T95 Allwinner H616 Android 10 TV Box Review
So this is the budget T95 Allwinner H616 Android 10 TV box, while the title may seem quite exciting, Allwinner is yet to deliver a high-performance TV box. It appears that they are stuck at the 1.4GHz CPU clock speed unable to solve their overheating issues. In this model due to adequate ventilation and a regulated CPU clock speed I didn’t record any overheating in this model, they however did improve on the hardware specs. This model comes with a new Allwinner H616 CPU and the Mali G31 GPU, which is a step in the right direction. However, as an enthusiasts there is not much I can say about this box other than it is good for streaming movies and TV shows. it’s running on Android 10 Q, but its firmware leaves much to be desired in terms of features.

There aren’t many TV boxes for 2020 running on Android 10Q operating system, and the Tanix TX6s Allwinner H616 is one of them.
I am a bit of an optimistic when I see new hardware and new operating systems and eager to see what they bring to the table in terms of performance and features. However the Allwinner H616 CPU is not my favorite CPU to launch operating systems as it has been plagued by performance issues and overheating. In this review my results reveal that the Tanix TX6s is budget TV box and even though it is running on the Alice UX interface.

Conclusion
So after considering the the pros and cons of this box I conclude that the Tanix TX6s is budget TV box and it should only be used for streaming movies and TV shows.
The overheating still persists with the Allwinner H616 so gaming is not recommend on this box.

Introducing a review of a new TV box called T95Z Plus , which runs on SoC 9 processor0459 Allwinner H618 running OS Android 12 .
The novelty belongs to the budget Android set-top boxes and has a good enough configuration to work as a simple media player. The T95Z Plus TV box is for sale at a price of $30 . We will tell about all the advantages and disadvantages of the novelty in our review.
A TV box called T95Z Plus has already been produced earlier, in the same case but with different types of processors. The most powerful version with an eight-core SoC Amlogic S9 has gained the most popularity.12, but there was also a version with SoC Amlogic S905X. Today we have a review of a new model with a Allwinner H618 chip, about which there is not much information. But let’s understand everything in order.

The remote control is compact, lightweight and quite functional. It contains quite a lot of buttons, among which are: the on / off button of the set-top box (or switching to sleep mode), access to the menu, exit to the main menu, navigate through the menu using the round arrow key, cancel, volume control and cursor control mode. There are quick launch buttons for the KD media player and application menu, a block of numeric buttons for entering passwords and a block of programmable buttons for controlling the TV.

Instructions for setting up programmable remote control buttons are missing. There are no functions of an air mouse and a built-in microphone in the remote control. The remote control is powered by two AAA elements, which must be purchased separately, they are not included in the kit.

There are no electronic protection elements for the USB and HDMI ports, so it is recommended to always follow the rules for connecting set-top boxes — connect the HDMI cable only to the set-top box that is turned off.
Wireless adapter uses chip AW869A , integrating WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5 dual band module. The WiFi antenna is made in the form of a zigzag track on the board.

This is a pretty good result, having the ability to connect high-speed Internet from a provider and a modern router — a Wi-Fi connection in the 5 GHz band will allow you to watch high-quality content without any problems.
Bluetooth 5.0 works fine on the device, all available devices were found in the environment within a radius of 8-10 m. Headphones and a gamepad connected and worked without problems.
Heating
Processor temperature is a very important indicator that affects the reliability, stability and durability of the system.
In our case, the temperature of the processor at an average load ranges from 65º to 75º . With a high load — watching heavy videos or playing 3D games, the temperature reaches 80º . At the same time, the frequency of processor cores is kept at a maximum value of 1.42 GHz.
CPU Throttling Test , according to the results of a standard 15-minute test, showed that under maximum load the processor does not reduce the frequency of the cores.

The built-in Youtube client supports video playback up to 2160p, i.e. 4K without a single dropped frame. The processor supports hardware decoding of the VP9 video codec, which allows it to play 4K video without problems.
Audio can be transmitted via HDMI, AV out or S/PDIF. The set-top box supports direct transmission of multi-channel audio (passthrough mode) Dolby Digital and DTS when an appropriate receiver is connected.

Processor Allwinner H618 , although not a gaming processor at all, is equipped with a graphic processor Mali-G31 MP2 , which allows you to play simple 3D games with relative comfort. For games, it is better to connect a gamepad to the Bluetooth console. You can comfortably play games such as Beach Buggy Racing 2, Asphalt 8, Dead Trigger 2 and many more not too demanding Android games.
Summary
New TV Box T95Z Plus version 2022 with Allwinner H618 processor handles modern multimedia tasks, including video playback in 4K 60fps . Despite its low cost, it runs popular Android applications without any problems and plays almost any available content. During our testing, the prefix never «hangs», worked clearly and without failures.
It can be used to watch Full HD and 4K torrents, Youtube in 4K, Full HD and 4K online content, IPTV and simple games. It is not recommended to load it very much, after all, this is a budget set-top box, but nevertheless it works. TV boxes T95Z Plus are sold in three versions, with different amounts of RAM and internal memory:
- T95Z Plus 2 GB RAM 16 GB ROM
- T95Z Plus 4 GB RAM 32 GB ROM
- T95Z Plus 4 GB RAM 64 GB ROM
If you plan to use the set-top box only to watch IPTV, Youtube and online video up to Full HD, then the version with 2 GB of RAM is sufficient. If you plan to watch 4K video, torrents, it is better to buy a set-top box with 4 GB of RAM.
