Can I Run Valorant?

Valorant system requirements have become a little more demanding since it released in 2020. Previously setting the bar with Intel HD Graphics 3000, it’s only a small nudge upwards, as the free-to-play FPS game remains gaming PC friendly. To run Valorant, you’ll need anything from a 64-bit Windows 7 to Windows 11 installed, 4GB of RAM, and 23GB of storage space. What frame rate you get is determined by what graphics card and CPU you own, and there are three categories.

The first is the minimum Valorant system requirements, which aim to hit a consistent 30fps with an Intel Core Duo 2 E8400 or AMD Athlon 200GE processor and AMD Radeon R5 200 or integrated Intel HD 4000 graphics.

You’ll need to meet the recommended Valorant system requirements if you want to hit a smoother 60fps, and the jump requires a discrete GPU. If you’re running anything newer than an Intel Core i3 4150 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 processor paired with an Nvidia GeForce GT 730 or Radeon R7 240, you shouldn’t have an issue.

Competitive minded gamers will want to aim for the high-end Valorant system requirements, as this will net you 144fps or more. Since the developers at Riot state you can achieve this with an Intel Core i5 4460 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600X alongside an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti or AMD Radeon R7 370, anyone running RTX graphics will have an easy time hitting triple digit frame rates.

Unfortunately, you won’t get a helping hand from upscaling features like Nvidia DLSS or AMD FSR. You can lower pesky system latency with Nvidia Reflex if you have a GeForce GTX 900 series GPU or newer, however, which can give you an advantage and help you hit your shots easier. And lastly, sticking Valorant on an SSD will give you significantly better loading times than your peers using a hard drive, but it’s worth noting that the lobby will only load as fast as the slowest system trying to connect to the server.

Valorant settings

If you’re struggling to meet the Valorant system requirements, there are a number of steps to try and improve game performance in PCGamesN’s best Valorant settings guide. To help boost fps, try turning down Material Quality, Texture Quality, and Detail Quality to the next preset down. If you’re using anti-aliasing in the Valorant settings menu, try turning the setting down or off altogether. Additionally, always ensure you are running the latest Nvidia or AMD drivers for your graphics card for optimal performance.

Valorant issues

Developer Riot Games has created a dedicated support article, that lists all the known Valorant issues that it is working to resolve. Given that Valorant is a live service game, we can expect constant patches and post-launch content updates to hit the FPS in the future.

Valorant Steam

As of 2022, Valorant is only available on the Epic Games Store and the official site, meaning there is no Valorant Steam edition.

Valorant Game Pass

Riot Games and Xbox have worked together to bring Riot’s biggest titles to PC Game Pass. With a Riot Account and Game Pass membership, players can unlock premium Xbox Game Pass rewards and member-only benefits. For a limited time, players linking an Xbox profile to a Riot Account will also receive extra in-game rewards — for Valorant that means a Pocket Sage Buddy until Jan 1st 2023.

How to improve Valorant performance

Valorant is not a graphics-demanding PC game and therefore it will work fine on the majority of PCs and laptops. If you are not getting the performance you want, then you can try configuring these settings: Material quality, texture quality, detail quality, and anti-aliasing.

Valorant updates and patches

The Valorant 5.10 update changed 3 agents: Cypher, Fade and Harbour. Cypher’s trapwires had the maximum length increased, his ultimate ability now reveals players another time after 4 seconds and his placed utility is no longer destroyed by allies; AOE damage. Fade’s prowler duration has been decreased to 2.5 seconds, her nearsight duration on hit was reduced to 2.75 seconds and her ultimate ability now costs 8 ultimate orbs. Harbour now has another purchasable cascade charge.

Valorant will run on PC system with Windows 7 64-bit and upwards.

Can I Run Fortnite?

Meeting the Fortnite system requirements isn’t especially hard, but we’ve got all the information you need to get your PC ready to drop in to Epic Games’ battle royale. The Fortnite game size means you’ll need around 30GB of storage space to get the game installed.

In order to set up to the Fortnite minimum system requirements, you’ll need a computer running a Windows 10 64-Bit installation. In terms of hardware, an Intel Core i3-3225 CPU and 4GB of RAM are all you’ll need to get started.

If you’re gunning to pass the Fortnite recommended system requirements, you’ll want to upgrade your processor to something as powerful as an Intel Core i5-7300U and double up your RAM capacity to 8GB. A discrete graphics card is a must, so grab something as good as an Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 or AMD Radeon R9 280.

Fortnite Steam

Unfortunately, there’s currently no Fortnite Steam download available. Since Epic Games owns Fortnite, it’s unlikely that we’ll see it on Valve’s storefront anytime soon.

The only place you can download Fortnite is the Epic Games Store, which you can grab for free and enjoy three game modes: Battle Royale, Creative, and Save the World.

Fortnite update V22.10

Epic Games released the Fortnite 22.10 update during Chapter 3 Season 4 on October 4, 2022. The patch notes says it includes a new ‘Cobra DMR’ weapon, new opportunities with unlockable Holo-Chests, more styles, a more detailed squad comms wheel, the return of the Grapple Glove, and some major bug fixes.

Fortnite issues

Developer Epic Games hasn’t created a dedicated support page that lists all the known Fortnite issues, but they have created an article with links to relevant community pages. It should help find what you’re looking for to resolve your problems.

Fortnite settings

Our advice when it comes to the Fortnite settings menu is to turn them down all graphical options as low as you can tolerate. This will help keep your fps as high as possible and make you more competitive in the game’s battle royale mode. However, we’d recommend not going below 1080p resolution, so you can still maintain a sharp eye in spotting enemies.

If you have an Nvidia RTX GPU, you can make use of Nvidia DLSS to further boost fps. You also have access to the game’s ray tracing options, but we wouldn’t recommend using it outside of Creative mode, as it’s pretty costly in terms of performance.

Fortnite will run on PC system with Windows 7/8/10 64-bit and upwards.

Additionally it has a Mac version.

Tips and tricks CommentAsk a questionWrite a post

Keeping up with the growing capabilities of the modern gaming industry is becoming more and more difficult every year — developers, feeling the power of available technologies, literally force users to purchase new video cards, processes and RAM bars. But will there be enough strength and opportunity to buy new components for every high-profile project? Isn’t it easier to have fun with «average settings» without trying to squeeze the maximum? Main make sure the has at least a quad-core processor, a three-year-old graphics card, and 8 GB of RAM. Everything else is completely unimportant. And this is proved by all verification systems …

How to check if the game will run on a computer

Before you start searching for the system requirements of your favorite game, you should find out exactly which components (video card, processor, RAM) are hidden in your favorite PC case. And already with the data obtained during the «superficial examination» data can be put forward on the Internet, to the search bar of the browser. The easiest way to find out the technical characteristics of the computer and find out if the computer will pull the game is to use diagnostic tool DirectX :

  • Press the key combination Win + R or open «Start» and type the word «Run» in the search.
  • In the text field that appears, enter the combination of characters « dxdiag » (without quotes) and click «OK».
  • Although the interface of the DirectX diagnostic tool is replete with menus and available buttons, the sections of greatest interest are only « System «, which describes the version of the operating system, information about the processor and RAM (including the paging file), and « Screen ”, where the utility developers took out information related to the video card: video memory, bit depth and current screen resolution.

The required data has been received, it is time to go to Google and enter the standard query «system requirements *of the desired game*». The result will be displayed immediately, and therefore it remains only to compare the necessary characteristics with those that are available in the system. We compare a quick inspection of with data from DirectX . This will help you understand if the right operating system is installed, if the processor can handle the load (the most important thing is to look at the parameters related to the number of cores «CPUs» and overall performance, calculated in GHz), and if the video card is equipped with enough video memory. nine0012

TestGameSpeed service

If you cannot manually determine the relationship between the recommended system requirements and the current system capabilities, the TestGameSpeed service will help you with the task of checking compatibility. The procedure is as follows:

  • Open the main page of the resource.
  • Right in the central part of the page, find the menu for adding information about the characteristics of the computer. Methodically transfer data from Dxdiag using the service’s tips (you should approach the process carefully — even a missing hyphen will greatly complicate the search for the necessary components). nine0005
  • After filling in the information in all text fields (processor, video card, amount of RAM, operating system version), click « Continue «.
  • It remains only to enter the name of the required game for which the test is being performed and press Enter.
  • And here is the result — the service has calculated all the necessary parameters, carried out an analysis and can proudly declare whether the application will start, whether it will be possible to play, or whether it remains only to sit and be bored. nine0005

The method is fine, but not perfect. The main problem is the small collection of equipment available. So, for example, the service is not familiar with the GeForce GTX 980Ti. Although the card appeared on the shelves in 2016. And where are the creators of the project looking?

Search for answers in the Steam Store

The Steam Digital Store can be used in two ways to check the compatibility of PC components and system requirements of the game:0536 about computer . Diagnosis is called from the upper left menu «Help» through the item « System Information «.

  • Here, as in the case of using DirectX, a lot of information is displayed! Data about the video card and processor, RAM, monitor and even USB port controllers!
  • As a library recommended and minimum system requirements . Finding the partition you need is incredibly easy. The first step is to open Steam and use the text box for a quick search. nine0005
  • Enter the name of any game, for example, GTA5.
  • On the page that opens, scroll through the interface until the game description ends. Compare the displayed results with system components.
  • It is convenient to work with Steam, but only in those cases when the user is able to find out without too much help which processor model is better and which video card is the latest generation.

    SystemRequirementsLab Service

If you are looking for the perfect assistant for studying PC components, then SystemRequirementsLab will be your guide to the world of system requirements! There is no need to make manual comparisons and study different specifications, the process is put on the conveyor and fully automated , the main thing is to keep up with the instructions:

    • Go to the main page of the project.
    • In the field » Search for a game » enter the name of the wanted computer blockbuster (as in other cases — GTA V).
    • After searching, go to the page with the game and click » Can You Run It?» «.
    • Save the file suggested by the system to any directory on the hard drive and run it. nine0005
    • Wait until the utility collects the necessary information about the PC.
    • The data will be transferred back to the SystemRequirementsLab website, and at the same time, detailed statistics will appear , according to the results of which you can understand whether everything will start or not. If the checkboxes are green, then you can start having fun! If they are red, then you will have to delve into the information provided. Sometimes the service offers to update drivers or conduct additional diagnostics.
