Thermaltake SlimX3

Suitable for socket 1150 and Core i7/Core i5/Core i3/Pentium/Celeron processors only. as the most modern. For processors from AMD, this model is not suitable.

It has rather small dimensions, which will allow installing this cooler in compact cases, and will not interfere with air circulation in large ones. Easy to install, copes well with the heat dissipation of modern mid-range processors. But I wouldn’t recommend it for overclocking systems and top-of-the-line i7 processors, since the small size and miniature design still impose their limitations on the performance of the cooler. But it is practically inaudible at low and medium speeds, since the lower limit of the noise level is only 20 dB.

Zalman CNPS7000C-ALCu

This model is suitable for both Intel and AMD processors due to its compatibility with a huge number of different sockets. However, due to its rather large size, the Zalman cooler may not fit into small cases, and it may also be difficult to install on mATX and Mini ITX form factor motherboards, as it can block the RAM or video card slots, which will make them installation is impossible. Therefore, you should think over and double-check everything several times before making the final choice.

The cooler turned out to be quite successful, despite the impressive weight of almost half a kilogram. The bulk of the mass is concentrated at the base in order to more efficiently remove heat from the processor. At the same time, the lower threshold of the noise level is 17 dB, which is very comfortable, because the sound of the fan will not irritate when working at a computer. The kit includes thermal paste and various substrates for AMD and Intel, this must be taken into account during installation. Deepcool ICEEDGE MINI FS

Compatible with both AMD and Intel processors. However, the vertical design can be a hindrance when installed in HTPC cases or just compact boxes. It is 3-pin, which does not allow the motherboard to control the speed of the cooler, so the noise level is fixed at 25 dB. To some, this may seem too high an indicator, and he will be right. In addition, after several days of operation, the mechanism comes into its operating mode and becomes a little loose, which can lead to noise and vibration. However, for especially sophisticated enthusiasts, it is possible to independently replace the cooler with another, quieter one.

Despite the disadvantage of uncontrolled speed and possible noise, ICEEDGE MINI FS deserves attention due to its low price and reasonable cooling capacity. I also want to warn you that when installed on AMD processors, the mount is very tight, be careful.

Zalman CNPS10X Optima

Compatible with modern Intel and AMD processors. It has impressive dimensions, you need to take this into account when assembling a computer and immediately prepare a spacious case, otherwise the lid simply may not close. The design includes 4 copper tubes, which increases performance. It can be installed even on top processors, the cooler can handle it.

The noise level depends on the fan speed, which in turn is controlled by the motherboard. The volume varies from 17 to 28 dB, that is, at low and medium load, the cooler will work quite quietly. It is possible to install a second fan, although even one is able to cope with top-end i7 processors, but if you plan to overclock, then such an opportunity to upgrade the cooler is not often provided. Be careful when installing, you can cut yourself on the heatsink blades, and if you over tighten the fasteners, you can damage the motherboard if you overdo it.
