Hola mi pc es el siguiente:
AMD Phenom II X4 Black Edition 965, 3,4 MHz
Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO
Asus M5A78L-M/USB3
12 Gb. RAM Kingston DDR3-1333 (667 MHz)
Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 OC Edition 2GB GDDR5

Pues me he puesto a ello y me salen unas cuantas dudas:

Hi
I recently upgraded my rig and want some help in overclocking. .here are the specs
AMD Phenom x4 965 (Black Edition)
MSI 790GX-G65
Cooler Master Hyper 212+
G.Skill 2x2GB (1600Mhz RAM) timings 9-9-9-24 @1.5-1.6V
MSI HD 4870 (512)
Cooler Master Extreme Power 600
lots of case fans
CM 690
1TB + 500 GB HDD
Question1 :- I tried overclocking using AMD overdrive without increasing the Voltage and i was successfully able to run my CPU on 3.88 GHZ (core at 210MHZ and Multiplier at 18.5)…When i try making the value of core at 214 or multiplier at 19, system reboots during the stress test but the temp doesnt go beyond 47 C…..If i want to reach a little higher limit, then which Voltage parameter to change and by what value..At 3.86 GHz CPU idles at arnd 35 C
Question 2 :- When i try increasing FSB using the OC button provided in the MOBO, even if i try increasing it at first level that is 10% then also it says OC switch failed..I believe i have got a pretty decent configuation thats why i am wondering why it isnt working. ..am i doing something wrong?? please advice.
Question 3 :- I have heard that this board by default has RAM speed to run at 1333 MHZ and i will have to manually enter the timing and voltage values in Bios to run it properly and at 1600 MHz but i am kinda newbie in this…so can you please advice how to enter value of ram and where to enter it..
( I am running Windows XP 32 Bit)
Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated…

Re: Overclocking Phenim 965 (Black)+ MSi 790GX-G65
I should say you have got an extremely good overclock with AMD overdrive. You could increase Vcore(perhaps referred to as cpu vid in msi) to achieve better overclock. No need to use oc switch, when you have got such good oc.
If you need to set ram to 1600, get into bios by pressing del at boot, enter cell menu and change the dram multiplier to 6 from 5.x. That should do. As you have got cl9 ram, you dont need to do anything mostly, check the values with cpu-z.

You need to adjust vcore or vid for stability at higher clocks
Before giving any tips for OCing, I would like to make one thing clear that you still do not know what you are doing. A lot of guides are there on the net for phenom overclocking, go through them, get an idea and start overclocking. It’s never a good idea to go overboard and do the tweaking mate.
First determine what your mobo is capable of as far as max HTT is concerned, and what your RAM can hit at max and then the CPU. Anyways, you have achieved a good overclock. Which 965 do you have? C2 or C3 stepping? Which cooler do you have? If you are using the stock cooler, don’t touch the voltage settings. I’m very much concerned about your PSU, I’m afraid it will give up anytime even without overclocking.

The Product code of my processor is ADVHDZ965FBGMBOX and M stands for C3 chip whereas if it would have been I then it would have been a C2 version. .

Testing and overclocking of the Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition
Literally the day before yesterday, the company AMD officially introduced the close main 6-core Phenom II X6 processors, as well as the latest chipset for interaction with them AMD 890FX. Now we are whole tormented by the question of what is the latest six-core capable of? Recall that the main Intel released a 6-core processor called Intel Core i7 980X, but its declared cost of more than $ 1050 completely discourages the idea of purchasing. After all, for this amount you can mount an integral system installation and not bad enough, even with an agreement if you suspend your personal choice on a six-core AMD 1090T Black Edition, we will talk about one or the other, because its cost is much more applicable and amounts to $ 295.
The news hasn’t reached us yet, so we suggest you familiarize yourself with the results of testing the Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition conducted by the employees of the resource Benchmarkreviews.com. But first, let’s not recall the specifications of the latest 6-core processor. The
AMD Phenom II X6 is based on 45nm technology in the AM3 design, supports the latest proprietary Turbo CORE technology, which is designed to automatically boost frequencies from one to three cores at the same time at 500 Mhz. The nominal frequency of the processor is 3.2GHz, but the Black Edition marking indicates the presence of an unlocked multiplier, which gives overclockers the possibility of a quick and trouble-free overclocking. With all this, the size of the corporate cache is 9Mb (3Mb L2 and 6Mb L3).
Benchmarkreviews.com staff, using an ASUS Crosshair-IV Formula motherboard and AMD OverDrive software, were able to overclock an AMD Phenom II X6 to 4.0GHz and later to 4.3Ghz with little change to a few Bios options, which is what comes proof of the highest overclocking potential of the latest processor.
Test:
AMD Test Shield Configuration:
Motherboard: ASUS Crosshair-IV Formula (AMD 890FX/SB850/JMB363)
Processor: 3.4 GHz AMD Phenom II X4-965
Processor: 3.2 GHz AMD Phenom II-X6-1090T
Processor: 4.0 GHz/4.3 GHz AMD Phenom II X6-1090T (after overclocking )
RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR3 (4 Gb 1333 MHz CL7-7-7-20)
Video card: ATI Radeon HD 5870
Feeding setup: OCZ 850W
Test board configuration Intel:
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-X5 -UD7 (Intel X58/ICh20R/Marvell SE9128)
Processor: 2. 66GHz Core Intel i7-920
Processor: 3.33 GHz Core Intel i7-980X
RAM: Kingston HyperX DDR3 (4 Gb 1333 MHz CL7-7-7-20)
Video card: ATI Radeon HD 5870
Feeding setup: OCZ 850W
Graphic benchmarks , as expected, did not see the difference between processors, since only graphics performance was evaluated.
According to PCMark Vantage results, Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition is not much inferior to the flagship Intel Core i7 980X, but in overclocked appearance it is even ahead of its rival.
In Cinebench 64-bit results, the corporate balance of power remains past.
The results of Everest PhotoWorxx and CPU Queen are generally affected by the efficiency of the memory controller and computational threads (Hyper Threading), so the favorite in this test comes the Intel Core i7 980X processor.
Solutions:
According to the test results, it can be said that the performance of the Phenom II X6 1090T BE processor is inferior to that of the Core i7 980X, but AMD did not strive to make the world’s most powerful processor, but a processor that combines excellent performance and affordable cost for an ordinary user. Considering the fact that the Phenom II X6 1090T BE is actually four times cheaper than the rival Core i7 980X, we can say that AMD managed to do it.
