journalists were not happy with the GeForce RTX 4060
Journalists and bloggers shared their opinion about the GeForce RTX 4060. As with the RTX 4070 and 4070 Ti, the main problem with the 4060 was the price-performance ratio. The new product from NVIDIA is sold for $300, but in aggregate it is inferior to its cheaper competitor RX 7600, as well as RTX 3060 Ti. The only plus of the RTX 4060, apart from DLSS 3 support, is energy efficiency.
RTX 4060 specifications:
- Memory — 8 GB GDDR6;
- Base clock — 1.83 GHz;
- Boost Clock — 2.46 GHz;
- Memory bus width — 128 bits;
- Number of CUDA cores — 3072;
- Power consumption — 160 W.
The
RTX 4060 delivers good performance at 1080p in all games we tested. On average, it produces 85-90 frames per second. The graphics card was 2-4% ahead of the RX 7600 and 15% ahead of the RTX 3060 with 12 GB. At the same time, the model lost 12% to the RTX 3060 Ti.
At 1440p, the RTX 4060 was outperformed by the RX 7600 and RTX 3060 Ti, but outperformed the RTX 3060 by 9-12%. According to journalists, the increase is too weak, given that the 3060 is a video card of the last generation.
Journalists and bloggers called the RTX 4060 a poor choice to upgrade from lower RTX 30 cards. A video card is only worth buying when upgrading from an RTX 20. But even in this case, reviewers recommend taking a closer look at the more profitable RX 7600, which is almost not inferior in performance to the RTX 4060 , but costs an average of 15% cheaper.
Experts also advise to wait for the price drop, which should happen in the next couple of months. However, for example, PC Gamer believes that lowering the cost will not help the new product with 8 GB of video memory.

In April 2022, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 became the most popular video card again, maintaining its leadership for many months in a row.
Graphics accelerator ranked first with 6.94%, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 settled on the second with 6.27%, and the third moved away NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 5.45%.
Among the operating systems, 64-bit Windows 10 (73.55%) is in undoubted demand, noticeably overtaking the newcomer in the face of Windows 11 (18.94%) and the last three leaders Windows 7 (2.93%).

- The most popular screen resolution is 1920×1080 pixels
