Intel Celeron N4000 — what is it capable of in games?

Component selection

Greetings, dear friends! The reason for writing today’s short post was my friend, who urgently needed a laptop. He did not have a large amount on hand, so he was looking for an inexpensive, but productive device for simple tasks. His choice fell on a model with an Intel Celeron N4000 processor, 4 GB of RAM (DDR-4), an Intel HD Graphics 600 video card and a 128 GB SSD, in general, a simple laptop for everyday tasks.

The comrade was satisfied with the purchase, for films, «Word», «YouTube» such characteristics are quite enough. But the question of entertainment became, and we decided to test the laptop in several games (although we understand that our model is far from gaming).

Tests

What happened after our testing? And here’s what:

  • in World of Tanks on low settings you can get up to 30 FPS;
  • in War Thunder (at low) you can play at 23-25 frames;
  • in LoL you can hope for 30 FPS at the minimum;
  • in Minecraft at medium settings, the device produced about 50 frames per second;
  • it will be possible to play CS:GO only on 20 frames;
  • Low settings in Dota 2 will give about 20 frames;
  • in STALKER the situation is better, at medium settings you can get about 35 FPS;
  • in Skyrim, you can play at a maximum of 20 frames if you set the settings to Low.

d3dx9_43.dll error pops up in games? Then read our tips on how to fix it.

Results

If you buy an inexpensive laptop, then you should not expect graphic beauties, you can count on the minimum settings and 20-30 frames in online games. It will be possible to play normally in undemanding games or projects of 10-12 years ago. Good luck, we hope you find our information useful!
