BenQ XL2411Z vs. ASUS VG248QE -One Computer Guy

So you are shopping for a monitor, and which one is better, the BenQ XL2411Z or ASUS VG248QE? When you are trying to pick out a monitor, there are just so many things to look at that it can get confusing.

These two monitors often get compared because they are used by the same kinds of people for the same kinds of things. However, they aren’t the same. You need to think through some different aspects of each before you make a final decision.

We will try to break them down and help you choose which one is the best option for you. Let’s start by comparing just the specs:

Monitor Name BenQ XL2411Z ASUS VG248QE

An Overview

The main difference between BenQ XL2411Z and ASUS VG248QE is, BenQ has been discontinued by manufacturers, so it’s a matter of availability.

As mentioned above, the BenQ XL2411Zand ASUS VG248QE are both very similar.

You can see on the chart above that they both have 1080p resolutions, 144hz refresh rates, 1ms response times, and they both use the same panel.

However, this actually makes it much easier to choose between the two options. You need to focus not on the similarities, but on the differences. This is where you will determine whether or not the monitor is for you.

At the end of the day, we believe that the BenQ monitor is going to be the superior option for most people, but both are actually really great choices. They can both be a little difficult to get, so you may just need to choose which one is available or if one is on sale.

The BenQ has actually been discontinued by manufacturers (not because it wasn’t good, but because it was updated), so you may have a harder time getting that one. Even so, it is still available on certain websites and is available for resale on some sites, so you can get it.

Overall Design

When making a comparison between any monitors, the overall design is probably going to be one of the biggest decision-makers. Now, whether or not the design of a monitor tends to be subjective in most cases. The best thing you can do is go online and look at images of the two monitors to determine which one you prefer. There are some limitations to what you can see online, however.

The ASUS VG248QE has a glossy finish that I really like looking at when it is sitting there. However, you should know that if you have kids, dogs, or you are going to move your monitor around a lot, it is prone to get scratches.

You can buy a protective coating, but that needs to be replenished every so often. The ASUS just looks a bit more expensive and has a premium feel to it, but you will have to pay to keep it that way.

That isn’t to say that the BenQ design isn’t serviceable. It is fine, it just tends to look a little cheaper. It also shows fingerprints more and won’t clean up as nicely over time.

The picture is the most important part of the monitor experience, and the specs are similar for that. You are able to adjust the settings so that you can get the picture just how you want it. Right out of the box, both monitors have the standard settings, but you can change them however you want. You can either use the guide in the user manuals or look online to adjust your own settings easily.

One thing to note is that the BenQ monitor does have something called “flicker free” technology. This helps to prevent flickering or quickly shifts in the tone. It is good for people who spend a lot of time on their computers, those who get eye strain easily, and those who suffer from headaches.

According to the reviews that we’ve been able to read, both monitors stand up to the tests of time and continue working long after your warranty runs out.

BenQ XL2411Z vs. ASUS VG248QE: The Tech

When you look at the technology behind both the BenQ XL2411Z and the ASUS VG248QE, you know that they are very similar. You can expect them to perform in the same ways.

They both have a 1080p resolution, 144hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and use the same TN panel.

These stats are why so many gamers choose to look at these two options, especially those who like to play faster games. However, this particular TN panel is known for picture quality that isn’t up to par in many cases.

There are better options than both of these monitors when it comes to the tech, but you are going to pay more for them. If you are looking for something that is at the lower end of the spectrum in terms of price, these two are great. You will just have to do all that you can to ensure the picture quality stays stable.

As far as the connections go, the ASUS VG248QE has HDMI, DisplayPort, and Dual-link DVI-D connections. The BenQ XL2411Z does not have a DisplayPort connection. Whether or not you need the DisplayPort depends on what you do on your computer and how often you are going to use it.

DisplayPort is a pretty standard offering now, and it will prove to be even more important into the future. If you plan to use this monitor for a long time, especially for gaming, this is something to consider. If you are building your own system and want to use a newer graphics card, you will absolutely need a DisplayPort.

BenQ XL2411Z and ASUS VG248QE: Can They Be Improved?

If you are going to buy one of these monitors, there are a few different things that you will need to look at – the first being the connections. The connectors both seem to have some problems. You will need to ensure that the wires are not bent at all and that there isn’t any pressure on the cords, or they will fall out or eventually stop working.

If I would buy one of these for my main computer, I wouldn’t use the wires that come with these monitors. I would replace them with higher quality options.

Pricing

As far as price goes, they are usually both around similar prices. Like mentioned above, the ASUS tends to go on a sale a bit more often and you can sometimes even find “coupons” or codes on Amazon.

If they are both around the same price, I would go with the BenQ due to the flicker free tech. If one is significantly cheaper than the other, I’d pick the cheaper one.

Wrapping Up

Overall, it is really difficult to determine a better option between the BenQ XL2411Z and the ASUS VG248QE. They are really just so similar that it can be hard to find a real reason to pick one over the other. You should continue your search if you are looking for a monitor that has a really great picture. If the picture quality is something that you are willing to deal with, both are decent options for you.

Refresh rates determine how well a monitor can handle motion — the higher the refresh rate, the better.

Most gaming monitors have a refresh rate ranging from 75 Hz to 360 Hz.

Refresh rate is the number of times a display can redraw the screen. Refresh rate is measured in hertz (Hz), which is defined as one cycle per second. For example, a refresh rate of 60 Hz means the screen will redraw 60 times each second.

What Is a Good Refresh Rate for Gaming?

An optimal refresh rate for gaming is around 120 Hz to 165 Hz or above. Refresh rates in this range will reduce motion blur and make animations smoother. The downside to higher refresh rates is that it takes a higher-end graphics card to reach a faster framerate to take advantage of a faster refresh rate. For example, for a 120 Hz display, you will only get the whole experience if your graphics card can produce a framerate of 120 fps. It’s still usable under 120 fps, but it won’t be as smooth during fast movements.

Response Time: VG248QG vs. Zowie XL2411K

  • The Asus 24″ VG248QG has a refresh rate of 0. 5 ms, which is excellent for gaming.

  • The BenQ 24″ Zowie XL2411K has a refresh rate of 1 ms, which is excellent for gaming.

  • Overall, the Asus 24″ VG248QG has a better response time when compared to the 24″ Zowie XL2411K.

Response time also determines how well a monitor can handle motion — the lower the response time, the better. Typical gaming monitors usually have a response time of 1 to 6 ms.

Response time is the time it takes a display to change from one color to another. This timing is usually determined by going back and forth between white and black. The timing is measured in milliseconds, with lower being better.

You’ll notice more ghosting if your monitor has a higher response time. When ghosting occurs, it looks like the colors are blurring together whenever there’s quick movement on the screen.

What Is a Good Response Time for Gaming?

Try to get a monitor with a 1 ms response time for best results. Monitors with a slightly higher response time (e.g., 5 ms) can still make for a great gaming monitor if you don’t mind some minor ghosting.

Some monitors are not capable of both being set to their highest refresh rate and achieving their fastest response time. Check the monitor specs to determine what it supports.

Resolution: VG248QG vs. Zowie XL2411K

  • The Asus 24″ VG248QG and BenQ 24″ Zowie XL2411K monitors both have a resolution of 1920 x 1080, which is good for gaming.

The amount of detail and image crispness is based on the resolution, but a bigger screen allows you to see it at a more comfortable size. The types of game details can include textures, user interface elements, and text quality.

For example, a 27-inch monitor’s resolution of 1440p (3440 x 1440) picture will look a lot more crisp compared to 1080p (1920 x 1080) resolution. The numbers in the resolution stand for the number of pixels per line. So a 1920 x 1080 resolution monitor would have over 2 million pixels total.

Color Capability: VG248QG vs. Zowie XL2411K

  • The Asus 24″ VG248QG and BenQ 24″ Zowie XL2411K monitors have a similar color gamut, both of which are good for gaming.

  • The Asus 24″ VG248QG monitor has a 72% NTSC color gamut, which is good for gaming.

  • The BenQ 24″ Zowie XL2411K monitor has a 98% SRGB color gamut, which is good for gaming.

  • Overall, the BenQ 24″ Zowie XL2411K has a better color gamut when compared to the 24″ VG248QG.

Color Gamut is the color range that is produced on a display. The higher/wider the color gamut, the more colors the monitor can display.

Determining what is most important when choosing a monitor depends on which color space (DCI-P3, sRGB, or NTSC) you usually use. It’s best to select a monitor with a wide range of colors; the higher percentage, the better. The DCI-P3 color space is the most popular and has the widest range of colors.

The computer and component manufacturer explained the problems with deliveries to the Russian market

Photo: Ethan Miller / Getty Images

The Taiwanese manufacturer of electronics, computers and components ASUS announced the difficulties with deliveries to Russia due to problems caused by global sanctions imposed against the country . This is stated in a letter from the company received by RBC.

“ASUS always follows international regulations and this situation has caused serious problems throughout the supply chain, logistics and banking services, and has led to the fact that deliveries to the Russian market are now practically frozen,” the letter says.

www.adv.rbc.ru

The company expressed its regret over the growing humanitarian crisis in Ukraine and said that they are providing assistance to all employees and their families who find themselves in “its epicenter”. “ASUS will also provide funds in the amount of NT$30 million (a little over $1 million) to the relief fund. We hope for a speedy restoration of peace and the timely provision of humanitarian assistance to all those who are in trouble,” the message says.

Earlier, Reuters, citing the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine Mikhail Fedorov, reported that ASUS will begin to export staff and stop business in Russia. At the same time, Taiwan’s Economy Minister Wang Mei-hua declined to comment on this statement to Reuters, but noted that her government had taken measures against Russia.

ASUSTeK Computer, which owns the ASUS brand, did not respond to requests for comment from the agency.

Many other manufacturers of computer equipment and components have also announced their withdrawal from Russia. In particular, on March 6, IBM, whose Moscow office was founded in 1974, announced the termination of technology supplies to Russia. Dell announced the suspension of sales in Russia and Ukraine on February 26.

Adobe, Microsoft, software manufacturer EPAM Systems, and communications equipment manufacturer Cisco have announced their withdrawal from Russia. Apple, Oracle, Autodesk, Boeing, ExxonMobil, Shell, BP, Walt Disney and other companies have decided to suspend or restrict work in Russia, including retail chains, car manufacturers, food and household chemicals, services and manufacturers of electronic games.

Pablo Escobar’s brother also released a flexible smartphone / Sudo Null IT News

It’s just a theater. The brother of the richest drug lord, whose rats in his walls ate $ 2.1 billion a year, will now sell smartphones, competing with Samsung and Apple. Moreover, his first device, Escobar Fold 1, released a day ago, costs $350 and in some ways looks better than the last disastrous Galaxy Fold.

The new Fold 1 is the brainchild of Roberto de Jesus Escobar, Pablo’s brother and former accountant. He was a co-founder of the Medellin Cartel, which was responsible for more than 80% of drug trafficking in the United States. Pablo was shot dead by commandos in 1993, and his legacy is still being raked in Colombia. For example, after his death, tame hippos escaped and filled the surrounding rivers, causing a localized crisis.

Two acrobat brothers

But Roberto Escobar got off easy. He was caught and put in jail for ten years. He left in 2004, and in 2014 founded Escobar Inc, a company mainly engaged in patent trolling. For example, he demanded $ 1 billion from Netflix for a story about him and his brother in the series Narcos. And in July 2019th accused Elon Musk of copying his design for the Non-flamethrower.

Finally, on December 2, the drug lord’s former accountant presented his first gadget of his own. Fold 1 is a foldable Android 9 smartphone with a Snapdragon 8150 processor, 6/8 GB of RAM and two 16 and 20 MP cameras. A rather large device includes two 7.8-inch AMOLED screens. Dimensions — 13.4 x 19 x 0.76 centimeters, weight — 320 grams.

This is how to present a smartphone, oh suckers!

Escobar’s website states that the product is available for markets around the world, but mainly for the US. Comes with a free case. So far, only 100,000 pieces have been produced.

Answering journalists’ questions, Roberto Escobar said that he considers his main competitor not even Samsung, which released a similar device. Its main enemy is Apple.

Samsung’s smartphone breaks, mine doesn’t. They made a mistake with the glass screen. I have a special plastic, and still a good resolution. Our plastic won’t break that easily.

I’ve said many times that I can beat Apple and I will. I removed retail chains, I sell directly, my phone costs several times cheaper.

They are crooks and I will sue them. They scam people and sell useless phones at an inflated price. My lawyers have been ready for a long time, but before I sue them, I wanted to show people what phones can be produced and how this can be done. On January 6, 2020, I will file a $30 billion lawsuit against Apple in California. I want them to give some of their illegal profits back to the people. I will personally check it out. I spent over $1 million on lawyers alone to start this process.

The girl on the left is not happy

Roberto also says that security is a big deal with his smartphone:

The foldable screen is good, but we also have special protection.
