Update on RX 5700XT vs RTX 2070 : buildapc
So i asked the same reddit (on another account) if i should change from 5700 XT to 2070. I asked this because i was experiencing Load/Performance issues.
Now I am making this update to advise other 5700XT users experiencing the same problem or just for anyone interested.
Someone said the RX 5700 XT is more similar to a 2080 and 2070 is worse (wich is true) and i provided my GPU load percentages/What performance issues i were experiencing.
In the end of the day we came to the conclution that it may not be any issue and the card is just not running at a high load when at lower graphics etc.
Anyhow 2 days later i bought the 2070 and my plan was to return the card if it was performing worse with than my 5700 XT i would try to return the card
(note i was using the same components in my PC when testing the different cards and they are the following:
Ryzen 5 2600
2×8 16GB RAM 3200 Mhz.
Asus B450-M Motherboard.
850W PSU.
After I installed the 2070 these were the results.

Better GPU load during different games on both low and high settings.

Better Benchmarking performance using, Unigine Heaven, Superposition and more.

Overall better FPS playing, GTA 5, Fortnite, Rust and PUBG with about 20% better fps in Fortnite. 10-20% better FPS in GTA 5 with both high and ultra settings. Also about 50-70% better performance when using 2x upscaling in GTA 5.
For those of you who don’t know upscaling basically upscales the game to whatever multiplier and scaling it down to your monitors resolution.
My experience.
I have had problems with my RX 5700XT since i got it and it has been the worst experience ever with any GPU i have ever had. I have done everything you can possibly think about and i even had my 5700XT sent in for review by the manufacturers (wich i got told nothing is wrong). I have heard about many others who also switched to RTX cards after they bought the 5700XT.
Why?
Off what i understand AMD hasn’t realeased a good graphics driver for the 5700XT and need to work on fixing the card via the drivers.
Conclution.
RX 5700XT is a powerful card but isn’t capable of performing as it should for a lot of people. If you are experiencing the same issue i would recommend you take note that you should try and optimize the card to see if anything helps. But for many people it hasn’t and some people even switched to RTX cards.
