Intel Celeron J1750 Processor — NotebookCheck.net Reviews
Intel Celeron J1750 is an energy saving chip for ultra-compact desktop PCs. Its dual-core Atom processor is based on the Bay Trail-D architecture and runs at up to 2.41 GHz. Thanks to the optimized 22nm manufacturing process (P1271) using 3D transistors, performance and power consumption have improved significantly compared to previous generations.
Architecture
The new Silvermont architecture is the first out-of-order execution in Atom processors. Increased pipeline usage and other improvements (optimized branch predictor, larger buffers, and upgraded decoders) have increased performance per clock by about 50 percent. At the same time, support for Hyper-Threading technology, which was present in the previous generation of Atom, was removed, but support for the new SSE 4.1 and 4.2 instruction sets was added, and in some models, AES.
Performance
Improved performance per clock provides a significant performance boost over previous generations of Atom processors such as the D2560. The Celeron J1750 is on par with outdated AMD Turion processors such as the RM-72 — this performance is quite sufficient for working with office applications or a browser, but not for games or complex tasks like 3D modeling.
Video card
HD Graphics (Bay Trail) is based on the same architecture as used in graphics cards built into Ivy Bridge processors (eg HD Graphics 4000). But in this case, it is equipped with a very small number of actuators (only 4) and operates at low frequencies (688-750 MHz). Performance is thus even lower than HD Graphics (Ivy Bridge). Only old and undemanding games will run at an acceptable speed.
