Asrock z170 oc formula 9900k: Intel Core i9-9900K runs on Z170 motherboard with 5.5 GHz

9900 K modified BIOS files

Hi,

A while ago I came here asking where modified 9900 K BIOS files could be obtained to run on motherboards for chipsets Z170, Z270 etc….&_someone here mentioned the BIOS files could be obtained here at the forum but where?

I’ll lay it on the line for the following motherboards and I’ve included links if this helps.

These boards are older and obsolete now but can still pack a punch with the 7700 K delidded which I did @ 4.9 Ghz on AsRock Z170 Professional Gaming i7.

I don’t know if BIOS files exist for these boards or if someone has to create them with compiling of code (which is beyond me currently)___

I ask for some help assistance with this and if any work is needed to create these files I could pay a small amount for this if necessary (hopefully not!!!)_

Stability is very important as well but I’ve heard that this has been done successfully and it would add a level of future proof to the boards or make them more versatile adding 8C/16T capability.

I’ll leave it here and see what comes back — Thanks

You don’t wanna do that. Most z170s don’t have the vrms for a 8 core..

I can assist with modifying if needed, it’s very simple. I ran my old 9900k in my z170 Maximus VIII Formula board at 5.1Ghz w/ 1.36v for over a year without an issue. Some boards/bios don’t support all 16T so you’ll need to do a bit of research. I’m not going to do all the boards listed so pick two of them you’d prefer me to mod.

They’ll still need to manually modify them to add their board’s UUID/MAC address.

You can modify yourself as well using this new GUI tool: RE: [GUIDE] Coffee Lake CPUs on Skylake and Kaby Lake motherboards — 85

Hi,

Thanks for the reply — And posting a link to a guide! — I’ll give the guide a read through and see how complicated it is or isn’t — Thanks

you need to mod the CPU too, I’ve done three so far, Gigabyte Z170 Gaming 7 with 5. 3 GHz 8700K, ASUS Z170 Sabertooth S with 9700K and ASUS Z170 Formula with 9600KF
