Can I Run Hogwarts Legacy?

Hogwarts Legacy system requirements are pretty demanding, so you’ll want to prepare your gaming PC for the Harry Potter RPG. If you’re planning on using a cheap and cheerful rig, you’ll need something on par with the Nvidia GeForce GTX 960 — an entry-level GPU that can handle 1080p low settings to hit the Hogwarts Legacy minimum requirements. If you’d rather play with high presets enabled, you’ll need to upgrade to something like the GTX 1080 Ti or AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT for the Hogwarts Legacy recommended specs.

Avalanche Games says you should use a PC with at least 16GB RAM, but you’ll need to ramp things up to 32GB to enable Ultra settings or play at 4K. Lastly, you’ll need to free up at least 85GB of storage to download Hogwarts Legacy, and the developer advises using an SSD over a traditional hard drive.

The developer also provides separate Hogwarts Legacy PC requirementsfor playing with Ultra settings enabled, and recommendations include the RTX 2080 Ti and Radeon RX 6800 XT. Aiming to play at 4K rather than 1440p? To do so, you’ll need the best graphics card money can buy, with Avalanche Game’s suggesting either an Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti or the shiny new AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT.

Game Computer for Escape from Tarkov — System Requirements and Description

Need help choosing?
We are ready to help you

Escape from Tarkov is a multiplayer shooter with a pretension to story and RPG buildup. Developed by Battlestate Games and released in 2017. The project was created on the Unity 5 engine, which is not typical for MMO games.

Plot

The Russia 2028 universe has already been used in the less popular Contract Wars game. All actions take place in the fictitious city of Tarkov in the same fictitious Norvinsk region. According to the plot, this territory was a zone of free industrial cooperation between the European Union and Russia.

The city is isolated from the outside world by the UN forces and the Russian army due to the activities of the TerraCorp corporation, which is declared illegal. The clashes take place between USEC (a mini-army hired to protect the interests of the corporation) and BEAR (a local group funded by the city authorities).

The player has to get out of a completely blocked city in order to save his life.

Gameplay

Before us is a realistic military shooter with hardcore gameplay. The main part of the game is going to the city for equipment and returning to the extraction point in order to save what you have acquired and, if possible, sell it.

All of your equipment before the battle can be hung on yourself, but why? After all, if you are killed, someone will be able to pick up what you got with overwork. In the raid, you are threatened by a whole bunch of dangers, from direct opponents of USEC or BEAR, to marauders, which are partly controlled by artificial intelligence, partly by players.

In good equipment, the player is practically not threatened by anything — opponents without ammunition and with a pistol cannot do anything to these cans. The balance is slightly corrected by the fact that the game creates entire hordes of marauders: one at a time they are practically safe, but in a crowd they can endure even an experienced player in top equipment.

And all this in order to collect more useful items, take them out of the city and sell them. You can also get a job as a mercenary and get a discount, money or valuables for the completed task. These quests are issued by numerous merchants.

As for the content, there are more than a hundred types of cartridges alone, and each is created for a narrow range of tasks. There are even more weapons, and if you add to this the ability to modify it, then you get a rosy picture.

The accumulated resources can be spent by investing in equipment or filling up the offline base. There is also a skill leveling system, each of which will cost you a lot of time and effort.

Engine

The Unity 5 engine is far from the most progressive tool for creating games. Usually mobile toys are made on it. At the moment, the system requirements for Escape from Tarkov indicate that the game consumes no more than 2 Gb of video card memory, which means that there are no high-resolution textures in the game yet. But Escape from Tarkov is still in development, so we’ll be watching to see if anything changes in the future.

In general, already at the production stage, the picture looks quite alive, given that at the end of 2021 the game switched to the new Unity 2019 game engine. Also, DLSS support became available in Escape from Tarkov, which gave the shooter the opportunity to “pull up” the disadvantage optimization and play in high definition. The elaboration of the characters themselves and the trunks is quite detailed, and with each new patch it only gets better.

But still, the game has certain gaps (at least for now), for example, in FPS jumps on different maps and locations, or in still “lame” optimization. So for comfortable gameplay, you will need a computer with much higher performance than those indicated by the developers.

System Requirements Escape from Tarkov

The game has been in alpha/beta testing for about 5 years. As of July 2022, the current version of Escape from Tarkov is 0.12.12.30, but it is not known when the release will be. The developers do not even indicate the required processor model (only the series and clock speed) and video cards (only the amount of video memory and the DirectX version).

Despite the fact that these are official data, it is unlikely that you will be able to play on such hardware with pleasure. With such a computer in Escape from Tarkov you will get an average of 40-50 FPS on minimum settings at FullHD resolution. If the situation with optimization does not change, the FPS at peak and low values may vary by 40% of the average.

Minimum
Processor Intel Core i3 or AMD Ryzen 3
Video card NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650
RAM 8 GB DDR4 from 3200 MHz
Disk space 8 GB on SSD

According to the developers, this system will be able to run the game at medium-high graphics settings in FullHD resolution.

Recommended
Processor Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen 5
Video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
RAM 16 GB DDR4 from 3600 MHz
Disk space 8 GB on SSD

We, as always, offer a set of modern components for games so that you get the maximum FPS at «ultra» graphics settings in FullHD. Such a computer for Escape from Tarkov will be able to give from 75 FPS with a good performance margin to smooth out bad optimization.

Real
Processor Intel Core i7 or AMD Ryzen 7
Video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM 16 GB DDR4 from 3600 MHz
Disk space 8 GB on SSD

This set of requirements for Escape from Tarkov will allow you to play in 2K and 4K resolution at FPS from 100 and 95 respectively, which guarantees at least 60 frames per second even in the busiest locations, and stable 90 in open areas or indoors.

Ultra
Processor Intel Core i7/i9 or AMD Ryzen 7/9
Video card NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti
RAM 16 GB DDR4 from 3600 MHz
Disk space 8 GB on SSD

How to choose a computer for Escape from Tarkov

The main emphasis in the game is on the processor, the graphics are quite light, but now poorly optimized, which entails uncomfortable drawdowns in FPS in the thick of battle. This can be easily smoothed out by choosing a more powerful configuration or by lowering the graphics settings. So the computer for Escape from Tarkov must be really productive if you want a smooth picture and maximum settings.

A large amount of RAM is required. Not all modern games, except perhaps AAA projects from large companies, consume 12 Gb of memory. The game itself takes up minimal disk space and can run great on an HDD, but using an SSD will make loading more comfortable.

Video card

Due to low optimization and lack of high-resolution textures, 4K gameplay significantly increases the load on the video card and consumes an exorbitant amount of system resources. One video card, even a top one, can hardly cope with this. For Escape from Tarkov, buying two top-end video cards is superfluous. Graphics settings not only add quality, but “eat” computer resources.

The table shows the average FPS in the game Escape from Tarkov on different video cards with maximum settings, version 2022.

FPS 1920×1080
FullHD
2560×1440
2K
3840×2160
UltraHD
GeForce RTX 3060 75 50 20
GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 100 80 40
GeForce RTX 3070 70+ 75 47
GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 95+ 85 50
GeForce RTX 3080 120+ 105 95

FPS are averages and are intended to show relative system performance at maximum graphics settings.

As you can see, optimization in the game still suffers. Based on FPS numbers, either the RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 3080 is the best solution for FullHD. Since the game is multiplayer, the increased FPS can help you in combat. This requires a gaming monitor with an increased number of hertz (75, 90, 120, 144) and an appropriate graphics card that can provide the desired level of performance.

If you decide to play at a higher resolution, so that the frame rate does not sag below 60-70, you can use DLSS technology or, in extreme cases, lower the graphics settings a little. This will not greatly affect the picture, but will significantly increase the FPS.

How much memory is needed

Unlike other parameters, video memory loads are more or less stable.

  • At maximum memory settings at 4K resolution, the game takes up to 3.5 Gb of video memory.
  • On the same settings at 2K memory consumption drops sharply to 2.5 Gb.
  • At FullHD resolution with maximum speeds of more than 2 Gb, video memory is not used.

Processor

The developers do not indicate the exact models of processors, but according to the tests, we can definitely say that the game takes no more than 4 computing threads, and it is better that these are physical cores. There are practically no modern CPU models with so many cores, the nearest actual pebble has 6 cores.

  • The Intel Core i5-12400(F) and i5-12600(F) are great processors for a gaming PC if you’re looking to play FullHD/2K.
  • The

  • Intel Core i7-12700(F) and i9-12900(F) are more advanced models for 4K gaming, streaming, video processing, virtual reality, and other near-gaming tasks.

RAM

The game is not very stable, so the results may vary depending on the build of the computer and the version of the game. The amount of video memory also affects, if it is enough, then the use of the RAM will be standard, as described below, but in case of a lack of video memory, the use of the RAM will increase.

  • At maximum settings in 4K, up to 13 Gb of RAM is used, which fits into the required computer specifications for Escape from Tarkov.
  • At other resolutions, the amount of memory consumed will be up to 12 Gb, as the developers indicate.
  • At the minimum graphics settings, you only need 5.5 Gb of RAM.

Program for monitoring the system in games, how to monitor the load of the computer and view the load and performance of the processor and video card

When installing new games, the user has to check whether the computer meets the system requirements. In addition, for a comfortable game, checks are often carried out using programs that allow you to monitor the system right during the game.

Why is system monitoring necessary in games?

In order for the graphics to display properly on the computer screen, it is recommended to pass a performance test. Especially when it comes to video cards. Here the user should be interested in the number of frames to be changed at one point in time. In the application, this function is called FPS or frame rate.

The saturation of the graphics, the clarity of the display of all elements and the smoothness of the frames depend on this indicator. For a quality game, the indicator should be equal to 60 FPS. Loading with graphics delays starts below 25 FPS.

However, it is quite difficult to achieve the maximum result for modern toys. To do this, you need to take care of a powerful video card and a processor that can process graphics correctly.

In programs that are responsible for monitoring the system in games, not only current indicators are displayed. With their help, you can find the optimal values at which the system will not be overloaded, and the graphics will be of high quality.

The best programs for system monitoring in games

There are many programs on the Internet that allow you to monitor systems during the game. All of them have their own advantages. Users choose an application based on criteria such as user-friendly interface and displayed information.

MSI Afterburner

MSI Afterburner is most often used to monitor the load of the computer in games. With its help, you can also overclock the clock frequency of video cards. Thus, the graphics in computer toys will be many times better. But with this parameter it is necessary to work carefully so that the component does not fail. The application works with many models of video cards, regardless of whether a chip from AMD or NVIDIA is installed.

To display system parameters, including CPU and GPU load, open the Monitoring tab. Then you need to select the options you want and check the display option .

After saving all the settings, the user can start the game. All set parameters of the system will be displayed in the upper left corner .

FPS monitor

The FPS monitor application is designed for users who want to check their computer load in real time. All data is displayed on the screen over the running toy. The user can display information in text form or with the help of graphs.

The program does not require any preliminary settings. It is enough to run it, and then turn on the computer toy. The user can move all information to any part of the screen.

Fraps

Fraps features a simple interface. The program is easy enough to understand. All data is displayed over the computer game. Therefore, the user does not need to switch between processes.

Also, the application provides the ability to record the screen and take screenshots. This is an added benefit of Fraps, as gamers often record the entire process.

Overwolf

Overwolf is used to display frame rate or FPS . The parameter is displayed in the upper left corner. But, the user can change the location of the counter. The application interface has Russian localization and is provided absolutely free of charge. User can purchase additional plug-ins in a special store.

GeForce Experience

The GeForce Experience program was developed by nVidia to optimize video cards of the same brand. The application has a wide enough functionality to check the performance of the computer during the game. So, the user can optimize the gameplay , check the system, update drivers and start live broadcasts. GeForce Experience also displays frame rate, load and temperature accessories.
