GPU fried on default settings.
I tried turning the computer on but the leds on my cooling fans would flash then turn off. The actual computer would not. I took it in for a diagnostic and the GPU had shorted, and as a failsafe the computer wouldn’t turn on to prevent further damage. I had tinkered with the Watt Management settings to run the fans faster at lower temps than the default settings because I explicitly did not want the card to fry

Lets See How Noisy or Quiet This Card Is, and What Is Its Best Use?
This is 10-15C cooler than the max GPU temp (Tmax). TEST ENVIRONMENT: — SMALL COMPUTER CASE with lots of air venting (a worst case case for noise) — NO OTHER FANS in the case other than CPU fan — GPU at 100% load RESULTS: (1) 33%-50% fan speeds all result in 79C, nearly silent 2’+ away 55% fan speed result in 78C, and still quiet enough for under desk 65% fan speed result in 75C, Audible 4’+ away, OKish under desk 75% fan speed result in 70C, Audible 4’+ away, audible under desk 80% fan speed is MUCH noisier than even 75% (2) I CHOSE TO MOSTLY RUN AT 33% fan speed (lowest settable) since at 79C we are still well under the 82-87C goal. At that fan speed it is INAUDIBLE UNDER THE DESK. 33% Fan Speed translates to 1,940-2,090 RPM

Great for the price, but you get what you paid for.
-Doesn’t consume as much power as I’d expect. -VERY Quiet. I sometimes need to check that the fans are running sometimes lol Cons: -Seems like it’s very picky with what games it can run well -Gets very hot suddenly -The MSRP is quite high for the performance gained

Decent budget 64 bit card ideal for slim case
If you’re looking for a review on performance, skip this review. I was swapping out an older mobo from a mid atx tower to a slim case. I needed a low profile, low power consumption video card capable of DirectX12 to replace the GT630 on this old AMD triple core pc with only a 300W PSU running Win10 64bit. For $75 the GT1030 was a good value option considering GT 730 and 710 were selling for approx $65\60

Good for some basic gaming.
I am not judging this product against high-end GPUs because that is not what this is good for. This is good for someone who is not a hardcore PC gamer and just wants to play some basic games like Minecraft or whatever and doesn’t want to shell out a ton of money.

I’m leaning towards the GTX 970 as it is cheapest and my dad (was self employed in the pc industry with both software and hardware for 15 years) says it’s still a very good card. Obviously cards like the RTX 3090 are out of the question but I’m looking for something at most under £200.

Exceeded expectations, GREAT value
I have to say that this card is really great for the price and an outstanding choice for an entry-level graphics card for gamers on a budget.

High value, but verify software availability before ordering
1 but AMD’s software downloads for this card only support either Windows 7 or Windows 10. Thinking «backwards compatibility» I downloaded and ran the Windows 7 graphics software download for this card; that got me 1920×1080 resolution display but no (incompatible with Windows 8.1, minus one star) RadeonSupport.exe control software

Great low electricity card with decent gaming capabilities.
She wasn’t able to get high quality textures on even basic games like starcraft 2. I replaced her card with this and now she can max out all the settings and it works great. One requirement for me: the card I bought needed to be able to use basic PCI power and not require one of those 6 pin plugs from the power supply since her power supply is cheap and doesn’t have any. This card does not require a separate power cable

Great Budget Card, plays anything you want. Even VR
Did a bunch of research. Looked at a bunch of benchmarks. Decided to buy it. It was super easy to install and booted the first time

Good card to bring new life to an old system, but…
If you are considering this for a modern gaming rig, I would quickly advise spending the money toward a proper modern card. 3DMark Time Spy gets around 1200 GPU at 7-10 fps (OC actually gave slightly worse scores in GPU), but the card shines on low-complexity with all the supported APIs. Also, do not install the included OC engine if you’re running a recent revision of Windows 10. Stick to the base drivers and MSI Afterburner
