We can better compare what are the technical differences between the two processors.
Suggested PSU: We assume that we have An ATX computer case, a high end graphics card, 16GB RAM, a 512GB SSD, a 1TB HDD hard drive, a Blu-Ray drive. We will have to rely on a more powerful power supply if we want to have several graphics cards, several monitors, more memory, etc.
Price: For technical reasons, we cannot currently display a price less than 24 hours, or a real-time price. This is why we prefer for the moment not to show a price. You should refer to the respective online stores for the latest price, as well as availability.
The processor Nvidia Tegra X1 T210 has more cores, the turbo frequency of Nvidia Tegra X2 T186 is bigger, that their respective TDP are of the same order. The Nvidia Tegra X2 T186 was started more recently.

3DNews Technologies and IT market. News game consoles The Switch is based on a conventional 20nm chip … The most interesting in the reviews
03/24/2017 [09:32], Konstantin Khodakovsky Hardware analysis resource Tech Insights recently updated its coverage of the Nintendo Switch hybrid console. Detailed photographs of the Tegra chip were taken and carefully examined, which was announced as a special version of the NVIDIA single-chip system, commissioned by a Japanese company. In general, many previously believed that Nintendo did not reinvent the wheel and simply used a ready-made successful NVIDIA chip without spending additional resources and funds on the development of some special version. This was also indicated by the first disassembly of the system: the chip itself, externally, and the configuration of the capacitors and other elements around it, were very similar to the updated Shield Android TV console of 2017. NVIDIA on the blog right after the first trailer of the console said that it spent 500 man-years to create the console. But if physically the Switch processor has no differences from the standard Tegra X1 chip, then what are we talking about? NVIDIA wasn’t just talking about the chip itself: it was also about system design, software, APIs, game engines, and peripherals. And in this regard, we must admit, Switch — a great achievement. Just look at the new Shield Android TV port of Tomb Raider 2013 (ported by NVIDIA’s internal Lightspeed Studios). It is far from perfect and runs at 720p with very uneven frame output. In turn, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild achieves noticeably more impressive results at the same resolution, even at lower frequencies in mobile mode. nine0007 Unfortunately, NVIDIA’s categorical statements last year that the Switch chip is based on the same architecture as the most productive video cards (at that time they were already Pascal generation accelerators) turned out to be wrong. They then led many journalists to the idea that the Switch is based not on the relatively old Tegra X1 chip, but on the more recent and powerful Tegra X2. By and large, the difference between Pascal and Maxwell is in a thinner manufacturing process: 16 nm versus 20 nm. |
