Google CEO forced the whole team to test Bard — AI technology that is designed to «destroy» ChatGPT
Google CEO Sundar Pichai wrote a memo urging all employees to actively test Bard. He also noted that the company will soon engage partners to test an API that allows other developers to program applications based on Google’s AI technology.

On Monday, Pichai publicly announced his own Google chatbot, called Bard, which is expected to be rolled out in the coming weeks. Bard is based on the Google Language Model for Dialogue Applications (LaMDA) platform, the exact technology that the company’s former engineer allegedly found «signs of consciousness.»
Google is facing pressure from investors and employees amid the popularity of ChatGPT, a realistic text generator developed by OpenAI. Microsoft actively supports the startup and is rumored to be investing billions of dollars in it, and the chatbot will integrate with its own Bing search engine as early as March.
“Next week, we’ll be getting everyone at Google to help build Bard and test the internal version. We look forward to all your feedback — more details coming soon,» Pichai wrote in an email to employees that was reviewed by CNBC.

The term «internal version» in companies refers to the practice of using their own product before launching it. Pichai also added that Google Search chief Prabhakar Raghavan will «share the progress» at an event in Paris later this week (Microsoft will also be hosting its own event soon, featuring OpenAI CEO Sam Altman).

Previously, Google’s CEO blogged that Bard must be rigorously reviewed to meet «a high standard of quality, security, and real-world validity.»
“There is a lot of hard and exciting work ahead of us to integrate these technologies into our products and continue to use the best of Google Al to improve people’s lives. We approached this work with an intensity and purpose that reminds me of the early days of Google — so thanks to everyone who contributed,» Pichai wrote.

Going forward, Google will allow third-party developers to build their own applications and products using the same underlying LaMDA technology via an API.
“Next month, we will begin engaging individual developers, creators, and enterprises to test generative language APIs originally developed on LaMDA with a range of role models. Over time, our goal is to create a set of tools and APIs that will make it easier for others to create more innovative software with AI,” Pichai added.
