- The i7-7700K has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.
- The i7-7700K has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.

- For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU’s with higher core count and lower core speed.
- The i7-7700K has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.
- The i7-7700K has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.

Monero Hashrate kH/s
Monero has been using the RandomX algorithm since November 2019of the year. This PoW (proof of work) algorithm can only be computed efficiently using either a processor (CPU) or a graphics card (GPU). The CryptoNight algorithm was used for Monero until November 2019, but it could be calculated using ASICs. RandomX benefits from a large number of CPU cores, cache, and fast memory connectivity through as many memory channels as possible.

The Haswell refresh from Intel, code name Devil’s Canyon is now available on the market and Intel has highlighted the features of the new i7 4790K, featuring Next-Generation Polymer Thermal Interface Material (NGPTIM) which Intel boasted to be able to cool the die better . In the i7-7700K, it runs at 4. 20 GHz in the standard, and in the turbo boost it rises to 4.50 GHz. Well, yes, a little higher .. But is this really a reason to change the platform? Hmm, probably not. Moreover, instead of replacing the platform, you can buy water cooling and overclock the i7-4790K to 4.8 GHz, and be a happy person. Cache. It makes no sense to write anything here, everything is the same here, both processors have a cache of 8 megs.
Bus frequency. Well, the pancake here for the i7-7700K it is higher and is 8 GT / s DMI3, and for the i7-4790K it is 5 GT / s DMI2, well, I don’t know, is it noticeable? Well, it’s scary, isn’t it? Probably not a jokarny bogeyman!
TDP. Here the i7-4790K has an advantage, because it consumes approximately 88 watts, while the i7-7700K consumes 91 watts. Stop mobile, but is TDP consumption? The i7-4790K has a pretty good Intel® HD Graphics 4600 core, well, it’s really good! But for the i7-7700K, it is fundamentally new and more powerful, it is Intel® HD Graphics 630.
