Software and workloads used in performance tests may have been optimized for performance only on Intel® microprocessors. Performance tests, such as SYSmark* and MobileMark*, are measured using specific computer systems, components, software, operations and functions. Any change to any of those factors may cause the results to vary. You should consult other information and performance tests to assist you in fully evaluating your contemplated purchases, including the performance of that product when combined with other products. For more complete information about performance and benchmark results, visit http://www. intel.com/benchmarks.

1Overwatch* + Twitch* + Record Workload: measures average frame-rate (FPS) on Overwatch* while broadcasting to Twitch* + recording using OBS on a secondary monitor.

23DMark* is a benchmark from Futuremark* that measures DX* 9 / OpenGL* ES 2.0, DX 10 and DX 11 gaming performance. There are three main tests:  «Ice Storm» for DX 9 / OpenGL ES 2.0, «Cloud Gate» for DX 10, «Sky Diver» for DX11 and «Fire Strike» for DX 11 graphics. Reported metrics: Graphics Score (GPU), Physics Score (CPU), Combined Score (GPU & CPU) and an overall 3DMark Score (higher is better for all Scores). Scaling efficiencies: graphics tests are GPU dominant, sensitive to graphics and CPU frequency, core count and memory. OS support: Desktop Windows*, Android*, iOS* and Windows* RT.

Expanded range of BOX versions of Intel Kaby Lake processors available in German retail

Edition

Hardware news Sozi

The price of new products starts from over 200 euros and ends at more than 400 euros.

Despite the fact that the Intel Kaby Lake family of desktop processors have not yet been officially presented, and this will take place only in early January, they can be purchased now. And this is not surprising, because very often, just before the release of new processors, computer system assemblers sell off surpluses in an attempt to earn more.

Usually these early sales go through online auctions like eBay and Kaby Lake processors are no exception, but in Germany you can already buy new items through regular online stores. And the range of new products available for purchase is growing. Remarkably, versions of processors in retail packaging (BOX versions) have already appeared on sale in Germany. Usually, before the official release, processors are sold only in bulk (Tray versions), and this is due to the fact that such processors «leak» retail from OEM channels.

Boxed versions of the Kaby Lake generation Intel Core i5 and Core i7 processors are currently on sale. It is important to note that the stores promise to ship the ordered processor immediately, and not just make a pre-order for it. Below is a complete list of currently available new products with their current retail prices:

  • Intel Core i5-7400 (BX80677I57400), 4 cores, 4 threads, 3.0/3.5 GHz — 215 euros;
  • Intel Core i5-7500 (BX80677I57500), 4 cores, 4 threads, 3.4/3.8 GHz — 229Euro;
  • Intel Core i5-7600 (BX80677I57600), 4 cores, 4 threads, 3.5/4.1 GHz — 259 euros;
  • Intel Core i5-7600K (BX80677I57600K), 4 cores, 4 threads, 3. 8/4.2 GHz, unlocked — 279 euros;
  • Intel Core i7-7700 (BX80677I77700), 4 cores, 8 threads, 3.6/4.2 GHz — 359 euros;
  • Intel Core i7-7700K (BX80677I77700K), 4 cores, 8 threads, 4.2/4.5 GHz, unlocked €425.

Processor from China Intel Core i7 7700

I continue to develop my PC.
I will compare the performance difference of 1050ti on i3 and i7.

Technology development does not stand still and I decided to upgrade to a multi-threaded processor.
The first step was choosing a platform. from 1150 it was planned to switch to modern 1151.
i5 or i7? Plans include shooting from a drone and editing video.
i3 was enough for me to play for the PC, but the editing made me sad, for too long. Walk, so walk. The choice fell on the i7 7700.
Why not version K? I decided that I would not use overclocking.
In the store I saw that the processors were delivered at an adequate price and decided to buy.

The parcel went by mail of Ayzerbajan, I appreciated this postal service, fast, I decided to choose again.
Received a regular postal package, inside there is a blister with a processor.

Comparison of old and new iron visually

HDD and SSD were not replaced, connected from the old system. Windows did not change. After starting, the OS lowered itself and loaded the entire set of drivers. Windows recognized the processor without any problems.

Considering TDP 65w, I installed what was free for cooling: DEEPCOOL Theta 16 pwm
At idle, the temperature is about 40 degrees.
(About? It’s hard to choose the exact value, in Core Temp the numbers on the cores constantly jump ± 2 gr. )

Run the stress test from AIDA64 to check the endurance of CO.

Not bad, SO is doing well.

I think that the software for my tests is outdated and does not know about the “fresh” processor

Please note that only one memory bar is installed. The second one is planned.

It’s strange, in synthetics the new CPU dominates the old i3, but in games not everything is so sweet.

Watch Dogs 2 did not download, now I understand that in vain. I’ll add it to the comparison after the weekend.

Is the processor chasing? Yes, I chose the performance mode in the BIOS and the motherboard raised the voltage on the processor to 1.34v.
I consider this extreme overclocking. During testing, the temperature rose to 100 gr.
I did not pay attention to the frequency, I watched the temperature. (4.07 GHz seems to be when the default is 4.0 with Hyper-threading enabled)
Ran only one test and turned off overclocking.

I do not exclude that I need to reinstall the OS on a new system, but I will do it later.
Satisfied with performance. In WoT, with full set of mods on i3, fps sometimes sank to 45, at settings close to maximum. On the new one, I unscrewed everything that is possible and the FPS does not fall below 70. The game has become much smoother.

Price? It’s not hard to google and see.
