Ryzen 5 3600
- The Ryzen 5 3600 has higher Level 3 Cache. This is useful when you have substantial multiprocessing workloads, many computationally intense simultaneous processes. More likely on a server, less on a personally used computer for interactive desktop workloads.
- For some games, a cpu with a higher clock speed, or in a technical name IPC (Instructions per clock), has better results than other CPU’s with higher core count and lower core speed.
- The Ryzen 5 3600 has a higher turbo clock boost. Turbo Boost is a CPU feature that will run CPU clock speed faster than its base clock, if certain conditions are present. It will enable older software that runs on fewer cores, to perform better on newer hardware. Since games are software too, it is also applicable to them.
- The Ryzen 5 3600 has a smaller process size. The faster a transistor can toggle on and off, the faster it can do work. And transistors that turn on and off with less energy are more efficient, reducing the operating power, or “dynamic power consumption,” required by a processor.
Ryzen 7 2700
- The Ryzen 7 2700 has more cores. The benefit of having more cores is that the system can handle more threads. Each core can handle a separate stream of data. This architecture greatly increases the performance of a system that is running concurrent applications.
- The Ryzen 7 2700 has more threads. Larger programs are divided into threads (small sections) so that the processor can execute them simultaneously to get faster execution.

The difference between the PRO version of the processor and the standard one is the presence of AMD Secure security technology, support for Windows 10 security tools, Windows Server, hardware 128-bit data encryption and other means of protection against unauthorized access to the PC. In all other respects, the Ryzen 5 PRO 3600 and Ryzen 5 3600 are identical.
Ever since the Zen1 architecture released in 2017 and built on it a really popular and productive 6-core Ryzen 5 1600, Advanced Micro Devices has begun to actively recapture the processor market of medium and mid-budget price positions. And the Core i5 competitor (and its successor, the Ryzen 5 2600) really has a lot to offer: 6 cores, 12 threads, comparable clock speeds and overclocking capability, and significantly more affordable prices than Intel, all this more than compensates for a few percent. losing in game tests.
With the advent of the Ryzen 5 3600, everything has changed. AMD has done a really titanic job of transferring the Zen core to 7nm «rails» (technological process), also significantly improving it, improving the instruction sets and increasing the number of operations per clock. The resulting Zen2 core opened a new page in the history of processor building and performance, and perhaps it was the Ryzen 5 3600 that led it. Why him? The answer is simple, 3600 is the youngest, which means the most budget processor in the series, which has an excellent price / performance ratio. So great that AMD had to drastically cut prices on all previous models. And even the 8-core 16-thread Ryzen 7 2700 began to cost less than the Ryzen 5 3600 ($180 versus $200) because the latter, despite the smaller number of cores, beats the competitor in all tests due to the new technology. But not only 2700 wins a newcomer. In gaming tests (which have always been a strong point of Intel processors), it, albeit slightly, wins even its direct price competitor Core i5 9400F.
