Notes

Note 1: Socket A processors use a front side bus with a double data rate ( double data rate, DDR ), which implies doubling the data transfer rate in one physical cycle, due to reading commands and data not only on the front, but also on the fall of the clock signal. Socket A semprons use a 166 MHz FSB, resulting in a throughput of 333 MT/s. The multipliers in the tables above operate on 166 MHz physical clock speed, IS NOT true baud rate.

Note 2: For traditional processors, including Socket A Semprons, the multiplier is the value by which the FSB speed is multiplied to get the processor clock speed. Socket 754, 939, and S1 processors use a memory controller integrated with the CPU die, replacing the traditional concept of FSB.

The memory controller operates at the same frequency as the CPU itself and can access system memory at 200 MHz (using the PC-3200 memory sticks in 754 and 939, PC2-5300 for S1) or lower speeds (using the slower PC-1600, PC-2100 or PC-2700).

Between CPU and chipset, HyperTransport is used, running for Semprons at 800 MHz. The 200 MHz system clock is multiplied in this case, not the HyperTransport speed.

Note 3: The CPU model number can be read directly from the OPN, the fourth to seventh letters represent the CPU model number. Model number «200U» is used for embedded system products only.
