HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 Notebook Test — itcontent.net
The Elite Book x360 1030 G3 was released in May this year, and the developers announced this after the successful launch of the EliteBook x360 1030 G2 last year. The latest model has been updated with a thinner atomizer, more speakers, modern ports and a new KabyLake-R processor. All this is complemented by an ultra-high brightness display (700 nits).
Depending on the configuration, a netbook can have two Intel processors, 8 or 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage, all of which cost around $1,800.
Next to the new x360-1030-G3 Elite is the old version. In the latest model, the lid on the side of the display is narrowed by 50% and the notch at the bottom is reduced by 39%. Even this simple change will have a significant impact on how a closed laptop works (which is more important than a traditional laptop), which will greatly improve performance.
Another visual difference is the appearance of holes on the side of the keyboard to hide the speakers. HP Bang and Olufsen are still focusing on the Specter and Elite Book speaker series, but business users are neutral about sound enhancements.
The base of the netbook is made of CNC-machined aluminium, and has the desired shape. The case looks good, strong and durable. The hinge holds the lid securely in place and prevents it from hanging down. However, both the base and lid turn more easily than expected, and the lid itself lacks central stamina. There’s usually a lot to do, especially compared to the classic Elite Book840. Basically, anyone who works with the Specter13 will have the same experience as the Elite Book x360 1030 G3.
Device
Elite Book x360 1030 G2 port and communication settings changed. The new model will no longer have a card reader, a smart card reader and its own power connector, and now you can choose a SIM card slot. Instead, the device displays an additional USB Type-C for charging. Consumers who require Ethernet and card readers can only compensate by purchasing special adapters or docking stations.
Contact
The Intel 8265 Wireless Adapter, which was carried over from the previous model, retained the stability and speed of the connection. At present, developers are gradually turning to the Intel9 system260 with consumables to enable faster connection with newer models. This means that HP will join the new generation trend of this series.
Models with the Intel XMM 7360 WWAN module are configured to connect to the Long Term Evolution network.
Security
HP is committed to tool security and business data protection. In addition to the standard fingerprint scanner, the device has many unique security technologies at the hardware level. For example, HP Sure Start always keeps a working copy of the BIOS, while HP BIOSphere is responsible for changing and updating the microcode. Detect and stop new attacks. Hewlett-Packard WorkWise lets you connect your laptop to your smartphone via Bluetooth for two-step verification and secure communications. In addition, pressing a button may significantly limit the viewing angle of the display, making it impossible to obtain personal information from intelligent sources.
Service
Bottom cover secured with five T5 Torx screws. Unfortunately, all sides are covered in an amazing way, so accidental disassembly can easily damage the case. As described in the HP care instructions, many components can be replaced, including the WWAN module and M.2 drive.
The warranty period is one year and you can get this service from HP CarePack.
The main disadvantage of the previous model is its low brightness. On the updated netbook, the display brightness is increased by 75%, which is the final configuration of the 400-fiber glossy display.
