Perhaps the best processor review of 2016 and 2017: Xeon E5-2696 v3 QS

Xeon E5-2699 v3 reviews

Yes, you just answered very categorically and with sarcasm. And now too. Many of my friends have BU and serious projects. Often the price-quality of the top is very weak, and some BUs are in no way inferior and it doesn’t take much time for even a little knowledgeable people as you say \»to rummage\». As if looking for new tops \»do not rummage\».

They are killed by the Chinese …. or even a re-marked one you can buy … I personally took it for Avito for 35k, just in perfect condition … but about the ryzens, they are still damp … .. according to tests, they have glitches there all the time Yes, and they are chasing badly …. but this one, if you make a turbocharger for all cores, no ryzen will catch up ….

finally normal tests, I have almost no comments on their implementation, but it would be nice to show the monitoring numbers in the thought (the picture was cut off before the beginning of the graphs) and see the load distribution among the processor cores (this can be shown by displaying the task manager in display mode core load)

The process of mining cryptocurrency by finding a hash using the computing power of the central processor is called mining on the processor. Interestingly, this method was used by the creator of bitcoin Satoshi Nakamoto. The latter managed to mine about 1 million BTC (about $ 50.3 billion), which is not at all surprising, because about bitcoin in 2009only a few dozen people knew. Komsomolskaya Pravda reviewed in detail the best mining processors for 2022 that can make a profit.

The new virtual currency has fueled the interest of users around the world and led to an incredible growth in the number of players in the market. Today, mining bitcoin on a processor is quite difficult. After some time, video cards and ASIC miners appeared, which gradually began to displace processors, as they guaranteed higher profitability. Despite this, many users have remained faithful to the original technology. They use it to earn altcoins (alternative coins that appeared after Bitcoin). There are a number of good reasons for this. One of them is the ease of getting started.

In order to start mining cryptocurrency on the processor, you need to take just a few simple steps. In particular, install a program to work on a personal computer, create an electronic wallet, select a suitable mining pool and start. It looks like a child can handle it too. However, for the high efficiency of cryptocurrency mining, it is necessary to take into account many features, such as the type of processor, its speed, cooling, optimization, and others.

To date, the best processor model for cryptocurrency mining, according to network users, is AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X. This model is very expensive, but quickly pays off. It has 32 cores and 64 threads. In the new Castle Peak design, the memory controller and the PCI Express 4.0 controller are placed in a separate chiplet, so that all processor cores have equal access to all memory and all expansion devices. This makes any delays in work not only predictable, but also reduces their likelihood, which is extremely important for mining. The high power of this processor requires high-quality cooling. There are no coolers in the basic configuration of the system, but they can be purchased separately in almost any hardware store, since this processor is compatible with many models. AMD’s second most common processor. At its base are not two, but three semiconductor crystals at once — chiplets. The first is the universal 12nm cIOD chiplet, which is responsible for the input and output functions. Inside it are a memory controller, a PCI Express controller, and SoC elements. The other two are 7nm COD chiplets. They contain computing cores, eight pieces each. Therefore, it is not surprising that the demand for this model is quite high. Not to mention that it is ideal not only for mining but also for everyday work.

Pros and cons

Excellent performance, at high performance the temperature does not exceed 75 degrees Celsius

Additional configuration is required for efficient operation

4. AMD Ryzen 7 5800X processor

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X can be attributed to a relatively budget category of devices. The price of this device is almost 2-3 times lower than that of the above analogues. As for the technical characteristics, this device combines two semiconductor crystals (chiplets). One of them is eight-core, and the second is six-core. The latter is responsible for external interfaces. This model is not only a simple and effective implementation of the microarchitecture, but also the most suitable option for the mass user. In addition to an attractive core layout, this processor can offer impressive clock speeds, which are multiplied by a high IPC.

Pros and cons

How to choose a processor for cryptocurrency mining

Choosing a processor for mining is not so difficult as it might seem at first glance. Komsomolskaya Pravda turned to programmer and system engineer of IT company Ahmed Ajaj . He spoke in detail about the most important parameters that must be considered when choosing a processor.

Motherboard compatibility

The first thing to consider when choosing a processor is its motherboard compatibility. The latter must have an appropriate socket for the device (Socket). If the processor is purchased for the motherboard that you already have, then find out its model and pay attention to the list of processors with which it is compatible.

BOX or OEM

In our case, it is desirable that the processor be of the BOX version, since the kit will already include a cooling radiator. You don’t have to buy it extra. However, you can also purchase an OEM version. It costs a little less, and with the price difference you can buy a cooler separately.

Price

As you can see, the cost of different processors may differ several times. The best option will be the one that will definitely pay off even in the long run. Consider this fact before buying. If you have just started mining, then you should not buy the most expensive processor.

Hashrate

Hashrate is a measure of the power of computing equipment for mining or blockchain network. The higher this indicator, the more likely it is to receive a reward for the miner. You can calculate the hashrate for a processor using a special calculator, which is freely available on the network.

Conclusion

Given that today there are video cards and ASIC miners, it is quite expensive to purchase a high-quality processor exclusively for mining.
