AMD Ryzen 3 2200U Lower-Mid-Range Laptop CPU – Laptop Processors

The AMD Ryzen 3 2200U is a lower-mid-range laptop processor. With its two processing cores, two computing threads per core, and a maximal clock speed of 3.4 GHz, it is slower than the mid-range Ryzen 5 2500U with four cores, two threads per core, and a 3.4 GHz maximal clock speed. But the Ryzen 3 2200U is still a great processor for everyday notebook PC use.

AMD Ryzen 3 2200U CPU Benchmark

Processor benchmarks show the AMD Ryzen 3 2200U provides performance comparable to the more popular 7th Gen Intel Core i5-7200U. In the real world use, it means flawless operation when it comes to the daily computing tasks, like web browsing, emails, work in Microsoft Office applications, or movie playback. Paying extra money for a faster processor like the quad-core Ryzen 5 2500U, 8th Gen i5-8250U, or faster is recommended if you do heavy PC duties regularly. Such as video editing, professional photography editing, and similar.

As for gaming, the Ryzen 3 2200U with its Radeon Vega 3 integrated graphics offers some basic performance. It is good only for light games, but you can also play some more demanding titles on low detail settings. Take a look at the Ryzen 3 2200U / Vega 3 gameplay videos provided by Youtubers:

Besides the Ryzen 3 2200U, AMD also has in its lineup the Ryzen 3 2300U with noticeably better performance thanks to its quad-core design (with a single computing thread per core) and better Vega 6 integrated graphics. However, the 2300U can be found in only a few laptop models on the market.

Note: The benchmark scores of the listed processors are averages measured across various devices with these processors. The scores and real-world performance of the AMD Ryzen 3 2200U and compared CPUs may vary depending on the notebooks’ other components, settings, cooling, and other factors. However, the benchmark results are good indicators of the processors’ performance.
