Viewing the performance found on the 7 year old GeForce GTX 1050 while playing Fortnite: Chapter 2 we quickly see it can get a very strong 92 FPS. With that performance recorded at 1920×1080 res when running High graphics.
At 1440p this graphics card will cost $3.00 for each of the 50 frames it can get on Ultra. But it will be a solid gaming experience.
The optimum resolution for the GeForce GTX 1050 here is 1080p, where it can push out reliable frame rates all day at Ultra. Put in to the system the required 8GB system memory and a processor thats as good as the Intel Core i5-6500 3.2GHz and you have a great Fortnite: Chapter 2 experience.
To summarise, Fortnite: Chapter 2 works very well with a GeForce GTX 1050.

Playing Fortnite on the GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, which is a 7 year old graphics card will likely return a consistently high 106 frame rate. That result is taken on High graphics and a screen resolution of 1080p.
This GPU could comfortably run 1440p at Ultra graphics but you could also consider bumping it up to 4K resolution, which would get 71 frames per second on Medium settings and 48 on High.
