Pros

  • Great performance
  • Nice Aesthetics
  • Excellent RBG lighting implementation
  • Great Overclocking

Cons

  • Slight high power consumption even at idle. This can be understandable due to lot of features and extra SupremeFX Hi-FI DAC also being powered from same PSU.

Conclusion

The Asus RAMPAGE V Edition 10 is a superb motherboard offering great feature with solid performance and extreme overclocking capabilities. Asus has gone a great job in designing this board with smart PCIe lanes layout that X99 platform offers, allowing the connectivity of 4-Way SLI and Crossfire alongside a high speed PCIe 3.0 x4 SSDs storage solution.

The audio solution on the Asus RAMPAGE V Edition 10 motherboard is very good, but we liked the SupremeFX Hi-FI DAC / headphone amplifier the most. The DAC is well designed with keeping audiophiles in mind and selecting the best audio components to provide superb audio experience over the headphone.

Finally, considering its looks, design, features, RGB lighting, Great Audio and extreme Overclocking capabilities, we found ASUS RAMPAGE V EDITION 10 motherboard a great motherboard for enthusiast and overclockers. With a price tag of Rs.46 — 48K(approx.) this board is way too expensive for the majority of gamers or system builders, but when looking at the price of Intel Core i7-6950X Extreme Edition Processor i.e. about Rs. 140K(approx.), we see the ASUS RAMPAGE V EDITION 10 price acceptable and worthy of our PC TeK Reviews EXCELLENCE Award.

We’ve seen a few exceptional examples of ultra high-end motherboards from all the key players over the years, but it’s Asus’s Rampage for Intel’s premium CPU socket that is often regarded as the ultimate motherboard excluding workstation models. This time around, the company is not only building on the previous Rampage for LGA2011 — the Rampage V Extreme, but this is ROG’s 10th anniversary, so we were expecting something special.

Let us introduce the Rampage V Edition 10 — a £500 monster of a motherboard that hopefully has everything you could possibly want from a Broadwell-E based slab of PCB, including all the features that made the likes of the X99-Deluxe II, ROG Strix X99 and Maximus VIII Formula such great boards recently too.

To start with, there’s obviously a big focus on extreme overclocking. The eight switches near the LED POST code display are for toggling on and off the DIMM and 16x PCI-E slots to deal with misplaced hardware that you might want to switch around or test if it’s working. There’s an LN2 mode jumper, and slow mode switch, additional CPU and PCI-E power connectors, voltage check points, a dual BIOS switch and a ROG extension connector.

These are all in addition to the full works when it comes to overclocking and testing tools such as power and reset buttons, retry and safe boot buttons as well plenty of cooling on the board itself. However, the Rampage has always been about including gamers and general enthusiasts in the mix too, and there’s plenty for those to like here as well.

The board looks fantastic and a peak round the rear shows an integrated I/O panel, with no ugly exposed ports — a first for any motherboard as far as we’re aware. That said, there’s still a shield frame in the box so technically Asus has just filled in the gaps — you still need to use the frame for a totally sealed I/O panel, which seems a bit odd.

There’s extensive RGB lighting covering the PCI-E slots, I/O panel, PCH heatsink and the side of the backplate in one continuous strip, and all areas are individually controllable in the Windows-based Aura software. Thanks to a black colour scheme with none of the red details of old, it’s simple to colour-match the board to your system as a result.

One of the most popular games in recent years. In it, all players are engaged in terraforming Mars, that is, turning it into a habitable planet. Each will represent their corporation on Mars, and the most influential will bring victory to its owner. In two hours you will go from a very small company that produces practically nothing on a lifeless Mars to a huge corporation on a planet with oceans, wildlife and cities.

This game is all about the upgrade cards you choose for your company. Building a working engine, creating successful combinations of cards is what brings great pleasure in this game. The path of development of your corporation can be completely different. And at the end of the game, you will look at your brainchild with great satisfaction and think about what could be changed, and what tactics worked well for you. If you like to create, then this game is for you.

Classic family game with tile-laying mechanics. She is known to a lot of people, so in any company (with family or friends) she will go with a bang 🙂

The game has a huge number of additions that make it even more diverse, bring new rules and elements. There are about 10 of them in Russian now!

A very nice territory control game. There is a lot of bluffing, miscalculation and strategy here. One of the few games from this genre that is well played together. The base is played with up to 4 players, with the addition of the Seasons you can play in 5m.

Very versatile and compact game. There are roles and bluffs, building and planning. The game is good both for a large company of up to 8 people, and for parties together.

What happens if Indiana Jones saves the world from Cthulhu? It is on this plot that your adventures in the Ancient Horror will develop. Traveling around the world in search of clues, fighting monsters in different cities, expeditions for ancient artifacts — if you put it all together, you get a great movie plot. And yes, in this game, unlike Arkham Horror, you get more of an adventure movie than a horror movie.

We usually play like this: dim the lights, turn on the music (we recommend melodice, where you can get themed music by the name of the board game) and, of course, read all the artistic text on the cards. Each time we have a new coherent story, a new adventure, with its ups and downs that we remember for a long time. At the moment, this is one of the best games that allows you to create your own story. If you appreciate the atmosphere in games, then we recommend the Ancient Horror.

Very dynamic and simple duel. The Star Empires game keeps you in suspense and does not get bored after dozens of games. The perfect game for your collection: cheap, fast and compact.

An alternative version of the beginning of the last century, in which huge robots walk across the expanses of Eastern Europe. The sickle looks very cool — from numerous illustrations on all maps to luxurious miniatures of heroes and robots. This game has been one of the most talked about board games in the world and has raised $2 million on kickstarter! After a few years, the hype subsided, but now we can say that the game has successfully passed the test of time and has become one of the best modern strategy games.

It’s all here: resource production, player-to-player battles, hidden targets… And it all intertwines very well into one very exciting and balanced process.

A classic duel game.

A pleasant and uncomplicated family game that is familiar to many. You will lay routes on the maps of Europe, the Nordic countries, America, etc. Huge circulations in Russia and abroad speak of the huge popularity of this family game.

A very fun and aggressive game about battles for the glory of Odin. You will improve your clan, fight each other, send fighters to their death in Ragnarok and earn fame points.

There are a lot of strategies in the game due to the large number of upgrade cards. It’s not a shame to lose in battles at all, since points can also bring losses, and all the figures will return to you from Valhalla every round. That’s why it’s so exciting and many players like it

The base game is designed for 2-4 players, but there is a 5-player add-on, as well as Gods of Asgard and Wizards of Midgard add-ons that will make the game even more interesting after you play a lot of the base game. version.

Nice family game with great components.

In this game, the class is felt in everything. In a pleasant field, in nice wooden components, quality cards and, of course, the theme itself! You won’t run from zombies or orcs, you won’t put up armies of fictional characters… You’ll grow grapes, make wine and sell to your customers. Winemaking can be played together with a loved one, four of two couples, at a family table with children, with your boss and more.

For those who want to organize a very light and quiet evening, but at the same time, to have something to think about.

Fun in a box! You and your friends (up to 6 people, we recommend exactly 5-6) will rob the train. Every man for himself, whoever takes the most is the winner. You will rush all over the train, shoot at rivals, take away bags of money from them and control the sheriff, who really does not like what is happening on his train!

The highlight of this game is how action cards are played. You lay them out in turn, but do not perform actions at once. For example, the first player says that he will go down to the car, the second says that he will shoot, the third will run forward and so on for several rounds of actions. Then you collect a common pile of cards and begin to perform all these actions. And from this moment the most interesting begins. Why is he shooting in the air? Why is she going to meet the sheriff? Someone ran into a stray bullet. Real chaos! And an even more amusing situation arises when the train enters the tunnel: everyone lays their cards face down. Anything can happen in a tunnel!

This game is not for serious strategies, here you just need to relax and have fun, then you are guaranteed to have a great time.

The game also has a simplified and accelerated version: Colt Super Express

Lovecraftian co-op game with big miniatures, plot twists and, of course, battles with monsters from other worlds. You will pass the game using an application on your phone or tablet, which greatly speeds up the process of learning the rules.

The game has additions:

Control of territories in the setting of your favorite books and series. A game with a huge fan base) There are a lot of clubs and game cells that play only it.

Asymmetric territory control game. Here, each faction will have its own rules and its own victory conditions. Therefore, you will definitely want to play for all factions. Complex and deep strategy with very nice components.

This is a game with a basic drafting (card selection) mechanic, meaning you will all move at the same time, there is no waiting time for your turn. Choosing cards for the production of resources, military or scientific cards, you will develop your civilization and try to score as many points as possible.

A kind of cat and mouse, where one hero, a creature, plays against all the crashed astronauts, and tries to catch them. The goal of the astronauts is to hold out until the rescue ship arrives, the goal of the creature is to leave them on the planet. The game has a lot of interesting cards that make every game memorable

Foreign media review: Macron’s fury and «chaos on the covers» in Britain

October 20

Elena Proshina

«Makron was furious over Scholz’s decision»

Photo: globallookpress.comgloballookpress.com

French President Emmanuel Macron has postponed a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz out of «rage» over Germany’s energy aid scheme. Traditional government consultations scheduled for next week have been postponed until January, according to The Telegraph.

Video of the day

The decision «signals a growing gap between EU states in the areas of energy and defense.» A Telegraph source in diplomatic circles said that «the French are very angry with the Germans, especially with Scholz.» Macron was «furious» at Scholz’s decision to allocate 200 billion euros to support national energy. The French president warned that the program could lead to «distortions» in the EU.

Spain plans to train 400 Ukrainian soldiers

Spain is ready to train 400 Ukrainian soldiers as part of a new EU military assistance mission to Ukraine, El Pais reports. In general, different EU countries must train 15,000 soldiers in two years.

The European Union plans to spend 106.7 million euros on the mission. A few days ago, Spain also handed over four MIM-23 HAWK air defense systems to Ukraine «in response to an urgent appeal from Washington.»

British newspapers came out with the same word on the cover

BBC News reported that the resignation of British Home Secretary Swella Braverman was in the lead in most newspapers on 20 October. All of these publications included the word «chaos» in their covers.

The cover of the newspaper i says that «chaos reigns at the heart of the British government». Braverman’s resignation «rocks the government on a day of chaos in Westminster,» writes the Daily Telegraph. Many believe that Liz Truss will now be overthrown by the cabal within a few days, possibly by the weekend. The Daily Mail writes that the prime minister fired Braverman after the interior minister spoke out against the government’s immigration policy.

Why Russia’s «strategic defeat» theory won’t work

Journalist Leonid Bershidsky, in his article for Bloomberg, criticized Russia’s «strategic defeat» theory, which some European and American politicians hope to realize. In their opinion, losing in the Ukrainian crisis would deprive the Russian Federation of its global ambitions and turn it into a “normal country”.

However, the current destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure throws Ukraine back to the Middle Ages, so the advantages of Kyiv in the form of motivation and tactical potential «may not be very effective,» Bershidsky believes. In addition, the replenishment of the Russian army with mobilized will not allow breaking through the defense of the Russian Federation. According to the author, the West could try to break Russia only by using its soldiers on the battlefield, but this option is not considered because of nuclear weapons.
