No, you didn’t mistaken by reading this post, i’m in a situation where i don’t know what to buy between these 2.
So here is my situation.
I’m planning to buy my build in a few days, as i found the graphic card i want for a good price in my country (~1187.49€ for the ASUS ROG STRIX 2080TI O11G) and it will arrived thursday. So i’m going to try to buy all my parts this weekend.
I wanted to buy a Ryzen 3900X with Asus X570-PRO motherboard, as i really like thos board and thought a little white theme for the parts could be cool.
My pb is : The 3900X is out of stock since the launch approximately, and i don’t want to pay 800€ on ebay for this thing.
So, if it’s not available this weekend, i’m wondering what cpu i should use for my use: Is the Ryzen 3800 a good choice (400€ here, 360€ for 3700X so not a big gap). I consider it because i rly like the motherboard.
Or is the i9 the way better alternative for me here ? (with a new motherboard to find. ..) ?
I want this build mostly for 1440p 144Hz gaming / max settings with everything i want such as Total war games, TES, Assassins Creed games, Cyberpunk when it’ll come, etc …
And also be able to stream it at the same time (on a local 4k TV or Twitch, etc)

AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Benchmarks Leaked, Crushes Intel’s i9 9900K
We’re just two weeks away from the official launch of AMD’s highly anticipated family of Ryzen 3000 series CPUs.
Thanks to our beloved leakers however we will not have to wait that long to learn more about how fast these new chips really are.
This latest leak comes via an eagle-eyed enthusiast who spotted AMD’s upcoming Ryzen 7 3800X in Geekbench’s database and simply could not contain his excitement to share this newly discovered gem. So without further ado let’s get prospecting!
AMD Ryzen 7 3800X Benchmarks Leaked, Crushes Core i9 9900K in Multi-threaded Performance
The Ryzen 7 3800X delivers a multi-core score of over 34 thousand points and a single core score of over 54 hundred points in Geekbench 4. The CPU was paired with a prototype X470 chipset motherboard and entry level 16GB DDR4 memory with modest speeds. Despite being hamstrung by lackluster memory, the 3800X put on an impressive showing.
To put these figures into context, Intel’s similarly priced core i7 9700K scores ~28400 points and the flagship i9 9900K delivers no more than ~31500 points in the same test.
But thanks to very aggressive boost clocks, the Intel chips manage to claw back some ground and maintain roughly a 10% advantage in single threaded performance in the same test against AMD’s newcomer.

At $399 the Ryzen 7 3800X is set to compete against Intel’s core i7 9700K which currently sells for just over $400 at most major e-tailers. Although according to recent news, Intel is in fact preparing sweeping price cuts of up to 15% across its 9000 series lineup, including the i9 9900k, i7 9700K and i5 9600K. It will be very interesting to see if these new prices cuts are going to be enough to sway some potential Ryzen 3000 series buyers to reconsider Intel. In the meantime, stay tuned for more juicy leaks in the coming days.
