A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting

My A6210 adaptor keeps disconnecting. I am running windows 10, have installed the latest drivers, disabled the «allow windows to turn off adaptor to save power» option and used windows diagnostics to reset the adaptor and yet it still constantly disconnects. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting

As far as I can tell, this affects a lot of A6210 users (me included) and the cause has not been identified or even acknowledged by Netgear. One of the forum moderaters (JamesGL) asks affected users to jump through a variety of hoops but nothing actually fixes the problem. Hard to guess, but the most likely culprit appears to be poor drivers.

The A6210 contains a Mediatek MT7612U chipset. Some users have tried using Mediatek drivers instead of Netgear’s version.

Refer this link

Although some have reported success using the Mediatek drivers, others have failed. The Mediatek drivers didnt work for me.

I’m running Win7 x64 SP1.

I’ve reset TCPIP stack, flushed DNS cache, removed all existing WiFi network profiles, removed or disbled all unused network devices, cleaned all file caches and temp files, updated USB3 drivers, reverted router to defaults and recreated ISP connection settings and WLAN settings from scratch. Although things sometimes seemed better after doing all this, it was an illusion — the problems still occur.

Note also there is a long (240+ posts) thread discussing issues associated with Windows 10, which contains the same suggested fix as the link above.

Re: A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting

@JamesGL,

Can you (or someone who knows) please provide descriptions (including optimal settings) for each parameter in the Advanced tab of the adapter properties in Windows?

Channel Mode     (Mine is set to 2.4G + 5G)

EDCCA     (Mine is set to Enable)

iEEE802.11n     (Mine is set to Enable)

Max USB Speed     (Mine is set to USB3)

Multimedia/Gaming Environment    (Mine is set to Disable)

Prefer 5G    (Mine is set to Enable)

Radio On/Off    (Mine is set to Enable)

Roam Tendency    (Mine is set to 1. Off)

Additionally, the driver Revion History for 1.0.0.34 refers to the following as a known issue:

«Always set U2 mode in ETRON & ASMedia USB 3.0 Host control»

I’m using an ASMedia USB controller (with latested firmware)

I cant find any reference to «U2 Mode» and previous queries on this forum seem to remain unanswered

Re: A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting

Forgive hijacking but I have same issues as you as we are W10 users, with latest drivers on adapter, router and with W10 doing robo updates.  Doing «A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting» searches finds a multitude of hits from W7 upwards using a-z drivers.  I need to search A6210 users using W10 that have no real issues but all i find are the ones that do.

Do ANY of the forum users uses both the A6210 and Windows 10 with no issues on the 5g band?  I would also like to see what is hardware certified but fat chance, no?

I can only add that if I drop rate to 130Mbps, everything is fine!  Once the rate is raised via router to 300Mbps, I’m back on ice with the disconnects. Once disconnected I normally have to manually reconnect unless doing restart or such. Reconnects can take two minutes or seconds.  At the 130Mps all is ready before desktop fully booted.  I have not tried adapter on a second machine but will just to rule out my AsRock motherboard and USB 3.0 ports.  I monitor my connections with inSIDDer for both link quality, 100%, signal strength and to avoid my channel hopping neighbors.

I post here as tech support are still much at the script level after two calls. .LOL would U want their job?

Re: A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting

Ditto here, but on Win 7 x64.

This morning i couldnt get the A6210 to connect at all, no matter what I did. Always «Limited access», whether using DHCP or static IP. When using static IP, the config never saves the gateway IP (ie save settings>re-open dialog>gateway IP is blank).

I’ve reverted to an old WiFi adapter which works perfectly every time. It’s slower of course, but at least it works…I simply dont have time to continually troubleshoot this piece of junk from Netgear/Mediatek.

Re: A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting

Hi Diggo,

The default should be followed on the settings you have provided. Some are optional to configure. The MAX speed is set to 2.0 by default which you can configure to be set to 3.0.

The «Always set U2 mode in ETRON & ASMedia USB 3.0 Host control» is still a known issue as indicated on the release notes.

Re: A6210 Wireless Adapter Keeps Disconnecting

Hi James

Thanks for responding

I understand U2 Mode is an issue — that wasnt my question. My question was «what is U2 Mode?»

Is it specific to Windows 10?  (I’m using Win 7) and is that the reason I cant find the setting parameter?

Is it an abbreviation of USB 2. 0?

Multimedia games for kids to learn about the environment, children, toddlers, preschoolers

Several online games for children teach about Mother Earth and how to be environment-friendly. Here are some top educational games online that your child can play to learn about the environment.

We cannot deny the fact that we live in the age of multimedia. But, the rise of multimedia does not necessarily mean that the environment is doomed. So, how can you go about instilling a sense of responsibility for wildlife conservation, environment preservation and sustainable living in your child? The answer is through multimedia gaming or online games. It is one of the best ways to use multimedia in education. Online gaming, a favourite with kids today, can be used to teach children about the ecology and the pollution problems we face today. This is one of the many benefits of multimedia in education. Free online games for kids have been developed in such a manner that they can teach your child resource management, logistics, strategising, real life skills and much more. Let’s look at a few games that exhibit all the advantages of multimedia in education.

1. Farm Up

Created by Big Fish, Inc. this is one of the few games for kids that will make them think creatively and scientifically about planting an entire garden. This gardening game involves Jennifer’s attempts to restore her family-garden which she has inherited. It also includes tasks where your child can feed animals and upgrade her farming skills. It’s a free game which is available for download for iPhone and Android.

2. Green City 2

Originally an online game for PC, it can be downloaded onto an iPhone or an Android for your pre-teen. Also, a Big Fish creation, this game isn’t free. However, this 54-stage nail-biting educational game for kids is one of the best when it comes to developing strategy and becoming eco-friendly. The game comprises restoring buildings, cleaning neighbourhoods, building eco-houses with solar panels, starting green energy plants and educating the masses on an eco-urban lifestyle. It’s all about striking the ultimate ecological balance.

3. The Garbage Dreams Game

Intended for any age-group, this online game may be categorised as an earth game about recycling. The game is about Zaballeen, or Egyptian garbage-recycler, who must recycle 80 per cent of the garbage he collects! He begins with one neighbourhood and plays on to clean up the whole of Cairo. His tools: recycling factories and goats! This too is a free online game which can be played on any kind of mobile device or PC.

4. Smog City 2

Believe it or not, this PC game is advocated by school teachers! Created by the US Environmental Protection Agency and Sacramento Air Quality Management District, Smog City 2 is one of the best online games that caters for all age groups. Simulators are available for game download for gripping graphics of pollutants and the ozone layer. This online educational game requires the gamer to observe the pollutants and arrive at possible solutions to save the city from smog. This exceptional earth game includes social studies, health, science and government problems and their solutions.

5. Clim’Way

The brainchild of the Victoria State Government, this game on nature conservation, in its efforts to educate children from all age groups about climate change, asks gamers to come up with a plan to manage resources and greenhouse gas emissions in 50 years. Involving the public authorities, private enterprises and ordinary citizens, the gamer has to look into numerous details regarding climate change. This makes the free online game more difficult with every passing level.

6. The Story of Natural Resources

Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) forms the basis of this game that could be the key to the future of planet earth. Designed for classrooms, this offline game is a popular tool used by teachers. Ferguson (the guide) will escort the gamer through a city that faces lots of problems with its natural resources. The gamer must help Ferguson find solutions to these problems. Though intricate, this game on sustainability is sure to captivate and educate your child.

7. Resourceful Adventure

Another short game based on the NGSS, this easy-to-download educational game is an obstacle course. The only way the gamer can cross the obstacles is by answering sets of multiple choice questions on renewable and non-renewable sources of energy. Supported by iPhones and Android devices, this is a power-packed educational game for your child!

8. Crunch Time

A huge success in schools, Crunch Time is an interactive quiz that is available for download for free. It can be supported by any device and is a multiplayer online game. Eddie the Earth guides the gamers as they play against each other to gain new avatars and find solutions to rid the earth of pollution. The competitive nature of this game is very high.

9. Sustainable Shaun the Sheep

Designed by Sustainable Learning, this game aims to create an inspiration among children to save and maintain the environment. Free and available for download, the game engages young children in the task of building an eco-friendly place for the stray animals in a city. At the end of the game, Shaun the Sheep and his animal friends can live there.

10. Watersense

A game for all age groups, Watersense was created by the US Environmental Protection Agency. Accompanied by a water-drop named Flo, your child must answer questions on water conservation to defeat the water-waster monsters as she travels through water-pipes. A free game that can be played on any device, it will give your child a lot of information on water conservation.

These are only a few earth games that are available online. There are many more to explore before you decide on what’s best for your child. Although these games are safe and educational, remember that the Internet is not a place for your child to explore without supervision. Help him make educated choices, monitor his online movements and ensure that all searches are secure. Teach your child to be responsible towards Mother Earth through these fun games.

WiFi multimedia gaming environment — what is it? (Wi-Fi WMM Multimedia)

Greetings dear friends! Today we’ll talk about a wireless network adapter .. that is, Wi-Fi, or rather, about one setting that can be found in the advanced options. I will write everything in simple words, let’s go to understand!

Description

WiFi Multimedia Gaming Environment — Traffic Priority Activation Feature, which prioritizes the most important network traffic. nine0010

This option can be found in the settings of wireless cards, as well as in routers. Priority can be set automatically or manually, depending on the device model.

Understanding

  1. This function can be found not only in wireless cards, but also in routers. The English name is Wi-Fi WMM Multimedia.
  2. Purpose — allows you to prioritize traffic so that the most important traffic is processed first. For example, you are playing an online game so that the ping is low, the response is good, nothing freezes, it is better that the priority of the online game traffic is higher than the rest. Vibers, Skype, torrents can wait if you are playing an online game. This process option and optimizes. nine0018
  3. The feature may offer a choice of Media or Game Environment. Accordingly, if you watch online movies, videos on the Internet, then it is better to choose the first option. And if you play online games, then the second one, respectively. But maybe just the items Enabled and Disabled, if only these two items, then when turned on, the priority will be set automatically.
  4. The function is based on the IEEE 802.11e standard, which allows you to effectively use QoS (Quality of Service) technology. True, this applies to routers, but I think that everything is the same in wireless adapters. The bottom line is that QoS is an advanced technology for giving different classes of traffic a different priority. QoS technology is supported by Windows itself, even in XP it was. nine0018
  5. Enable or not? According to the description, yes, of course, the function can improve the quality of IP telephony, calls via Viber, Skype and other instant messengers, improve video communication, ping in online games. But in practice, this is not always the case, so it’s worth trying to enable it, if there are no noticeable improvements, then disable it, the fewer any unnecessary options are enabled, the more stable the network adapter will work. But it may also be that, for example, after turning it on, a video on YouTube in 1080 format will work easier. Therefore, it is worth experimenting if desired, if there are any problems with the network. nine0018

The option itself in the advanced settings of the wireless adapter (to open it, right-click on the adapter > Properties > Advanced tab):

But the option can also be called simply WMM:

ADVERTISING

This depends on the adapter model.

Conclusion

Main found out:

  • WiFi Multimedia Game Environment — Traffic prioritization feature that prioritizes the most important network traffic.
  • In simple words — if you play online games, then when you enable the option, the quality of a network game can increase due to the fact that game traffic will be given a high priority compared to other traffic (messengers, torrents, browsers, downloads, etc.).

Good luck and good, see you soon friends! nine0003

WMM WiFi — how to enable, what is it in the router, the ability of apsd, what is a multimedia gaming environment and multimedia gaming environment

Network CommentAsk a questionWrite a post

For many consumers, it is important to use their routers at the maximum technological level. At the same time, it is sometimes necessary to increase the speed characteristics of multimedia programs and files. To meet these needs, router software developers use the WMM mode.

What is WMM

WMM stands for Wi-Fi Multimedia or Multimedia gaming environment. Almost all modern devices support this mode and there are no problems when connecting. nine0003

Based on the IEEE 802. 11e standard, which allows efficient use of the QOS mode. The function allows you to set the priority for multimedia and game traffic. Regular routers do not have the ability to configure WMM settings. However, this does not prevent the most correct use of its characteristics for the priority selection of voice and video files.

Advantages and disadvantages

Like any electronic device, a Wi-Fi Multimedia router has a number of advantages and disadvantages. The main advantages of developers, as well as consumers include:

  • used in almost every modern device for amplifying and distributing data over distances;
  • during operation, it becomes possible to correct errors ;
  • increases the normal working time of connected to wifi gadgets powered by rechargeable batteries;
  • the ability to achieve relatively high performance in the transmission of voice and video signals, due to which it is widespread among modern users. nine0018

The special disadvantages of this function include:

  • the absence of this mode in outdated models of routers;
  • lack of complete setting of absolute priorities for video traffic and voice signals.

Switching on features

With normal settings in many Internet distribution devices, the Wi-Fi Multimedia mode is in the passive state . To activate it on a router, for example, Zyxel or Asus, you need to find the line “ enable WMM «(enable in English). In particular cases, software developers for Internet distribution devices use the index WME , which is basically the same.

Enabling function activates parameter for effective media program maintenance.

Additional features

Modern routers are equipped with some additional features. Many used routers have a number of special additional features:

  1. In the special mode « Infrastructure «, a special function is used to improve communication and signal transmission between equipment WMM dls .
