Like any good business partner, a laptop used in an office environment needs to meet certain criteria: It must perform well, last a long time, and not give away any of your trade secrets. You also want it to make you look good. The EliteBook 8460p ($1,199 as tested) exceeds all of those requirements. This redesigned notebook sports a rock-solid but elegant aluminum finish and features a silky smooth glass touchpad and improved SRS sound. Just as important, this system combines second-generation Core i5 power and AMD graphics with enough battery life to get you through those marathon meetings. Add in top-notch security tools and you have a notebook that lives up to its name. Is the latest EliteBook the king of business machines?

Design and Durability

The EliteBook 8460p benefits from HP’s revamped DuraCase design. Decked out in a cool platinum color, this business laptop features a bead-blasted aluminum lid (which minimizes smudges and fingerprints) and a brushed aluminum deck. We also appreciate the large button on the front of the notebook for easily unlocking the lid, and subtle touches such as the engraved EliteBook logo to the left of the touchpad. Overall, the 8460p has a sleeker, more modern aesthetic than the latest Dell Latitudes and Lenovo ThinkPads.

The 8460p’s durability continues with cast titanium-alloy hinges, as well as a new DisplaySafe frame that has a ring of rubber around the entire bezel to protect the screen. HP used magnesium for the base, which features an easily removable panel for upgrading components. To prevent damage from liquids, the laptop features both a spill-resistant keyboard and a bottom-case drain for spills. Like Dell’s Latitude E6420, HP says the 8460p is tough enough to meet the MIL-STD 810G standards for drops, vibration, dust, temperature, and shock.

The trade-off for this robustness is that the EliteBook 8460p is thicker and heavier than its predecessor. This machine weighs 5.4 pounds and measures 13 x 9.1 x 1.3 inches, while the 8440 weighed 5.2 pounds and was 1.2 inches thick. The Toshiba Tecra R840 has a much sleeker 1.1-inch profile and weighs 4.6 pounds—making it easier to carry in a backpack—but it’s not as rugged. To be fair, the Dell Latitude E6420’s tri-metal chassis is just as thick as the EliteBook and weighs 6.2 pounds with a nine-cell battery.

Keyboard

Typing on the EliteBook 8460p is a pleasure, thanks to a spacious isolated-style layout with keys that provide strong tactile feedback. The keys also have a slightly gritty texture and a subtle curvature that made the experience comfortable. Our only complaint is that the Enter key is a bit small, as are the Up and Down arrows. While the keyboard isn’t backlit, you can press a button above the screen to pop out a small LED that partly illuminates the deck.

A narrow and recessed power button sits above the keyboard on the left, and to the right you’ll find three quick-access buttons for toggling the Wi-Fi connection, launching Internet Explorer, and muting the audio. When the EliteBook 8460p is off, the second button launches QuickWeb for getting online without booting Windows.

Touchpad and Pointing Stick

HP makes a big deal about the fact that the EliteBook 8460p features a chemically strengthened glass touchpad. (Apple also uses glass for its MacBook line.) We could easily glide the cursor across the wide—but not very tall—4 x 1.9-inch surface. Pinching to zoom worked fairly well, despite a bit of lag, as did the rotate and two-finger scroll gestures. We also easily three-finger-flicked through photos.

We encountered one alarming glitch early on in our testing. On two occasions, the cursor seemed to disappear each and every time we put our finger on the touchpad, even though the pointing stick continued to work properly. However, updating the Synaptics driver seemed to fix the issue. Even after the update, though, we found that accidentally brushing up against the touchpad with our left hand while trying to move the cursor stopped us in our tracks.

Business users who prefer a pointing stick will find a decent one between the G and H keys. With plenty of separation between the keyboard and stick, the raised nub is easy to find by feel, but the concave shape made manipulating the cursor somewhat slippery until we got the hang of it. We prefer the convex, grippy surface of Lenovo’s TrackPoints. The two sets of mouse buttons, which are wide and have a rubberized feel, worked well.

Display and Audio

The EliteBook 8460p features a 200-nit, 14-inch display. The matte panel looks fairly bright, but we had to push the lid back further than we’d like to prevent images from washing out. While we could make out plenty of detail in an episode of Glee played on Hulu, horizontal viewing angles were narrow.

For a business laptop, the EliteBook 8460p pumps out a fair amount of volume. The two speakers on the left side of the system—one on the front lip and one on the bottom—got fairly loud when we played «Ready to Start» from Arcade Fire and «Pyro» from Kings of Leon on Slacker. The SRS Premium Sound control panel lets you easily enhance the audio for music, voice, or movies.

Ports and HD Webcam

The left side of the EliteBook 8460p houses the DVD drive, ExpressCard slot, SD Card slot, two USB 3.0 ports, FireWire (though we don’t know who still uses that), and a power jack. A headphone, microphone, USB 2.0/eSATA port, and another USB 2.0 port that can charge gadgets line the right side of the laptop, along with a DisplayPort and lock slot. The bottom of the 8460p has a docking connector.

The EliteBook 8460p features an HD webcam that record footage up to 720p. Using the HP webcam software, the footage we recorded exhibited good color accuracy but we noticed a fair amount of pixelation at full screen. Video chats in a smaller window over Skype looked better.

Heat

Given that the chassis has plenty of room for ventilation, we weren’t surprised by the EliteBook 8460’s cool temperatures. After playing a Hulu video for 15 mintues, the EliteBook 8460p registered 90 degrees between the G and H keys, 88 degrees on the touchpad, and 89 on the bottom of the laptop. Those numbers are all well below the 95-degree threshold, when things start to get uncomfortable.

Performance

Our configuration of the EliteBook 8460p packs a 2.5-GHz Intel Core i5-2520M processor, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB 7,200-rpm hard drive, and a 1GB AMD Radeon HD 6470M graphics card. In PCMark Vantage, which measures overall system performance, the notebook scored 6,449. While that showing beats the 14-inch laptop category average (4,997), the Toshiba Tecra R840 (which has the same CPU, RAM, and a 7,200-rpm hard drive) scored a higher 7,728. However, the cheaper $1,079 Fujitsu LifeBook S751 (2.5-GHz Intel Core i5-2410M, 4GB of RAM, 320GB, 7,200-rpm hard drive, and Intel HD 3000 graphics) earned 7,983.

In everyday use the EliteBook 8460p proved to be a snappy performer. The laptop had no problem jumping between several open Internet Explorer windows or streaming HD video. You can also edit video quickly on this machine. The 8460p transcoded a 114 MB MPEG-4 video to the AVI format in just 42 seconds. That’s much faster than the category average of more than 2 minutes but within a second or two of competing business notebooks such as the Tecra R840, LifeBook S751, and Dell Latitude E6420.

Despite having a 7,200-rpm hard drive, the EliteBook 8460p didn’t boot very fast into Windows. It took the notebook 1 minute and 10 seconds to give us full control of the desktop, which is slower than the average thin-and-light notebook (64 seconds). However, resuming from sleep was almost instantaneous after pressing the power button. The drive duplicated a 4.97 GB folder with a relatively speed rate of 26.6 MBps, which is faster than the Tecra R480 but slower than the Fujitsu S751 (31.4 MBps) and Dell E6420 (34.6 MBps).

Graphics Performance

Although you can configure the EliteBook 8460p with integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics, our unit had an AMD Radeon HD 6470M card with 1GB of dedicated video memory. This GPU notched a 3DMark06 score of 5,032, which tops the category average by a wide margin (3,328). The Tecra R840 with AMD 6540M graphics (4,369) and LifeBook S751 with Intel graphics (4,809) also fell short of the EliteBook.

If you want to play mainstream games on the side, the EliteBook 8460p is up to the challenge. The laptop racked up 52 frames per second on World of Warcraft at 1366 x 768 with the settings on Good. That rate dropped to a still-decent 27 fps at the max settings. The Tecra R840 scored a lower 42 fps and 22 fps, respectively. We could even play Far Cry 2 at a fast 62 fps clip, albeit at 1024 x 768 resolution. The rate fell to an unplayable 21 fps at native resolution.

Battery Life and Wireless

The EliteBook 8460p has plenty of juice to get workers through most of the day. On our test the six-cell battery lasted 6 hours and 1 minute, which is about an hour longer than the category average. This runtime also beats the LifeBook S751 (4:57) but trails the Tecra R840 (6:34). The Dell Latitude’s nine-cell battery lasted 8:59, but you can always equip the 8460p with a nine-cell as well. In fact, you can combine an optional nine-cell battery ($99) with another nine-cell slice—called the Ultra Extended Life Notebook Battery—for a claimed 32 hours of endurance. However, that’s with wireless turned off.

The Intel Centrino Advanced N 6205 wireless card inside the 8460p delivered mixed performance. It delivered 37.3 Mbps at 15 feet from our router (above the 34.2 Mbps average), but only 18.6 Mbps at 50 feet (below the 22 Mbps average). On the plus side, the HP Connection Manager software makes it simple to turn Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on or off. You’ll still need to use Windows’ own software to connect to hotspots.

Software and Security

Like most business notebooks, the 8460p supports TPM and smart cards, and it comes with a fingerprint reader. But ProtectTools is our favorite security suite among business notebooks. It helps you easily set up and manage passwords and walks you through setting up a Windows password, fingerprint scan, and smart card for logging into Windows or websites. The ProtectTools dashboard on the EliteBook 8460p also includes a link to Computrace for theft protection, as well as quick access to Drive Encryption and File Santizer for shredding files. If you want to add an extra layer of security, you can even use facial recognition in combination with your Bluetooth phone to log into the EliteBook itself or web pages.

Another standout utility from HP is the redesigned QuickWeb, which let us boot up sans Windows in just 16 seconds—once we went through the setup process. QuickWeb has a new slick interface that includes multiple widgets, from weather and CNN news headlines to stock quotes and even a Twitter feed box. You can also delete and add widgets.

Other HP tools include Power Assistant, which helps you conserve battery life and monitor power consumption, Recovery Manager, and Support Assistant. A copy of Microsoft Office 2010 Starter, Norton Internet Security, Roxio MyDVD, and Skype also come pre-loaded.

Configuration Options

HP offers several SmartBuy configurations of the EliteBook 8460p that are ready to order. The entry-level model costs $999 and includes a 2.3-GHz Core i5 processor, 4GB of RAM, a 320GB hard drive, Intel HD 3000 graphics, and Broadcom 802.11n wireless. Stepping up to our $1,199 configuration gets you a faster 2.5-GHz CPU, AMD Radeon graphics, and an Intel Wi-Fi card. Other options include Core i7 processors, a 1600 x 900 display, docking station, and a 128GB solid state drive.

Support and Warranty

HP backs the EliteBook 8460p with a three-year standard parts and labor warranty with 24/7 technical phone support. See how HP fared in our Tech Support Showdown and in our Best and Worst Laptop Brands report.

Verdict

HP has created an excellent business partner in the EliteBook 8460p. The redesign is sleek and durable, it performs well, and lasts a long time on a charge. We also like the above-average sound quality, comfy keyboard, and smooth and accurate glass touchpad, as well as the helpful security tools. Our only reservations about this $1,199 notebook are that it’s slightly heavy and bulky for a 14-inch machine and that the pointing stick isn’t as good as what the competition offers. Overall, though, the EliteBook 8460p is a compelling business laptop.

The EliteBook 8460p is a 14 inch laptop that you can purchase in USA for $231.48 for today.

The EliteBook 8460p has a common for laptops 14 inch screen size: it keeps a good compromise between having a convenient screen and still remaining fairly portable. The EliteBook 8460p has not very good image quality. 1280×720 resolution is bad for convenient usage of the computer and we recommend to select the device with better resolution like Sony VAIO CW Series VPC-CW26FX/L.

The EliteBook 8460p uses a rather fast Dual-Core Intel Core i5 (2nd Gen) 2450M processor. As it uses two cores it will allow a computer to do multiple things at the same time. To get really great performance it is better to select a laptop with Quad-Core processor like Lenovo IdeaPad Y460p 439524U Black Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM.

The 4 GB of RAM is minimum capacity that will be enough for multitasking. If you feel that the notebook has not enough amount of RAM for you, you can buy more RAM, up to 16 GB.

The EliteBook 8460p has Intel HD Graphics 3000. This video card is weak and is only good for simple tasks like video streaming and watching videos on YouTube.

This notebook is produced with a 160 GB SSD that is an average capacity for these drives. Solid state drives (SSDs) are the fastest storage medium for today however they are quite expensive.

The Elitebook 8460p is a robust, if somewhat heavy, 14in. business notebook. We don’t like the keyboard design, but the matte screen is superb. We also appreciate the range of off-the-shelf configurations, and the high-quality audio subsystem.

Hewlett-Packard’s 14in. EliteBook 8460p is a very solid notebook, designed to survive the knocks and bumps associated with frequent travel. With 13 configurations listed at HP’s web site there’s plenty of choice: prices start at £884 (ex. VAT), topping out at £1,325 (ex. VAT): our mid-range LG743EA review sample costs £935 (ex. VAT).

Design
The Elitebook 8460p is solidly made, featuring a very tough platinum chassis. The lid section exhibits very little flex, and there’s enough airspace between the lid and the screen so that any flexing only slightly affects the display. You could rest a couple of books on this notebook with the lid closed and be pretty confident it will withstand the weight.

The upper part of the base section is also metal, with the underside a tough plastic. The silver colour of the lid and keyboard surround won’t appeal to all tastes, but there’s no doubting the robust build.

A clasp holds the lid and base sections together securely — a sure sign that this is a notebook that’s made to travel. However, it’s relatively heavy: considering the moderate 14in. screen size and dimensions of 33.8cm wide by 23.13 deep by 3.18cm thick, a starting weight of 2.07kg is rather a lot. Add to that a relatively bulky AC adapter, and you won’t exactly feel you’re travelling light with this notebook in your bag.

The 14in. screen is superbly designed for the business traveller. Its matte, totally non-reflective, finish helps ensure excellent viewing angles on the horizontal plane and good (but not perfect) angles on the vertical plane. With 1,600 by 900 pixels of viewing area, there’s a little more screen real-estate than you normally get at this size, which helps when you’re working with two application windows side by side. Some models in the range only have resolutions of 1,366 by 768 pixels, though. An ambient light sensor, which you can toggle on and off via a Fn key combination, helps conserve battery life by dimming the screen where appropriate.

Unfortunately the other important usability factor, the keyboard, leaves us a little cold. The chiclet-style keyboard has relatively large, isolated black keys that are raised a fair way from the base plate. All except for the F5 key, that is, which in our review sample was rather closer to the base plate, leaving us a little concerned about quality control. The keys depress a long way, and feel very light under the fingers. We’d have liked a little more resistance, and for the keys to be a shade closer together.

This last point might have allowed for the function key row to use larger keys than the small lozenges that are employed. The keyboard is spill-resistant, but it’s a shame there’s no backlighting — there is a keyboard light in the bezel above the screen though.

A column of keys to the right of the keyboard offers Home, PgUp, PgDn, End and right cursor movement. Normally, we automatically make for the far right of the keyboard for the Enter key, and found ourselves getting PgDn by mistake for quite a while. Prepare for a learning curve.

Embedded between the G, H and B keys is a pointing stick, accompanied by a pair of buttons beneath the space bar. These, like the two buttons that sit beneath the touchpad, are made of a grey plastic that looks out of place against the brushed metal of much of the chassis. Their fit is not perfect, either, with the two upper buttons on our review sample slightly out of alignment. This kind of detail doesn’t do a lot for a ‘sleek lines’ look. The buttons depress well enough, so there’s no functional problem with them.

The relatively large touchpad, which supports gesture control and two-way scrolling, allows you to get the cursor the full way across the screen in a single sweep. We found the zoom control a little awkward.

There is a 720p webcam above the screen, next to the keyboard light on our review sample, plus a fingerprint sensor on the right side of the wrist-rest area.

Features
The HP Elitebook 8460p line-up runs a mix of Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors. Our LG743EA review model was powered by a 2.6GHz Intel Core i5-2540M and comes with 4GB of RAM, expandable to 16GB. Windows 7 Professional 64-bit is the OS for all models bar one.

Graphics in our review sample were managed by a discrete AMD Radeon HD 6470M GPU with 1GB of dedicated DDR3 memory. Some more affordable models come with integrated Intel graphics that use shared system memory.

Storage specifications vary within the Elitebook 8460p line-up. Our review sample had a 500GB SATA II hard drive spinning at 7,200rpm.The two top-end models have a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD), while the remainder have a 320GB, 7,200rpm SATA II hard drive.

For connectivity, our review sample had Gigabit Ethernet, Bluetooth and 802. 11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi. Some models also have integrated mobile broadband.

There are two USB 3.0 ports side by side on the left edge, plus a USB 2.0 port and a eSATA/USB 2.0 combo port on the right. The right edge also houses a DisplayPort connector, microphone and headphone jacks, and a Smart Card reader. As well as the USB 3.0 ports, the left side has a FireWire port, a 54mm ExpressCard slot, a card reader for SD-compatible media and an optical drive.

HP bundles a power management utility that provides fine-grained control over power settings and delivers detailed usage information. A feature we’ve not seen before is the ability to schedule automatic switching of power management profiles according to time and date.

Performance & battery life
The Windows Experience Index (WEI) for the Elitebook 8460p is 5.3 (out of 7.9). The lowest component rating (which corresponds to the WEI) of 5.3 was for Graphics (desktop performance for Windows Aero), while Primary hard disk (Disk data transfer rate) scored 5. 9. Gaming Graphics (3D business and gaming graphics performance) scored a respectable 6.3, but the star performers were Processor (calculations per second) with 7.1 and RAM (Memory operations per second) with 7.2.

The high processor scores match what we’ve seen recently from the Toshiba Portégé R830 and the Lenovo ThinkPad W520, but the 7.2 for RAM (Memory operations per second) is the highest rating we can recall from any set of WEI scores.

According to HP, the Elitebook 8460p’s standard 6-cell battery is good for up to 8 hours and 15 minutes of life, while a 9-cell alternative can provide up to 13 hours 45 minutes.

We tested battery life by playing a DVD video continuously from a full battery charge using HP’s Optimised power scheme. Under these conditions, the system played video for 3 hours 20 minutes, which indicates that HP’s battery life estimate may be a little hopeful.

The Elitebook 8460p has integrated SRS Premium Sound stereo speakers. These deliver some of the best sound we’ve heard from a notebook in a long time. There’s plenty of volume and good reproduction: you could certainly deliver multimedia presentations to a small group from this notebook.

Conclusion
The Elitebook 8460p is a robust 14in. notebook whose metal chassis provides plenty of protection, albeit with the trade-off of extra weight. We don’t like the keyboard design, but the matte screen is superb. We also appreciate the range of off-the-shelf configurations, and the high-quality audio subsystem.

        Reception

The HP Elitebook line was received positively, with a PC Mag6 laptop30p is rated four out of five stars, praising its performance in general-purpose computing, but praising the Thinkpad T400. [175] The 2730p Tablet PC was well received by GottaBeMobile, but was noted for its speakers, buttons, and latches. [176] Notebook review called the 8530w mobile workstation «one of the most impressive 15.4 notebooks». [177] and Desktop Engineering found that «in terms of price, performance and portability, the HP EliteBook 8530w is the winner.» [178]

Geek.com commented: “So you can’t go wrong with the EliteBook 8540p (or the 8xx0 series, for that matter). In this flagship business line, HP combines good looks, reliability, high performance and many features. one extremely attractive package.” [179] IT Reviews states that «the relatively high 8540p screen resolution is a real find, and we found the keyboard to be well made and easy to use at full speed typing.» However, the site also noted that “it is large and heavy and therefore not designed to be carried. Plus, it’s expensive.» [180]

The EliteBook 8440p received praise from V3. co.uk for its «attractive and solid design» as well as its «powerful processor» and «good feature set», but the review also noted that the laptop’s overall appeal had declined from — for «poor battery life» and the choice of HP 32-bit Windows. [181]

AnandTech review gave the HP EliteBook 8740w with DreamColor 2 LCD high marks, but noted the rather high price of custom machines. [182]

Its lid and worktop are made of brushed aluminium, painted grey. The display is held by metal hinges that will help open the laptop 180 degrees.

When closed, the lid is fixed with metal locks, and to unlock them, you need to press a special button located on the front face.

When closed, the notebook is protected from dust by a special rubber protector attached to the screen frame. Two more rubber inserts are fixed on the working panel, and thanks to this solution, the matrix and keyboard will not touch, which means that the display will never have scratches typical for budget models.

It remains to be added that due to the use of metal, the weight of this 14-inch model has increased to 2.44 kg, but, in this case, this is a reasonable price for reliability.

        Display

The highlight of the 14-inch screen is a matte finish that eliminates glare and makes the EliteBook 8460p a great solution for remote work.

The screen resolution is 1600×900 pixels, and thanks to this solution, the developers managed to achieve a significant improvement in image detail compared to the standard 1366×768 pixels for this diagonal.

        Ergonomics

The EliteBook 8460p is one of the most practical and thoughtful laptops we’ve seen in a year. Its huge, multi-touch touchpad with a switch-off option lets you work efficiently without an external pointing device, and when you need to use your computer on a train or plane, a trackpoint with two additional function keys comes in handy.

Above the layout are three additional buttons that will help you quickly activate the Wi-Fi module, open the browser and turn off the sound.

By the way, I liked the sound that this model produces: it is clear and loud enough, so you can watch a new movie without the help of an external speaker system. While working with regular applications, the laptop practically does not heat up and the temperature increase will be noticeable only if you run a truly resource-intensive application on it.

We also recommend paying attention to the biometric fingerprint scanner and a miniature backlight hidden near the webcam lens.

        Performance

The configuration of this model makes a very good impression.

So, the novelty received an Intel Core i5-2540M processor with a clock speed of 2.6 GHz, 4 GB of RAM and a 500 GB hard drive and a very good discrete graphics card AMD Radeon HD 6470M with 1 GB of its own memory.

The computer scored 8726 in PCMark 05 and 5044 in 3DMark 06. The result indicates that there are no impossible business tasks for a laptop, and besides, it can easily cope with HD video playback and not too resource-intensive games.

        Software

As you might expect, this corporate laptop comes with a licensed 64-bit Windows 7 Professional operating system, Microsoft Office 2010 Starter preinstalled with Word and Excel programs, Windows Live services.

And to protect user data, there is a free antivirus Microsoft Security Essentials.

        Communications

The computer’s communications suite looks like a dream for a system administrator in a large company: it has everything that he could dream of.

One USB 2.0 port can be used to charge mobile devices when the laptop is turned off, two more ports support USB 3.0, and a fourth USB input is shared with an E-SATA port. There is also a card reader, a FireWire port, and VGA and DisplayPort outputs can be used to connect an external monitor. The DVD Super Multi drive is moved to the left side, so that when opening its «carriage», you do not have to move the external manipulator aside.

There is a docking station connector on the bottom of the computer to help you make your office work more comfortable. And, finally, at the bottom of the right side face there is a Smart-card slot hidden from prying eyes, which will reliably protect the car from unauthorized access.

        Operating time

In text reading mode, the laptop will last almost six hours without recharging, and while using the Internet via the Wi-Fi module, these results will decrease to 5 hours and 10 minutes.

We consider these results to be very good, as they make it possible to use the computer for remote work.

      Advantages:

      — Matte display
      — 3-year warranty
      — quiet
      — «cold»
      — excellent technical support, with frequent driver and software updates
      — a real guarantee of Windows 8 support
      — a separate usb port that supports charging any device even when the laptop is turned off
      — excellent camera
      — built-in GPRS/3G modem
      — keyboard is beyond praise)
      — no bright LED indicators (it was very important for me)
      — excellent multi-touchpad
      — security is implemented at the highest level

      Disadvantages:
      -price!!!
      — it’s not so easy to «break» the HDD in your own way, not all native software works normally.
      — instead of HDMI they stuck DisplayPort

      Comment:
Having sorted out my «toad», I got a very good laptop. The pros far outweigh the cons.

      Deinekin Mikhail, 10/14/2011

      Pros:
The laptop has good speakers and sound quality is noticeably better than 6930p.
      High performance.
Beautiful body, pleasant to the touch.

      Disadvantages:
laptop opening button painted! And after a few months of use, it looks terrible! Peeling paint. Well, how could this be done?

      Comment:
I decided to change my HP EliteBook 6930p for this one.
First impressions were terrible — the laptop fan was noisy, as if the laptop imagines itself to be a helicopter and is about to take off. After correspondence with HP Suppiort Assistant, it turned out that I needed to upgrade the firmware from the first to the eighth. After the upgrade, the noise has become less, but compared to the completely silent 6930p was still a lot. When I contacted again, I was advised to disable the option «Permanent operation of the fan when working from the mains» in the BIOS, after which the problem with noise was completely resolved.
The laptop has become much more massive, which is not very pleasant, but given its high performance, you can put up with it.
