechanics in Fortnite is that the map gets smaller and closes in on a randomly generated point as the game goes on. This means the game doesn’t have to load and process as many things as it goes on (provided you’re good enough to get this far!) making the game run smoothly. Additionally, this game has no AI in its main game mode ‘Battle Royale’ which, in turn, doesn’t put as much stress on the CPU.

Final thing… don’t forget you’ll need a stable internet connection!

Can you run Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim?

Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim PC Specs — Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim PC Requirements?

By Cliff Henjum July 6, 2019

Perhaps the biggest single-player game of the decade, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, has won over 200 Game of the Year Awards throughout its life. It has been ported to every new console that has come out and has even been fully adapted to Virtual Reality. The action role-playing game from Bethesda continues to bring in new players that are wondering if their computer is strong enough to run it. Don’t forget about other big games from Bethesda, such as Fallout 4 and DOOM Eternal. It’s important to figure out which version of Skyrim you plan on playing because the system requirements are different. Do you and your computer have what it takes to stop Alduin the World-Eater?

In October of 2016, Bethesda released a Special Edition version of Skyrim and provided all previous owners with the free upgrade. While this meant a boost in graphics, it also meant an increase in computer power was needed. Originally you only needed a GeForce 7600 GT or a Radeon X1800 to pass the minimum requirements, but the enhanced version requires at least a GeForce GTX 470 or a Radeon HD 7870. That’s a fairly sizeable increase in video card power, but it is definitely worth it. There was also a jump between old and current CPU requirements — it used to be set at a simple 2 GHz Dual-Core processor, but now your PC will need at least a Core i5-750 or a Phenom II X4-945. The Special Edition brings all of the exceptional mod tools to your fingertips, as well as new weapons, armor, and character dialogue.

If you want your PC to max out all of the graphics and play with tons of mods installed, you will need to pass the recommended requirements. In order to slay dragons with a high FPS, your GPU needs to be at least a GeForce GTX 780 or a Radeon R9 290 with 3-4 GB of VRAM. If you have a card along the lines of the GeForce GTX 780, that means you can run over 90% of the other games on the market as well. It would put you somewhere in between the minimum and recommended requirements for a game like Rust, which is notorious for having high system requirements. Don’t forget about your CPU — it needs to be at least as powerful as a Core i5-2400 or an AMD FX-8320.

Maybe you want to strap on an Oculus Rift or an HTC VIVE while you live the life of magic-wielding archer. Well then your PC needs to pass the standard VR system requirements as well as having about 15+ GB of available space for install files. A GeForce GTX 1070 or a Radeon RX Vega 56 will put you over the recommended requirements so hopefully your PC is ready for that. The VR version of Skyrim is hailed as one of the greatest VR adaptations of any modern game.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Updated March 15, 2021 By Cliff Henjum

Skyrim, the fifth entry in the Elder Scrolls series, remains one of the most popular games to ever be played on PC. PC gamers that want to join in on the fun need hardware in their computer that can pass this system requirements test. Bethesda set the minimum GPU requirements at the GeForce GTX 470 and the Radeon HD 7870. For your CPU, they want you to have at least an Intel Core i5-750 or an AMD Phenom II X4 945. Play Skyrim with maxed out graphics for the most immersive gameplay experience on a computer that passes the recommended requirements test. The recommended GPU is set at the GeForce GTX 780 and the Radeon R9 290, while the recommended CPU is set at the Core i5-2400 and AMD FX-8320. Skyrim also needs 8 GB of system RAM and about 12 GB of free harddrive space for the install. Now it’s time to slay some dragons!

20 games that your laptop will definitely handle

Each game on this list is unique in its own way. Along with beloved classics like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, the focus is on the best indie games, as well as mid-range laptop games that are less demanding on your device’s power.

What’s more, the best laptop games also include some of the best PC games like Doom Eternal and Control. With the best processors and graphics cards getting smaller and more powerful every year, there are plenty of high-end gaming laptops that can handle higher quality graphics.

So, here are our Top 20 games that can be played without problems on most laptops

  • RAM: 8 GB
  • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce 1060 or
  • equivalent

Have you ever dreamed of becoming the greatest detective in history? We have found the very game that will help you fulfill your dream. Disco Elysium is a digital paradise for those who have always had a knack for problem solving and fantasized about being the baddest (or most quirky) private detective.

In this open-world RPG, you have unprecedented freedom as a detective. Solve murders, help people, take bribes, manipulate other heroes, or even become a millionaire! And that’s with loads of wild skills and cool detective tools at your disposal.

The city you’re running through also has an immense atmosphere of mystery, reminiscent of neo-noir Gotham. All this makes Disco Elisiym even more attractive. No matter how much free time you have, this game should definitely be on your laptop.

    2.Thimbleweed Park

    • Processor: 2GHz
    • RAM: 4 GB
    • Video card: Intel HD 3000 or better

Whether he’s working at LucasArts, Double-Fine or a new indie studio, game industry veteran Ron Gilbert is always ready to serve real gaming gold to the table.

Thimbleweed Park’s tradition of delivering flawless products continues. It’s a pixel-art quest with a modern, creative look and point and click interface that takes us back to the glory days of Maniac Mansion.

Basically a graphic murder mystery adventure in which FBI agents Reyes and Ray — who are in no way similar to the other famous pair of fictional, UFO-chasing members of the Bureau — arrive in a sleepy town to investigate a horrific murder.

Here, a truly thoughtful story is complemented by a set of unusual but instantly memorable characters, which is usually a rarity even for games with a much larger budget. Is it any wonder that it tops our list of the best laptop games?

    3. Cuphead

    • Processor: Intel Core2 Duo E8400 3.0GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.0GHz or higher
    • RAM: 2 GB
    • Video card: GeForce 9600 GT or AMD HD 3870 512 MB

You may be put off by the sheer amount of challenges Cuphead has to offer, but we can say with confidence that she should be given a chance. And if you don’t already find its bright, whimsical art style charming, then some details of its backstory may convince you.

Cuphead was developed by indie studio Studio MDHR (short for Studio Moldenhauer), named after the two founding brothers, Chad and Jared Moldenhauer. In fact, the entire company is made up of family members and friends who were eager to create their dream project.

Chad’s wife Maria Moldenhauer designed and edited this hand-drawn ode to classic Mega Man-style 2D platformers and 1930s Fleischer cartoons like Betty Boop. Well, if it’s still not enough for you 19bosses, next year Cuphead plans to release a massive expansion with new bosses, territories and a new playable character.

    4. Stardew Valley

    • Processor: 2 GHz
    • RAM: 2 GB
    • Video card: 256 MB video memory, Shader model 3. 0+

If you’re a fan of farming simulations (and considering how well games like Farming Simulator and Harvest Moon sell, you’re definitely not alone), few games will make you jump more from the joys of farming than the adorable Stardew Valley.

Stardew Valley’s Harvest Moon-inspired look and lovable characters look as organic as possible, making it one of the best laptop games out there.

Caring for the fields, growing food and livestock, of course, does not seem like something exciting, but it is precisely in this simplicity that the whole charm of this game lies. Whether you’re expanding your farm, fishing by the river, or heading into the countryside to strike up a friendship (maybe even something more) with a group of NPCs, all of these Stardew Valley day-to-day activities have one thing in common: a state of calm. Farming has never been so exciting.

    5. Night In The Woods

    • Processor: 4-core Intel Core i5
    • RAM: 4 GB
    • Video card: Intel HD 4000

In many ways, we can describe Night In The Woods as a mixture of the game Life is Strange and the animated series Bojack Horseman. Interactive dialogues resemble the first, and the problem of solving mental problems is reflected in the second.

Night in the Woods itself was developed by the virtual studio Infinite Fall, which included programmer and developer Alec Holovka, and Twitter joker, illustrator and animator Scott Benson. Together, these two created not just a game, but an amazing world full of interesting characters that we hope you will enjoy.

You play as Mei, a cat who dropped out of college and recently moved back to her hometown of Possum Springs. It’s a fully narrative game, as is typical of modern point and click adventure games, with very few game traps that will keep your attention throughout the story. All in all, if you like Telltale Games or Life is Strange, Night in the Woods is the right choice.

What’s more, it will run fairly smoothly with integrated graphics, given that the game has an attractive but not very demanding art style. Of course, conversations about her will not subside for many years to come, even if she did not manage to win at The Game Awards.

    6. Command & Conquer Remastered Collection

    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4600 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 6400 2.4 GHz
    • RAM: 4 GB
    • Video card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 420 or ATI Radeon HD 5570

The 90s are still alive as the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection. And it’s not just an updated version of the original 1995 game. It has an alternate universe sub-series called Red Alert, as well as three expansion packs that include over 100 missions and over 250 multiplayer maps. In general, the release came out quite informative.

This re-release includes improvements to the game’s graphics, an update to the game’s soundtrack, including re-recording of 20 tracks from the original release, and most importantly, a 4K update to the game. The game also has a modern control system that will allow you to use hotkeys. And if you’re looking for an even better gaming experience, this re-release gives you the freedom to create additional mods yourself.

The essence of the game has not changed significantly, paying tribute to its predecessor of 90’s, so if you’re looking for a ghost of the past improved in every way, then this game will definitely make a lasting impression on you.

    7. Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire

    • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100T 2.50 GHz or AMD Phenom II X3 B73
    • RAM: 4 GB
    • Video card: ATI Radeon HD 4850 or NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT

Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire was released in 2018 and has already acquired quite a large number of fans. We think your laptop’s integrated graphics can still handle it. Basically, it has the same forgiving system requirements as its predecessor, so if you’re a fan of the first game, you’ll definitely be able to check out its sequel.

In Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire, you travel to an archipelago called Deadfire to hunt down a fugitive god who creates horrors along the way. Like the first part, the sequel has a rich storyline and deep role-playing gameplay that takes us back to the days of Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights.

Despite the fact that all the background images are in 2D and viewed from top to bottom, this does not interfere with enjoying the visual component of the game. In addition, numerous spell effects will protect you during intense tactical combat.

And because it’s developed by Obsidian, a studio renowned for producing the best RPGs, you can be sure that you’re in for an unforgettable adventure that’s well worth the money.

    8. Papers, Please

    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
    • RAM: 4 GB
    • Video card: Integrated video card / NVIDIA GeForce 510

We all know how aggressive geese can be. Well, thanks to Untitled Goose Game you can be in the shoes of a real goose. And not just a goose, but a real bespredelschik. You can already guess what will happen here.

If you like causing chaos, this game will definitely appeal to you. Run as a goose, ruin people’s lives, arrange all sorts of antics, steal their things, or even just annoy them! In fact, the more unhappy people are, the better. You’ll even have a to-do list where you’ll mark completed tasks. One of them, for example, is to lock the child in a telephone booth. Is there a better way to let off steam after a hard day?

    10. Ori and the Will of the Wisps

    • Processor: Intel Core i5
    • RAM: 8 GB
    • Video card: Nvidia GTX 950 or AMD R7 370

This side-scrolling platform game takes its predecessor Ori and the Blind Forest’s vibrant color scheme and great soundtrack into a new and improved version. However, the game’s cosmetic changes aren’t everything. Ori and the Will of the Wisps builds on the mechanics of the first game to immerse the hero more deeply into the gameplay and gives him the opportunity to explore a new larger version of the world. The exciting story, gameplay and aesthetic of the game come together for about 15 hours, which creates real magic.

If you have a fairly old laptop, you can install the original version of the game. While Ori and the Will of the Wisps may be buggy on most basic laptops, it doesn’t require ray tracing technology or a cutting-edge GPU, so recent laptops shouldn’t have a problem running it.

Strategy games on PC with development and building: ranking of the best games in 2021

A classic strategy that literally immediately plunges you into your world with your head.

    Work again?

Continuation of the cult Red Alert 2, the cut-scenes of which simply killed with their humor. The name of the game is translated as «Red Alert». A reference to Stalin’s red button, pressing which would lead to the complete destruction of the world. In the third part, the cutscenes between missions are just as interesting as in the previous one. There are three factions to play: the USSR, the Alliance and the Empire. Each of them pursues its own personal goals.

As soon as you see the name of this masterpiece, the Get Low soundtrack immediately starts playing in your head, or, in common people, “e ron don don”. That is why this racing hit made its way into our top. It is worth returning to it, if only for the sake of the legendary soundtracks. In the future, almost all songs from NFS: Underground were used in movies about racing.

How did the fans of the first Underground react to the release of the new part? General rejoicing. New cars, no less cool soundtracks in the spirit of NFS: Underground, new dynamic tracks — all this was received with a bang. The second part today is played a little nicer than the first. Yes, there is more content. We recommend trying both and deciding which one is cooler.

The game was released in 2006, and its passage still collects thousands of views on YouTube. The thing is that in those days, when developing games, special emphasis was placed on the plot component and the creation of an atmosphere. Graphically, they also tried to surprise, but more with style, and not with the introduction of technological innovations. You have to play as a cop who is on the trail of a maniac serial killer who preys on women.

Popping psychopaths with a pipe in their hands, gloomy corridors, subway tunnels and intriguing plot twists — everything is perfect in this game.

It is hardly possible to take and forget this smirk of the main character. Did you know that Max’s face was copied from the face of Sam Lake, the screenwriter of the project? The first 3 person shooter with the ability to slow down time and dive in different directions. Even today it looks very cool!

Continuation of the cult first part. Many fans of the series, by the way, were unhappy with the sequel. Habitual business. However, time put everything in its place, and the second part is now considered no less legendary than its prequel. We recommend playing the first part, and after it go through Max Payne 2.

How many hours can this game drag you out the first time… Even at the stage of creating characters, you can get stuck for a long time. This is a classic real life simulator where you can become anyone and achieve any goals. You can catch ghosts or fight fires. Or create a big family and work on the computer without leaving home.

    • Games

Best quests on PC: top 5 legendary games

Sims 3 is completely devoid of violence and other shock content, so it’s perfect for the whole family to play.

The birth of the legendary series of epic shooters Battlefield began with this part. There is no plot as such. The only goal of the game is to destroy the enemy, using the technique or moving on your two. The medic heals allies, the infantryman wields strong weapons, the engineer repairs allied vehicles and undermines enemy vehicles, etc. We recommend that you plunge into 2002 and play the very first part of Battlefield.

This is not a game, but a whole 2D universe. Boundless scope for exploring the world, the ability to grow plants and livestock, create items — the content will last for hundreds of hours.

By the way, the game is not old at all, because it was released in 2019. It would be possible to add Minecraft to our top instead of Forager, however, «mine» is quite demanding and will fail on weak PCs and laptops.

This game is not far behind Minecraft in terms of gameplay. The 2D format does not prevent her from looking beautiful and rich. You can interact with any details, extract any kind of resources and climb deep into any cave. The main goal is to equip your home and stock up on resources, get top equipment and repel attacks from hostile creatures.

If you haven’t played it, you must have heard about this game. Gordon Freeman has wielded a telekinetic cannon and uses it to hurl objects at enemies. The game was made on the Source engine and even today it looks decent. And physics and shooting are felt in a modern way. The plot of the game captures from the first minutes. We highly recommend Half Life 2 — one of the best games for weak PCs and laptops today.

The first ever shooter with logical co-op. A group of survivors moves from point «A» to point «B», and crowds of zombies block their way. Locations look unique, optimization is on top. Dozens of running zombies and a stable 30 FPS — even today you can play it with friends and have a lot of fun.

Continuation of the dynamic survival shooter L4D. New locations, new weapons and new charismatic characters. The goal of the game is the same — to reach the shelter. Levels have become even more beautiful, and enemy bosses have become even more insidious. Very fun to play with friends in co-op.

Some people find this series of trucker simulators very boring. Many still believe that only fans of the W key play ETS. However, for those who understand the romance of long-distance truckers, the game seems unrealistically meditative. He took the cargo and took it to distant lands, through days, nights, mountains, forests and fields. If you are interested, then be sure to play Euro Truck Simulator 2.

Titan Quest is the most worthy rival of the games in the DIAblo series. The project, of course, had a lower budget than any of the parts of the franchise from Blizzard, but in terms of content and gameplay it was not inferior to her. A little less atmospheric than Diablo 2, but thousands of people visit Titan Quest every day on the Steam platform. We invite you to try this masterpiece in the hack-and-slash genre.

The legend of computer clubs. The main competitor of Quake 3 Arena and Counter Strike 1.6. Dynamic confrontations and cool guns — this is what caught the game in those days. Then there was still such a genre as 3D action, in which Unreal Tournament 2003 occupied the top lines in terms of rating and popularity.

Today, the third Kwak, of course, looks a little pretentious. No worse than Unreal Tournament, but the visually outdated look is present. But this is just an illusion. If you have played before, then try to go into it and run for a couple of minutes. You can’t take it by the ears. The dynamics are captivating. It’s really fun to play and compete with friends.

Today you can ask anyone: literally everyone will tell you how the whole computer club was afraid of him. He set headshots with his eyes closed, killed with an AWP without a scope, knew how to keep a burst from an AK at one point. It is unlikely that you have not heard similar stories from those who attended computer clubs in their youth. CS 1.6 is a chewing gum in the center of the screen and ball mice. Do you want to go back in time, at least for a little while? Then play «Counter» 1. 6.

Yes, it looks crazy. However, this is one of the very first first-person shooters. At the time of the release of this game, a real revolution took place — all other development studios quickly switched to creating shooters in the FPS genre.

This game was launched on everything: on calculators, cameras, cash terminals, ATMs and even in the game Doom 1993 itself, they managed to launch it! Why don’t you try to enable it, at least on your PC?

After 1993 this game looks like something perfect. The third part came out in 2004. Then it was a AAA project in the horror genre. However, today Doom 3 would hardly be classified as a «horror» — rather, an FPS shooter with horror elements. The franchise is growing and new games are still being released. Thinking what to play on a weak laptop or PC from the Doom series? The third part will fit 100%.

One of the largest 3D projects in the apocalypse setting. It is worth noting that the second part of the game is not visually similar to the sequel, so Fallout fans took the sequel very negatively. However, the game itself is very capacious and atmospheric. Fallout 3 has 4 main endings and 32 additional ones. Pretty good for a 2008 game.

Shadow of Chernobyl was released by GSC Game World in 2007. It was the first part of the franchise. Further, one game per year, sequels were released: Clear Sky (2008) and Call of Pripyat (2009). All of them are good. However, we recommend you «Shadow of Chernobyl», as the rest of the parts are demanding and may fail on weak PCs and laptops. Immerse yourself in the world of the Zone: atmospheric and very dangerous. Post-Soviet landscapes are especially pleasing to the eye and seem familiar.

We believe that the GTA franchise really began with this part. GTA III couldn’t compete with Mafia 1 because it had a weak storyline. Yes, open world, yes, many missions. But all this was not surprising even then, since all the activity was rehearsal, and the plot was empty. What can not be said about GTA: San Andreas — its world is truly alive and rich in bright characters.

The story of the game’s heroes echoes the real fate of hip-hop artists from the NWA group. Definitely recommend going if you haven’t done so yet.

Incredible horror adventure from the famous Silent Hill franchise. In 2008, when it came out, the game looked very beautiful and special. A memorable opening and an interestingly developing plot is what Homecoming is played for today.

If we talk about the legendary old games, it would be a big mistake not to mention Heroes 3. Heath is still alive today. Until now, popular streamers have been playing Heroes of Might and Magic III for hours, and tens of thousands of viewers are watching it live.

If you like turn-based strategy games and feel like you’re ready to immerse yourself in a world that will take at least a hundred exciting hours to explore, then feel free to play Heroes of Might and Magic 3.

Looking at how the game looks, you immediately think: “Well, no, this is not mine”? Then turn on the trailer on YouTube. The high quality of the soundtrack makes Hotline Miami a real masterpiece. Atmospheric and driving tracks from popular electronic music authors are waiting for you.

The gameplay is very addictive. Each of the deaths is not perceived with annoyance, because you want to constantly replay the same moments in a different scenario. You just have to give the game a chance.

Top 5 games for powerful PCs: a joy for the eyes and a test for iron

By the way, you will die from one shot or blow. Good luck!

It would seem, well, what could be the continuation? But the developers disagree here. They added even more characters, weapons and plot twists. Yes, Hotline Miami has a plot, and it’s insane.

What is good about the second part? Even more cool soundtracks, heroes and locations. We guarantee that you will be surprised that such an unremarkable game can be so captivating.

Strangely, the game gained its popularity long before the COVID-19 pandemic. It came out back in 2015, around the time when the whole world was afraid of the spread of Ebola. Today, Plague Inc is played like a horror game. In connection with the latest events in the world, the game very clearly echoes real events. Your goal is to create the perfect virus or bacterium that will cope with the spread, survive any thermal conditions and bypass the protection of any vaccine. And they will kill. The whole planet.

What to play on a laptop on a long trip — Promo on DTF

Without a mouse and without much battery consumption.

    Supported by Acer

When you play on a laptop during a long trip, it is not always possible to get a mouse — you have to be content with just a keyboard and touchpad. But not all games are adapted to such management. The passage of the same Starcraft on the touchpad is a real torment. In addition, when traveling, you need to take into account the battery charge, and there may not be access to the network.

So we have selected seven exciting games from different genres and times that you can safely play on a laptop without a mouse and that will not sit too hard on the device.

This material was produced with the support of Acer. This year, she released three new gaming laptops in the Nitro line — one 17-inch and two 15-inch — you can take them with you and play anywhere: on a train, plane, bus and so on. More about them at the end of the article. And there is also promo code for a 10% discount. And we’re moving on to games.

    Star Control II

Genre : adventure game with arcade battles and RPG elements.

    Release date : 1992.

Not everyone remembers Star Control II now, but this is truly a cult game. It inspired BioWare employees, judging by how much Mass Effect is like Star Control II, and the developers of Fallout and Space Rangers have already openly admitted their great love for this game. A lot of people were waiting for her spiritual successor Star Control: Origins.

Over time, the fans completely updated all the graphics with the soundtrack and added voice acting by the characters, so now it’s better to play the fan remake, The Ur-Quan Masters.

According to the plot of the game, in the distant future, humanity has founded a colony in another solar system. But when the colonists’ ship flew back to Earth, a surprise awaited them. The alien star empire of the ur-kuans conquered the people and presented them with a choice: go to fight for them and follow their orders in everything, or give up all weapons and allow their planet to be surrounded by a red field impenetrable to ships, and to communicate with the conquerors, leave only a tiny station in orbit . Earthlings have chosen the second and put an end to any flights into space.

But even more serious trouble was approaching. The Koor-ahs, belonging to the same people as the ur-kuans, did not share the views of their relatives and believed that other races should not be enslaved, but exterminated entirely. Because of this, they started a civil war with the ur-kuans — and if they win it, they will destroy all sentient life in the galaxy.

Finally, the captain of the only human ship set out on a journey to gather fleets of different races and fight back against the koor-ahs and ur-kuans. At the same time, the player is given complete freedom of flight in the open world. You can land on most planets, look for resources there and sell them. And in branching dialogues, they let the fate of entire races be decided. Moreover, the plot is quite complex and branching, and the conversations make you remember the classics of science fiction like Robert Sheckley.

One of the main parts of this adventure, crossed with a space simulator — arcade battles one on one with other starships. Each ship has its own characteristics, and battles with them take place on the plane, as if in Asteroids. Everything is controlled from the keyboard — Star Control II does not even have mouse support.

    Grim Fandango

    Genre : adventure.

    Release date : 1998.

Many classic adventure games have too much pixel hunting, so touchpad control can be a problem. With Grim Fandango, everything is a little easier: despite the fact that mouse support was added in the remaster, the game was originally made with an eye on the keyboard alone. In this case, the main character always turns his head towards things that can be interacted with.

The game begins with the protagonist, Manny Calavera, long dead. But in the afterlife, despite the existence of demons and the fact that all the people around are skeletons, the orders are similar to ours. There are casinos and shops, and society is divided into rich and poor.

In the next world, Manny even got a job as a travel agent in the Department of Death. He distributes vouchers to paradise islands depending on how righteous a person led a life — the worse he was, the more dangerous the path. True, Manny is constantly unlucky in this matter, which is why he decides to cheat — and this immediately leads him to the trail of one large-scale conspiracy.

Grim Fandango is called one of the best adventure games in the history of the genre — and deservedly so. Puzzles in it do not interfere with the plot, but, on the contrary, help to develop it. In addition, they are relatively logical, which not all classics of the genre can boast of. But still, the most important thing in Grim Fandango is the story.

The overall plot is filled to the brim with references to film noir, from Casablanca to Chinatown — and is able to surprise more than once. Almost every character you meet is remembered for its texture: what is Manny’s best friend worth, the naive overweight demon mechanic Glottis, who is eager to drive cars, despite his impressive size. In addition, the whole local history is seasoned with tons of witty jokes.

And Grim Fandango wouldn’t be so great without its art. The design, which fuses noir and Mexican Day of the Dead styles, has helped create a world and characters that look great even twenty-two years after the game’s release. Peter McConnell wrote a wonderful jazz soundtrack with South American influences. And this is one of the first games where they paid a lot of attention to the voice acting of the characters, which is why you don’t want to miss a single line.

    Genre : Action RPG.

    Release date : 2001.

Gothic is one of the few 2000s action RPGs on PC that doesn’t really need a mouse. With its help, it is sometimes easier to look around — that’s all. The rest of the control is tied to the keyboard: the same combat works on the arrows and the Ctrl key. Yes, such management at first seems inconvenient, but you quickly get used to it — after all, «Gothic» has something to lure.

The adventure of the nameless hero begins with the fact that he was thrown out to mine ore in a prison under a magical dome, where you can enter but cannot leave. It was thought that the barrier should only close the mines — but due to a mistake by the magicians, it also covered the entire district with the nearest settlements.

The criminals rebelled, killed all the guards and set up their own rules there. The king was forced to accept this and began to trade with them in order to get the ore he needed.

Despite the fact that the hero was assigned to deliver a letter to the magicians stuck behind the barrier, he will have a hard time. Hard labor is filled with thieves, murderers and other rabble, so the right of the strong and a strict hierarchy reigns here. The protagonist is initially nobody; almost everyone you meet will wipe their feet on him. To survive, he will have to earn credibility by hook or by crook and learn to fight.

It’s a small, but very thoughtful world, where the whole environment lives according to its schedule. Not much depends on the leveling method, but there is a choice of three factions, branching quests and a lot of freedom in the open world. But most of all, the atmosphere captivates — where else can you find a game about a fantasy prison.

    Flatout 2

    Genre : arcade car simulator.

    Release date : 2006.

Unexpectedly, one of the best game genres to play without a mouse on a laptop is arcade racing. Most of them need less than ten buttons — to exit the menu, gas, accelerate, brake, turn left and right.

Flatout 2 is hardly the best representative of arcade racing. But there is something in it that can brighten up even the most unsuccessful race for those who do not really like this genre — destructibility.

During the race, the cars deform, and much of what they crash into is shattered into pieces. You experience the real pleasure of how, under Symphony of Destruction, in a broken-down pickup truck, you demolish everything in your path before taking off on a makeshift springboard to cut a little.

And for those who get tired of racing itself, Flatout 2 has a special «stunt stunt» mode. On these tracks, you need to accelerate — and make the driver fly out through the windshield in a special way.

    The Binding of Isaac

    Genre : rogue-lite action-adventure.

    Release date : 2011.

Little boy Isaac hides in the basement from his religious mother, who had a vision that God supposedly ordered her to kill her son. In the dungeon, the poor fellow will face the most disgusting monsters, go through rivers of blood and other horror. True, everything is in a cute retro style.

The Binding of Isaac takes the gameplay of The Legend of Zelda and mixes it with procedural generation. The protagonist shoots enemies with his tears and tries not to get hit.

The randomly generated basement is full of all kinds of secrets, so sometimes it makes sense to blow up the walls to get into secret rooms. At the end of each floor is a boss. Everything is controlled from the keyboard.

An important part of the game is a variety of upgrades that you can pick up, buy or otherwise unlock. They change attacks, improve health, add dangerous flies around the hero. And they are reflected in the appearance of Isaac. After a couple of levels, he is almost unrecognizable.

Despite the apparent simplicity, this is a rather difficult game, where the price of each mistake is high. And coupled with a huge number of types of enemies, modifications of Isaac and everything else, The Binding of Isaac is addictive for a long time.

    Risk of Rain

    Genre : rogue-lite action platformer.

    Release date : 2013.

A humanoid with a sword has destroyed a starship. One of the escape pods containing the player-controlled character crashed onto the planet. They quickly explain the controls — after that, everything is left alone with crowds of monsters and robots, while some kind of timer ticks menacingly in the corner. You have to figure everything out as you go. And it’s damn exciting.

It looks like a side-scrolling pixelated action game with a lot of jumping to do. The main character has several abilities, including shooting. For opening containers and killing, they give experience points, which pump the character and increase his health with damage.

You can also find coins, which will then be used to buy a variety of items: from drones with machine guns to a teddy bear that improves armor. Arrows and a few other keyboard buttons are enough to control, although you still have to use the touchpad a little in the menu.

After a couple of deaths, you finally understand the situation more or less. At each level you need to find a teleport. After its activation, the boss appears, and the enemies crawl out of the ground with even greater persistence. Then new enemies stop appearing, and all the remaining ones need to be killed.

All this is complicated by the fact that there are a lot of them, and each has a decent amount of health. It is worth gaping in the middle of a bunch of monsters — and you will be beaten in a couple of seconds. After the death of all enemies, you need to teleport to a new world — and so on until the very end.

And everything would be fine if not for the timer. And the fact is that every five minutes the complexity of the game increases. There is no time for systematic exploration of locations and leisurely skirmishes — otherwise then all the enemies around will be too strong. You have to immediately look headlong for a teleport, and then shoot everyone around it as quickly as possible.

All this makes Risk of Rain a very driving and hardcore game, where literally every minute counts. On top of that, it has beautiful landscapes, and its soundtrack is great electronic music that is worth listening to even in isolation from the game.

    Darkest Dungeon

Genre : Tactical RPG with rogue-lite elements.

    Release date : 2016.

In many RPG and tactical games, you have to constantly click on the playing field — this is not always convenient with the touchpad. In Darkest Dungeon, in battles you only need to choose skills and items, which is much easier. The main difficulty in controlling without a mouse is occasionally dragging character portraits.

The game begins with a visit to the estate inherited from the uncle, over which a mysterious curse hangs. It’s time to recruit several groups of adventurers and send them to the cursed lands, where you need to destroy monsters and carry away various treasures. And all in order to eventually go to the Darkest Dungeon and deal with the cause of all the troubles of this place.

Before the campaign, you need to assemble a party of four heroes of different classes and supply them with everything you need. On the expedition, the poor fellows will be waiting for a procedurally generated location with traps and enemies. But most importantly, in battles, heroes can not only die, but also get new character traits — most often not the most pleasant ones. And the more stress they experience, the more likely they will go insane.

The madness mechanic suits the dark atmosphere of the game well. The developers were inspired by the works of Lovecraft, which is why Darkest Dungeon is filled with descriptions of unholy rituals, cosmic horrors and despair. The game even copies the style of Mike Mignola, one of the main fans of Lovecraftian horror films in the comics industry.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 520 MB graphics card.

Beautiful first-person shooter in cyberpunk style. The game puts a lot of emphasis on the story — the campaign is long and intense, and the hero can be taught to look through walls and slow down time. And there are a lot of weapons.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM and GeForce 8800 GT graphics card.

    Assassin’s Creed II

The second installment in the legendary Assassin’s Creed series, set in Renaissance Italy. The action is full of gameplay mechanics, and it is also very long in duration. You can spend up to 100 hours on a complete passage.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 256 MB graphics card.

    Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

Assassin’s Creed 4 is set in 1715 in the Caribbean. The protagonist named Edward Kenway fights not only on land: he can surf the seas and hunt whales. According to many critics, the fourth part is one of the best games in the series.

System requirements: Core 2 Quad 2.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 512 MB graphics card.

    Batman: Arkham City

Third-person action game starring Batman. The player will have to fight crime on the streets of Gotham, fight bosses and explore locations. The game has many additional tasks, ways to upgrade and secrets.

    BioShock Infinite

An excellent continuation of the ideas of the original BioShock with a changed setting and a gorgeous partner in the face of Elizabeth. The author of these lines involuntarily fell in love with this girl during the first passage. The set comes with a peppy action game with dynamic shootouts and an ornate plot that just blows your mind at the end.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM and Radeon HD 3870 or NVIDIA 8800 GT graphics card.

    Splinter Cell: Conviction

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 512 MB graphics card.

    Call of Juarez: Gunslinger

Stylish first-person shooter in the Wild West setting. The game is reminiscent of a comic book, especially with the plot — the story is told through a boring cowboy dialogue in a bar. He allegedly recalls his youth, how he killed bandits in whole batches. Shooting in this game is pleasant, and the abundance of unusual situations keeps you in good shape until the final credits.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 512 MB graphics card.

    Darksiders II

The second Darksiders noticeably added in dynamics compared to the first part and turned into an open-world role-playing game. The protagonist — the rider of the Apocalypse Death — is trying to restore the world after the cataclysm, destroying crowds of evil spirits. If you like it, then try the first part — it is more linear and resembles Devil May Cry.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 9 graphics card800 GT.

    Spec Ops: The Line

Third-person shooter with cover set in the sandy streets of Dubai. The game catches with its unusual style, very “meaty” shootouts and a very cool plot of the BioShock Infinite level.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GT graphics card.

    Prince of Persia (2008)

The relaunch of Prince of Persia brought the action back to its fairy tale roots, but did not continue the plot of the original games: everything is different here. Instead of fighting with hordes of evil spirits — lonely bosses. Instead of the usual acrobatics — magic tricks with an immortal partner. But the game only benefited from this: it is simple and very interesting.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 256 MB graphics card.

    The Darkness II

A direct sequel to the original The Darkness, which was never released on PC. The sequel has more colorful and vibrant graphics, as well as an abundance of black humor. System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.6 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 256 MB graphics card.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 256 MB graphics card.

    Stardew Valley

Colorful farm development simulator in pixel style. The game was created by just one developer, who still supports it with various updates. In addition to the single player mode, Stardew Valley features co-op via multiplayer.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 256 MB graphics card.

One of the best slashers to date. In it, the player takes on the role of the witch Bayonetta, destroying opponents with stylish weapons and numerous combinations. In addition to exploring locations and awesome boss fights, the game has a lot of secret content.

System requirements: Intel Core i3-3220, 4 GB RAM and GeForce GTX 570 graphics card. The game is a fast-paced third-person slasher starring the charismatic Dante. The demon hunter will have to join forces with his brother Virgil to overthrow the dictator. We advise you to immediately buy with DLC to play as Virgil — you will not regret it. You can also take a closer look at Devil May Cry 4 — it has a more sophisticated combat system and several characters are available.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2 GHz, 2 GB RAM and GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card.

    Resident Evil 4

The cult game of the Resident Evil franchise, recognized as one of the most breakthrough of its time. And although it is quite old (it turned 15 this year), RE4 still brings incredible pleasure.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM and GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card.

    The Evil Within

After leaving Capcom, Resident Evil 4 creator Shinji Mikami released his first standalone game called The Evil Within. In fact, this is the same Resident Evil 4, but with a deeper and more variable pumping, as well as with even more powerful psychedelia. And yes, it’s a terrible game. If you like it, we advise you to play the sequel — it’s even better.

System requirements: Intel Core i7 or equivalent, 4 GB RAM and GeForce GTX 460 graphics card.

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution

Relaunch of the iconic Deus Ex series. The game is an RPG with the ability to choose the style of passing and pump the character in various ways. However, the most preferred option is to eliminate opponents silently, using augmentations and weapons with a silencer.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz, 2 GB RAM and GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card.

    Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

A direct sequel to Human Revolution. The game develops the plot of the original and offers even more room for tactics due to the increased number of skills. The sequel significantly added to the dynamics: the authors redrawn the balance so that the main character Adam Jensen used skills more often and more actively entered into an open battle.

System requirements: Intel Core i3-2100, 8 GB RAM and GeForce GTX 660 graphics card.

First-person stealth action game. The player assumes the role of exiled Corvo Attano and avenges the death of his ruler. The action offers many options for passing and flexible pumping with an abundance of combat and tactical skills.

System requirements: 3 GHz processor, 3 GB of RAM and GeForce GTX 460-level graphics card.

    Mass Effect 2

For the second Mass Effect, the Canadian studio BioWare seriously worked on the mistakes of the original and presented the best game of the trilogy. ME2 has an independent and interesting storyline with colorful characters, and the combat system has become faster and more aggressive. In this part, the commander has a partner Miranda, which makes her even more top-notch.

System requirements: Core 2 Duo 1.8 GHz, 2 GB RAM and 256 MB graphics card.

    XCOM 2

The best turn-based tactic to date. XCOM has absorbed everything for which the games of the genre are loved. During the passage of the story campaign, you can take on missions of different fighters with unique skills and combine them. Between missions, the player will have to upgrade their own ship in order to gain access to the best upgrades.

Any multiplayer game only gets better when played with friends. And even if you’re in different cities and can’t go to each other’s houses to participate in co-op adventures in split-screen or have fun parties with games, there will still be projects that will help you unite. It is about them that we will tell in this collection.

    Online games with several friends

Here are the best games that we think are perfect for a large company (from four people or more). But if you haven’t gained so much, don’t worry, it’s also quite interesting to pass them together.

    Monster Hunter: World

    • Players: 4

In this co-op action RPG, you have to hunt down and conquer numerous fantasy creatures created by Japanese game makers Capcom.

The essence of the game is endless grinding: you will kill monsters to get resources, to create equipment to kill even more powerful monsters — and so on ad infinitum. The developers are constantly updating the game with fresh content, including unusual collaborations — like an add-on with characters and monsters from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

    Borderlands series

    • Number of players: 4

Borderlands is a co-op looter shooter with mountains of weapons, tens of thousands of enemies and great dark humor. With each new part, the series gets better and better — the degree of madness rises, the plot gets better, and it’s impossible to tear yourself away from what is happening on the screen.

We’ve compiled the second and third installments of the series — and we highly recommend checking them out if you haven’t already.

    Borderlands 2Borderlands 3

    Rainbow Six Siege

    • Players: 5

In the online shooter game Rainbow Six Siege, you can form a team with your friends and fight against other players in intense competitive matches, as well as fight off waves of bots in co-op mode. In any case, the game will give you a lot of positive impressions due to well-thought-out tactical gameplay.

    Don’t Starve Together

    • Number of players: 6

This survival sim challenges players to battle the horrors of a nightmarish underworld where anything can kill characters, from cold and hunger to monsters and mental illness.

The original game was focused on solo survival, but the add-on (which does not require Don’t Starve) allows you to play online with friends — which, however, does not increase the chances of winning.

    Destiny 2

    • Players: 6

The popular shooter Destiny 2 was originally designed for cooperative gameplay, so it’s great for a group of friends. Here you will find an exciting storyline, a large selection of character classes and weapons, as well as numerous missions, raids, tasks and so on.

In September 2019, the base part of the game became completely free, so you can freely download it on Steam and join the adventure.

    Divinity: Original Sin 2

    • Players: 4

D:OS2 is a unique RPG. It can be played by four people, but it is not just another diabloid with endless battles. On the contrary, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is a real CRPG with detailed characters, branching dialogues and complete freedom of choice. And here the developers managed to implement a gameplay in which each player will become a full-fledged hero and will be able to move the plot along with his partners — or embark on his own journey, separated from the group.

    Warhammer: Vermintide 2

    • Players: 4

A cooperative role-playing action game that will take you to a dark fantasy world where you and your friends will have to survive by destroying thousands of monsters, collecting valuable loot and upgrading your characters.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 focuses on interaction between players, so it is advisable to get trusted allies for co-op — playing with randoms can greatly spoil the gameplay experience.

    Grim Dawn

    • Players: 4

A curious hack’n’slash in the spirit of Diablo and Titan Quest allows players to gather a company to clear locations from various monsters — of course, in the name of saving the world. In addition to constant battles, the game also has a huge selection of skills and perks, an equipment crafting system, character build building and a lot of quests.

    World War Z

    • Number of players: 4

Based on the movie of the same name, the game will take you on a journey to the world’s largest cities, including Moscow and New York, where you will have to face hordes of the living dead. Zombie shooter from the studio Saber Interactive turned out to be a very worthy option for spending time together.

    Sea of Thieves

    • Players: 4

Sea of Thieves is an MMO action game about pirates that perfectly captures the spirit of adventure and requires perfect teamwork. A ship will not go to sea if the crew does not learn to set sail and lay a course, and will sink quickly in the first skirmish if the sailors do not fire cannons and bail water from the hold. But well-coordinated work will certainly be rewarded with mountains of treasures.

    The Division 2

    • Players: 4

In Ubisoft’s post-apocalyptic action RPG, you’ll explore a world that has fallen into chaos after a devastating terrorist attack. And here, reliable friends will be more than appropriate: against marauders, bandits and fanatics, a loner will not last long, and raids are even more so designed only for joint passage. Team interaction is also emphasized by specializations that allow players to fulfill different roles in the squad, complementing each other.

    Left 4 Dead 2

    • Players: 4

This zombie shooter has been out for a long time, which makes it ideal for owners of weak PCs. You and your friends are waiting for cooperative races in various locations and battles with zombie hordes led by an AI director who simulates game situations based on the state of the main characters. If you get tired of escaping from monsters, you can take their side and hunt for survivors. Thanks to this, as well as a huge number of cards in the Workshop, the game boasts almost endless replay value.

    • Players: 4

A killer co-op 2D shooter with full destructible environments, a huge selection of brutal characters from classic action movies and imposing bosses. Broforce will pull you in with an exciting story campaign, give you the opportunity to have a good time in PvP Deathmatch mode, and also offer you to be creative in the custom level editor.

You can also download new missions and entire campaigns from the Workshop to continue your adventure even after the campaign is over.

    Forza Horizon Series

    • Players: 4

Part of England open for exploration, more than 450 cars with tuning and customization, flexible difficulty settings from arcade to near-car simulator, regular change of seasons — what else do you need for a good racing game? Is it just the ability to race with friends in a variety of competitive modes with customizable rules. All of the above is in Forza Horizon 4 — probably the best arcade race of our time.

The fourth part did not retain this title for long, giving way to its younger sister — the fifth part turned out to be more beautiful, more realistic and larger. In it, you alone, or better with friends, will travel through the expanses of beautiful Mexico, which is known for its diverse biomes, collect new cars in your collection and participate in activities that will take you headlong.

    Forza Horizon 4Forza Horizon 5

    • Players: 4

Warframe is an example of how a free-to-play game can be successful without emptying players’ wallets. Yes, there is a donut here, just like in any other free-to-play game, but you can bend over here without financial investments. Well, joint missions here are worthy of all praise. If you are loyal to the grind in games, Warframe will be the best (and, most importantly, free) entertainment for your company.

    State of Decay 2

    • Players: 4

Fans of the zombie action game State of Decay asked the developers to add co-op to the sequel — and they listened to the requests. Together with your friends, you can build a base, explore the world in search of resources and survivors who agree to join your settlement, and, of course, fight the living dead.

    Ghost Recon Wildlands

    • Players: 4

Ghost Recon Wildlands invites players to free sunny Bolivia from a drug cartel that has settled there. A huge world, a large selection of weapons and three faithful companions next to you — what more could you want?

Tactical shooter gives you complete freedom of action and choice of ways to complete missions, so you can experiment by sneaking into the enemy base or storming it using all available guns. Ubisoft is already preparing a sequel to the game: you will not be left without adventures.

    • Players: 8

This action game was a hit on Steam, selling over a million copies in its first month of release, which is pretty good for early access. Here you can team up with your friends and take on AI opponents in Horde co-op mode, or jump into competitive multiplayer with massive castle siege battles.

As for the gameplay, it will please you with a good balance between realism and dynamics, where you are in complete control of your character. Well, one cannot fail to mention blood and dismemberment — any action in a medieval setting will be inferior without these elements.

    Magicka 2

    • Players: 4

Co-op, magic and humor — these three elephants are the basis for the gameplay of the exciting action game Magicka 2. You will travel through fantasy lands where you will meet unusual characters and fight hilarious monsters.

The game features an interesting combat system: there are no knights or archers, and the main roles of magicians use various elemental spells and their combinations (which you will have to invent yourself). Add to that the friendly fire that can be disabled and you have a chaotic but very fun game for a group of friends!

    Torchlight 2

    • Players: 6

Torchlight 2 is a diabloid that has got as close as possible to its ideological inspirer: the game draws you in with endless battles, constant sorting of loot in the inventory, a variety of monsters and interesting character upgrades. And the support of the Steam Workshop makes it possible to extend the adventure even after the content of the main game has been completed «from and to».

    Human: Fall Flat

    • Players: 4

A physics-based puzzle that encourages creativity in problem solving. On each map (the whole game is, in fact, a set of locations not related to the plot), participants are given complete freedom of action: the same obstacle can be climbed over, bypassed, destroyed, and so on. The main characters give a special charm to the game — clumsy, slow, but very charming little men, whose ridiculous falls will cause you explosions of laughter more than once.

    • Players: 4

Grounded is an unusual survival simulator set in the garden of an ordinary house. The heroes are teenagers, who have significantly decreased in size — and therefore the colorful garden turns into an impenetrable and dangerous jungle for them. They have to look for food and weapons, as well as avoid encounters with ants and spiders.

The developers managed to implement an excellent idea — you must admit, the topic is quite interesting. It is much more fun to survive in the microworld with friends — in the company you can search for precious resources together and build shelters from leaves.

    Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

    • Players: 10

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is a casual multiplayer arcade game with bright graphics that has been breaking online records since the start. Players are invited to take part in mass races (up to 60 players), from which only one will emerge victorious. The stages are varied — there are races, team games, «tags» and others.

Fun awaits gamers every meter of the competition — they have to overcome bizarre obstacles, try to overtake a crowd of rivals and break the laws of physics. A good-looking game will be a real challenge for experienced gamers who are used to winning, and great fun for a big company.

    Risk of Rain 2

    • Players: 4

Hardcore 3D roguelike shooter with over 60,000 positive reviews on Steam. Players have to clear levels on fantastic planets, collect artifacts and fight strong bosses. And in order not to break the keyboard and mouse, we recommend playing Risk of Rain with friends.

Each playthrough in the game is unique due to the variety of heroes, enemies, items and bosses. Enemies get stronger with each cleared level — so, in the later stages (if you manage to survive), the gamer will meet bosses in the role of ordinary enemies.

    The Escapist 2

    • Players: 4

The Escapist 2 is a prison escape simulator. Once imprisoned, the player and his friends must come up with an escape plan. He can change into a guard, dig a tunnel, saw through the grate… There are a lot of ways to escape in The Escapist 2, but you should not forget to follow the elementary prison rules — go to roll call, have breakfast, work. Otherwise, the guards will quickly deal with the gamer.

There are several prisons in the game. Do you think it’s easy to escape from a train or a space station?

    Killing Floor series

    • Number of players : 6

Killing Floor is a series of first-person shooter games in which players team up and work together against hordes of mutants and zombies, and at the end they try to defeat a strong boss. At that shortest time between waves of enemies, you can go to the store and prepare for the next batch.

Of the features worth noting: an impressive arsenal (from knives to a flamethrower), a system of improvements, a non-linear game world, the ability to build barricades. An excellent game for a group of friends, in which only teamwork will lead to victory.

    Killing FloorKilling Floor 2

    Overcooked! 2

    • Number of players: 4

A colorful arcade game that sends gamers to the Onion Kingdom. Here, all issues are resolved with knives and pots — the gameplay comes down to the joint preparation of various dishes for a while.

One gamer can’t manage here — it’s better to call friends and assign roles. Some will be engaged in roasting, others in slicing, others in baking … Together, players will not only complete difficult levels, but will also be able to score a record number of points, which will help them shine on the leaderboard.

    Deep Rock Galactic

    • Players: 4

Deep Rock Galactic tells a sci-fi story about gnomes traveling the galaxy in search of valuable resources. The technologies of the future did not deprive the race of their favorite pastime — digging in the mine. Once on another planet, they go to the cave system and on the way to riches manage to kill the horde of monsters and dig long tunnels.

This game will delight you with dynamic battles, fully destructible environments, a procedurally generated cave system and four classes of heroes. There is a co-op for up to four players.

    Streets of Rage 4

    • Players: 4

The sequel to the classic beat’em’up series that debuted back in 1991. The plot takes place 10 years after the events of the third part — the villain Mr. X is defeated, but his children, Mr. and Mrs. Ygrek, who also cause chaos on the streets, come to replace him.

The fourth part has modern graphics and classic gameplay — alone or in the company of friends, players will have to clear the levels, controlling familiar and new characters. Nothing superfluous — just hardcore fights, first-aid kits in the form of chickens and plot inserts in the style of a comic book.

    Minecraft Dungeons

    • Players: 4

Minecraft Dungeons has been added to the Minecraft universe in 2020. Immersed in a familiar cubic world, players will explore randomly generated dungeons filled with mob battles, puzzles, and treasure. In adventures, you can find weapons, tools and armor that will help make your character unique, whether you are a mage or a warrior.

Breaking and placing blocks, as in the original Minecraft, is not allowed — the gameplay is focused on clearing dungeons. However, not all mobs and bosses are easy to deal with, so it’s best to call your friends for help.

    • Players: 4

SnowRunner is a realistic off-road simulator that simulates the work of drivers in difficult conditions. Getting bogged down in the mud here is easier than stepping on the pedal, and hauling loads will require diligence and skill. Realism can be traced in every detail, and it is better to see once than endlessly describe.

Co-op mode is designed for 4 players who will take on difficult challenges. It is noteworthy that if the first user will pass on a loose road without problems, then the latter will have to wade through the deformed surface with difficulty and mats. And therefore, joint work can turn into additional difficulties.

    Moving Out

    • Players: 4

Moving Out is a fun moving truck simulator with realistic physics and doll characters. In the company of friends, gamers will be engaged in the transportation of various goods — from furniture to explosives.

Sounds simple, but it’s actually more interesting as players need to overcome obstacles and solve mini-puzzles while coping with challenging controls. We would not hire such a moving company, because they can easily break windows and kick doors if this way seems easier. We definitely recommend.

    Ready or Not

    • Players: 4

Cooperative tactical shooter for four people about the harsh everyday life of special forces soldiers, and not the one shown in Counter-Strike, but more realistic — with friends you will carefully prepare for a difficult operation, choose the right equipment, and then go into the thick of it and, using all tactical skill and caution, try to neutralize the terrorists and save the hostages.

    Remnant: From The Ashes

    • Players: 3

Souls-like action, but with firearms — with your friends you will find yourself on a strange island that has been shackled by the apocalypse. As you will soon find out, its roots extend to other worlds — that’s where you will go to destroy monsters and look for the cause of the disaster.

Remnant: From The Ashes will delight you with difficult battles that will use the abilities of different classes of heroes, interesting leveling depending on achievements, non-aggressive farming and a pleasant, gloomy atmosphere.

    • Players: 4

Another team-based shooter, but with a twist on horror — your team will go to a creepy underground complex, in the dark corners of which monsters are hiding. Dealing with them, as in Left 4 Dead, will not work — they are scary, they hurt, and if they attack in a crowd, then write wasted. Therefore, be patient, constantly coordinate actions, use advanced equipment and remember that ammunition can run out at the most inopportune moment.

    • Players: 10

Valheim is an adventure RPG, sandbox and survival all in one, steeped in Norse mythology. A detachment of brave Vikings will have to land on a huge island and devote themselves to various things — to get resources to build a house, to cook dinner so as not to die of hunger, or to travel to uncharted regions to go for treasures guarded by mythological monsters and harsh bosses.

    • Players: 4

Are you and your friends interested in space adventures? Then one of the best entertainment on this topic will be Astroneer — according to the idea of this game, a new gold rush came in the 25th century, but already on a galactic scale, and crowds of enthusiasts went to conquer the planets in the hope of getting rich. Join them and you — get ready to survive in unusual conditions, modify the surface of the planets with the help of advanced technologies, build bases, build rovers and unravel the mysteries of the solar system.

    Back 4 Blood

    • Players: 4

Shooter Back 4 Blood became the ideological successor of Left 4 Dead, which was created by the same people. A team of four survivors will have to arrange a marathon from one shelter to another, exterminating hordes of zombies along the way, and the main innovation is the map system, with which you can make the race easier or harder. And, of course, the game has a modern picture that will please those who are tired of the old Left 4 Dead.

    Online games with one friend

In this section, excellent games are aimed at playing together with a close friend.

    A Way Out

Perhaps one of the best adventure games with a friend online or on the same computer. The developers have created an action game that cannot be completed alone: AI does not take on the role of a partner, so you will have to look for a live partner to solve puzzles and participate in skirmishes. But it’s worth it: A Way Out immerses you in the atmosphere of a road trip, gives genuine emotions and leaves a pleasant aftertaste after the final credits.

    It Takes Two

The creators of A Way Out have given us another charming co-op adventure that can now be recommended to people of all ages and preferences, and especially suitable for families. It Takes Two follows two lovers who have been turned into little ragdolls as they work together to figure out how to get back home by solving puzzles, surviving intense action scenes in the microcosm, and mending holes in their relationships.

    Resident Evil 5

The Resident Evil series needs no introduction: for decades, its games have told us the story of the fight against sinister corporations that produce bioweapons. The fifth part of the line has become one of the best — not least due to high-quality co-op for two, where players do not just fight zombies, but act as a team, covering each other in battles and solving puzzles.

    Portal 2

Portal 2 is a great solo adventure with charismatic characters, hilarious humor and moderately difficult puzzles. And it’s also a great cooperative adventure: the joint campaign turned out to be no worse than the single one, and the levels, designed for passing in pairs, will force players to rack their brains over solving local puzzles. Valve even took care of those who play with each other for the first time: the gesture system allows you to understand your partner without words.

    Conan Unconquered

In this relatively fresh strategy from Funcom, you and a friend have to fight off waves of oncoming enemies, dividing one fortress into two. The number of monsters is incalculable, but you also have something to counter them: the game has a large selection of military units, defensive towers and traps, an extensive technology tree, as well as the ability to call for help from a divine avatar that can deal with any threat in a matter of minutes.

    Far Cry 5

By the fifth part, the Far Cry series has finally taken shape in a «sandbox» where players can do whatever they want. Playing in co-op was allowed in previous releases of the franchise, but only in Far Cry 5 the formula was brought to perfection: you can go through the story campaign with a friend, and when you get tired of completing missions, have fun in the open world, fighting endless crowds of religious fanatics from the American outback. Well, to do this as efficiently (and spectacularly) as possible, a huge selection of weapons and vehicles will help you.

    Fade to Silence

In this action role-playing game, you have to survive in a world that has been frozen as a result of a global catastrophe. Fade to Silence is interesting not so much for crafting and building systems, not so much for Dark Souls-style battles with local monsters and not so much for cleansing the world of otherworldly infection, but for a stunning winter atmosphere that perfectly conveys the deadly charm of an icy desert.

Of course, fighting demons and riding wolf sleds is better in the company of a faithful partner, so call a friend and set off to conquer the post-apocalyptic world.

    We Were Here Together

We Were Here Together is a cooperative puzzle game with horror elements. Two Antarctic explorers in search of colleagues stumble upon the sinister castle of Castle Rock. Unfortunately, they are separated, but the tests that await them inside require teamwork. Luckily, they brought their walkie-talkies.

In this game you will constantly be in touch with each other, but at the same time you will not see what is happening in his location. The answer to the riddle in the first player’s room may be in the second player’s room. Thus, the game will check how much the players understand each other: they can grasp everything on the fly or quarrel and stay in the castle forever.

Darksiders Genesis is a prequel to the series, and this game is very different from its predecessors. This is a cooperative isometric action game similar to Diablo, in which players will take on the roles of War and Strife and try to prevent a conspiracy that lies in the depths of Hell.

The experiment benefited the series — players will still fight with demons and angels, but at the same time, the degree of action has increased significantly, and the gameplay has diversified various elements (game items, abilities, power-ups for weapons, and others). It is especially pleasing that now you can explore the world of Darksiders with a friend over the network.

He also learns which organs he hit, which looks very impressive. You can always enlist the support of a friend — going through missions together is much more fun.

In addition to the brilliant single-player campaigns and hot multiplayer, Call of Duty games also offer co-op activities such as the original Modern Warfare, you can play special operations for two and try out the survival mode against waves of enemies, and in Black Ops and some other parts there is a zombie mode that offers to confront hordes of undead Nazis.

If you and your friend have strong nerves and are looking for something more difficult, then you will not find a better Cuphead platformer. The game has a cute-deceptive cartoon-like look from the last century, and in fact it will take you through difficult fights with various enemies, in which one small mistake can lead to restarting the level.

    Synthetik Series

A co-op roguelike shooter with a fantasy setting in which death is not reversible: if you lose, new levels, enemies and items await you.

Synthetik is impressive in two ways. The first is an unusual combat mechanic for a top-down shooter with headshots and not the most reliable weapons that can jam and overheat. The second is a variable leveling system that allows you to make a unique soldier with different technologies, abilities and weapons.

    Far Cry series

Co-op first appeared in this tower-capturing adventure game in the third part, but the mode involves separate missions and just joint walks through the open world.

In Far Cry 5, friends are finally allowed to join forces for the passage of the story campaign — get ready to get rid of the tyrant terrorizing the island, shoot the bandits with various weapons, hunt animals, ride like a breeze through open spaces and do other interesting things.

    Chicory: A Colorful Tale

Chicory: A Colorful Tale doesn’t actually have online co-op, but this problem is solved by the «Remote Play Together» feature on Steam. The game is a cute RPG adventure with elements of metroidvania, in which you and a friend will literally return the colors to a dying world — armed with brushes and the creative skills of the heroes, you will paint everything around you, solve cute puzzles, choose outfits for the characters and take a break from the bloodshed and cruelty.

    Operation: Tango

A spy and hacker asymmetric co-op adventure — these two guys have to take down a global cyber threat without seeing each other: the hacker sits at the computer and directs the spy, and the spy will have to intelligibly explain what he sees before his eyes. Thus, each puzzle turns into unforgettable fun, and such fruitful teamwork will definitely strengthen friendship.

    Wolfenstein: Youngblood

This game was developed by MachineGames (Wolfenstein: The New Order) and Arkane Studios (Dishonored, Prey) — the first team was responsible for shooting, the second worked on creating branching locations and storytelling.

Youngblood is a whirlwind co-op shooter set in an alternate ’80s setting where the daughters of BJ Blaskowitz take on the Nazis in every way they can with a vast arsenal of weapons and unique abilities.
