There are a growing number of handheld gaming PCs on the market, and the list keeps growing. While Valve’s Steam Deck grabs a lot of headlines these days, it’s not exactly the only game in town.

In fact, there are so many different models available or set to launch in the coming year that it can be hard to keep them all straight. So I figured it was time to put everything in one place. The table below has all the current and next-gen handheld gaming PCs I’m aware of, along with many of the key specs for each.

From top left: AYA Neo Air, Steam Deck, GPD Win Max 2, AYN Loki Mini, ONEXPLAYER AMD, Asus ROG Ally AYA Neo 2, Anbernic Win600

That includes new and upcoming models from GPD, One Netbook (ONEXPLAYER), Anbernic, and AYA and AYN. Those last two companies have been working furiously to one up each other by furiously adding new models to cover a wide range of price points and are a big part of the reason why I realized that simply updating my old comparison table was a fool’s game, because there was no way to fit everything on one page anymore.

Some of the new handhelds are priced as low as $239, while others sell for well over $1,000. Some have big screens and others have smaller ones. A few models have keyboards, while most do not. And there are some big differences when it comes to processors, graphics, memory, and storage, among other things.

You can right-click on any column to sort the table by, for example, screen size, screen resolution, memory, price, or other features. Keep in mind that some items are a little less conducive to sorting, and some specs are still unknown for certain handhelds. But I’ll update the document as more details are revealed (and as more devices are announced).

Comparison of laptop and home PC

So, what is a laptop? This is a portable laptop. Perhaps all the components of a home computer are combined in its case, as well as a display, keyboard, pointing device (touchpad or touchpad), and a disk drive. Batteries are also an integral part of the laptop, allowing it to work autonomously for quite a long time — from 3 to 8 hours.

What are the main advantages of a laptop over a personal computer? First of all, these are its dimensions and relatively low weight. You can take it with you anywhere: to the country house, on a business trip, on vacation. Unlike a computer, moving which, even to the next room, is a big problem, let alone long distances.

No external devices need to be connected to operate it. The laptop includes almost all the components of a home computer, to which they are all connected separately.
One of the most significant advantages of a laptop is the ability to work offline. The presence of a rechargeable battery allows it to work where electricity is not available: whether on a train, on an airplane, in a car, or just on the street. A computer, on the other hand, usually cannot work autonomously, and if it can, then a short time is enough and always with an uninterruptible power supply.

Almost all laptops are equipped with a built-in Wi-Fi adapter, which allows them to connect to the Internet wirelessly. Wi-Fi access points are available in many places: in cafes, entertainment centers, hotels, airports. There are urban Wi-FI networks that allow you to connect to the network in many areas of the city. Desktop computers, with the exception of a few expensive models, are usually not equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter, however, for them this drawback is not so significant.

Now let’s talk about the disadvantages of laptops. Perhaps the most important is its high price. A well-equipped desktop computer, the same price as a laptop, will be several times more productive.
Low performance. Since the laptop is small in size, there is a problem with the cooling system, so the components that are used in it have serious restrictions on heat dissipation, hence the loss of their power. Even the most powerful gaming laptops are no match for high-performance desktops that are designed for resource-intensive tasks such as computer games, graphics work, 3D modeling, and so on. Desknotes, of which there are not so many, cannot fix the situation either, since they have the same heat dissipation limitations as laptops. Therefore, not the most productive components are installed in them.

In a laptop, unlike desktop computers, the possibility of upgrading is, if not impossible, then very limited. Self-replacement of RAM and hard drive is usually possible. Modernization of the video card in laptops is not provided, although there are such models that allow you to do this. In any case, if it is necessary to replace components, it is better to contact qualified specialists. Yes, and in retail versions of processors and video cards for laptops are practically not found.

Compatible with operating systems. Notebook manufacturers rarely support operating systems other than those installed in this model. Also, laptops very often use specific components, as a result of which compatibility problems arise much more often than desktop computers.

Unlike a computer, in a laptop all components, such as display, input device, are integrated with each other. Actually, this is the main advantage of the laptop, but still, the quality and convenience of such components are not very high. For example, there are fewer keys on a keyboard than on a desktop, and their size, especially on netbooks, is quite small and for most users this is very inconvenient. The touchpad, again, is not as comfortable as a mouse. The color gamut of the monitor and its view are also low, which makes it almost impossible to work with graphics, and the small size of the monitor does not allow this.
