What are good websites to find computer deals?
There are a ton of sites that sell computers, and scouring through all of them would take you a lot of time—that’s why we do it for you here and highlight the best deals we find. However, to save you some time and frustration, you need to be smart about where you look at any given time of the year.
If you’re looking for a new computer during the holidays or around popular sale periods such as Black Friday or back-to-school, then you are likely to find great deals directly through first party vendor websites. These include the retail storefronts of popular computer manufacturers such as HP, Dell, and Lenovo.
However, if you are looking in between sales periods, it’s generally a good idea to search through large third-party retailers such as Amazon, Adorama, Walmart, BestBuy, and Newegg.
Oftentimes these websites will offer limited Deals of the Day type sales in hopes of getting rid of excess stock. On the upside, you can score still-decent PCs at a steep discount.

When are the best times to find computer deals?
Generally speaking, the best deals are offered during the big sales events each year. These include Prime day, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and the back-to-school period, among others. You will typically see the lowest prices of the year for computers during these events.
That being said, there are opportunities to find one-off sales on computers throughout the year from both first- and third-party vendors. These sales are much harder to predict and usually have a time limit, such as one day or one week. Realistically, the only way to find these sales is by checking vendor websites every day.

What specs should I look for in a good gaming computer?
Since desktop computers don’t have the same restrictions on component size or portability as laptops, the price-to-component ratios are mercifully cheaper than they are in gaming notebooks.
This means you can get more gaming bang for your buck in a desktop gaming PC.
When it comes to gaming, the two most important pieces of hardware you’ll want to focus on are the CPU and GPU. Think of the CPU as the heart of your computer, ultimately determining how your system will perform when running software. When looking at a computer’s CPU, you should pay attention to the processor core count which usually ranges from two to 16 cores. At a minimum, you will want four cores, but you might be able to get up to eight cores without stretching your budget too much. For high-end systems, you should be looking at between eight and 16 cores. Although even for high-level gaming, having more than eight cores won’t add much benefit.
A good GPU is essential for gaming and it is going to be the component you will want to splurge on the most. For budget gamers a card that offers affordability and ray tracing is the sweet spot. These include the Nvidia RTX 3060 or AMD RX 6600 or 6600 XT.
If you want to game in 4K, it is probably best to go with Nvidia’s RTX 3080 or AMD’s RX 6800 XT.
Beyond the CPU and GPU, the other hardware components are less crucial. As for RAM, you should opt for a minimum of 8GB, but ideally 16GB is better—anything over 16GB is largely unnecessary for gaming purposes. RAM is also relatively inexpensive and easy to upgrade if you need more in the future.
For your hard drive, you will want to have at least one SSD, preferably an M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD if you can afford it. SSDs are faster than their spinning disc predecessors and will boot your games faster and provide improved load times. Storage size is more of a personal preference. You should consider the types of games you will want to play and how many you intend to download. If you plan to store a lot of games on your computer, then you will most likely want a 1TB or larger drive. Note that it’s not uncommon for modern games to have file sizes over 100GB.

What makes a good home office computer?
A home office computer should fulfill all of the needs you have for your work. If you work with spreadsheets and multiple programs, you will want a good processor. If you are a content creator then you will need lots of RAM and a blazing fast hard drive.
You should also consider other points such as available space and portability. If you are limited on space, you might want to consider an all-in-one which combines the computer component and monitor into one compact unit. What are the benefits of buying a desktop computer over a laptop?
The main benefit is the cost-to-component ratio. Due to the nature of their use, laptops have design restrictions that desktops simply don’t have. This means you can generally find better hardware in a desktop for cheaper than you can in a laptop.
Desktops also have the unique advantage of being able to pack in better cooling systems. These dissipate more heat and allow your hardware to run more effectively. Also, desktops are easier to upgrade and expand if you choose to do so.

Brief overview of transactions
Attracting investments is an important aspect of business development.
In order for financing to be effective and also meet the goals of the founder and investor, it is necessary to choose the right way to receive investment flows.
All transactions related to financing can be divided into two categories: cash in and cash out*. Cash in investments imply the direction of cash flows exclusively for the development of the business of the recipient company — the founder himself does not receive funds. Cash out transactions are aimed at buying out a share in the company — the money is received by its owner, and not by the business.

Purchase by an investor of a share in a company
A transaction is classified as cash in if the proceeds from the sale of a share become part of the company’s capital and, accordingly, are directed to business development.
Investors have the right to buy shares that belong to the company. In accordance with paragraph 2 of Art. 24 of the Federal Law «On LLC» the transaction is considered possible in the following cases:
- the participant left the company, and his share was not divided among the remaining owners;
- in cases where the participant has the right to demand the repurchase of his share by the company and payment of the cost of this share to him.
According to the law, a share may belong to a company for no more than 1 year, and after this period it must be either divided among the company’s participants, or compensated with funds from the authorized capital, or sold to a third party, in this case, an investor.
This method of attracting investments is quite common and effective, since the funds go to the development of the company. The main thing is to make sure that the sold share really belongs to the LLC.
Contributing funds to the authorized capital of the company
Before the transaction, the founder and the investor must make sure that the company’s charter does not contain clauses prohibiting the expansion of capital by raising funds from third parties.
If there are no restrictions, then the investor has the right to submit an application for depositing funds, which must specify the amount of the deposit, the procedure and term for its transfer, as well as the size of the share claimed by the depositor.
The final decision on the application is made at a meeting of the company’s participants — all owners of the company’s shares must agree with the attraction of funds from the investor and the size of his share in the authorized capital.
It is also possible to increase the authorized capital by attracting additional funds from existing shareholders — in this case, the participants of the company themselves become investors, and the money is directed exclusively to the needs of the business.
Such a transaction is attractive from the point of view of taxation: receipt of funds in the form of an additional deposit is not subject to VAT in accordance with paragraph 3 of Art. 39 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation and is not taken into account as income for taxation of profits — see paragraph 1 of Art.
251 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.
Investment in company property
According to Art. 27 of the Federal Law «On LLC», only members of the company can invest in the company’s property. At the same time, the company’s charter should contain a provision that participants have the right to make additional contributions both in proportion to their shares and regardless of the size of the share. The charter also reflects information about the participants exempted from the need to invest in property, and the maximum amount of funding. Decisions on contributions to property are also made at the meeting of participants — for the adoption of the initiative, the support of at least two-thirds of the voters is required.
Art. 251 of the Tax Code of the Russian Federation, clause 1, property acquired through investments sent by the owner of a share exceeding 50% is received free of charge and is not considered a taxable base.
If the investor’s share is less than 50%, then his investment is recognized as profit and taxed.
Loan
Investors who finance start-ups at an early stage of development can also contribute funds through loans — this format gives the investor a guarantee of at least a partial return of funds. In general, a loan from a third party differs little from a bank lending procedure.
Founders in the early stages try to avoid borrowing — they are more comfortable giving the investor a part of the company’s share than taking on specific financial obligations that will remain even if the business does not succeed. Plus, the loan is issued at a specific percentage, which is not always suitable for start-up entrepreneurs. For an investor, on the contrary, it is beneficial to take out a loan and not risk funds if the startup does not bring profit.
A convertible loan is considered a compromise option.
Convertible loan
This transaction is also a loan, the only difference is that a convertible loan can be converted into a share at the time specified in the agreement.
The conditions under which a loan is converted into shares or shares can be almost anything, the main thing is that they suit both parties. Most often, conversion triggers are: a specific period, reaching profitability, achieving a specific KPI.
This form of investment attraction is considered one of the most profitable for developing start-ups. Until the rules governing such transactions were adopted in Russia, a convertible loan was formalized as a mixed contract. From July 2, 2021, the possibilities and rules for its use are enshrined in Federal Law No. 354 «On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of the Russian Federation».
Investors often limit the financial flow by dividing funds into tranches: a startup can receive the next part of the investment only after certain conditions specified by the investor are met. The law of the Russian Federation allows you to draw up such transactions not only with members of the company, but also with third parties.
Peculiarities of the cash out transaction
Cash out is a transaction in which the funds raised are placed at the personal disposal of the member or founder of the company.
The money does not become the property of the company and is not directed to its development.
The cash out category also includes transactions in which the investor buys out the share of an earlier investor — this format is called exit and allows the investor who sold the share to receive funds at his disposal and leave the company.
The advantage of cash out is the absence of changes in the number of business owners, due to which the management structure remains the same.
Using different types of transactions
The parties have the right to divide the investment flow into parts, arranging some as cash out and others as cash in through a corporate agreement.
In general, each type of fundraising has its own advantages. His choice is based on the goals of founders, community members and investors.
