Intel Core i3-1005G1 10th Gen Mid-Range Laptop CPU – Laptop Processors
The 10th Generation Intel Core i3-1005G1 is a mid-range processor for mainstream laptops. As opposed to the most popular member of the same 10th Gen “Ice Lake” family – the upper-mid-range i5-1035G1 with four cores, 6MB cache, and a maximal clock speed of 3.6 GHz, the i3-1005G1 is a dual-core processor with 4MB cache and a maximal speed of 3.4 GHz. Both chips have a power consumption of 15 Watts and feature the same Intel UHD (G1) graphics with 32 graphics processing cores.
In comparison to its 8th Gen Intel Core i3-8130U and i3-8145U precursors, the 10th Gen Core i3-1005G1 brings a couple of noticeable improvements. The i3-1005G1 is based on a 10-nanometer production technology that enables generally cooler operation and lower power consumption than the previous 14-nanometer tech of the 8th Gen series. Another big upgrade is the aforementioned Intel UHD graphics with 32 processing cores, which replaces the old Intel UHD 620 with 24 cores. Furthermore, the new chip provides support for faster system memory (RAM), that enables a negligible performance improvement. And, the i3-1005G1 features Intel Deep Learning Boost technology for faster artificial intelligence-based computing.
Another processor related to the i3-1005G1 is the 10 Gen Intel Core i3-10110U. It supports faster RAM as the main difference in comparison to the 8th Gen i3-8130U and i3-8145U, besides higher clock speeds. Therefore, it is only a slight update over the 8th Gen parts and is closer tech-wise to the 8th Gen chips than to the 10th Gen i3-1005G1.
Intel Core i3-1005G1 CPU Benchmark
Benchmark tests indicate the Intel Core i3-1005G1 brings a nice performance boost over the older 8th Gen i3 chips. It also surpasses its 8th Gen Intel Core relatives. For the real world use, it means the i3-1005G1 can handle perfectly well the usual day-to-day computing chores and tasks like web browsing, text and spreadsheet document editing, video playback, and similar. Investing in a laptop with a pricier 10th Gen Core i5 or i7 series makes sense only if you regularly do heavy computing duties like professional video editing or photo editing.
Gaming
The built-in Intel UHD (G1) graphics of the Core i3-1005G1 and Core i5-1035G1 is only a basic graphics solution suitable for only light games and potentially heavier games on low detail settings. But certainly, the new Intel UHD with its 32 graphics cores is faster than the 24-core UHD 620 of the 8th Gen i3 chips.
Note: The benchmark scores of the listed processors are averages measured across various devices with these processors. The scores and real-world performance of the Intel Core i3-1005G1 and compared CPUs may vary depending on the notebooks’ other components, settings, cooling, and other factors. However, the benchmark results are good indicators of the processors’ performance.

The 12th-gen Intel Core i3 is an absolute performance beast
You are here: Home / Chromebooks / Turns out, the 12th-gen Intel Core i3 is an absolute performance monster in Chromebooks
By Robby Payne Leave a Comment
As 12th-gen Intel-powered Chromebooks have finally started trickling in during the second half of 2022, we’ve yet to get our hands on one that actually comes with the more entry-level internal configuration you’re more likely to see in stores. For this current generation of Chromebooks, that usually means a Core i3-1215U processor, 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. So far, our review and hands-on devices for the HP Elite Dragonfly Chromebook, Acer Chromebook Vero 514, and Acer Chromebook Spin 714 have all come equipped with Core i5 or Core i7 processors.
Recently, however, ASUS has sent over the larger-than-average ASUS Chromebook Spin CX5601, the 16-inch behemoth surprisingly unveiled at CES 2022 back in January. The model on sale at Best Buy is the same as we have currently in-hand, sporting the first 12th-gen Core i3 we’ve had in the office with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of NVMe storage. I figured it would be fast. I was shocked at the actual benchmarks.
First, I have to say that I ran benchmarks right away simply because this Chromebook felt so fast right out of the box. Granted, many Chromebooks are fast these days: that’s no real surprise. But my 120hz external monitor pushes devices a bit harder than normal, and right away I could feel the speed on display by the ASUS Flip CX5601. I assumed the Octane and Speedometer 2.0 scores would come back strong, but I had no idea what was about to happen.
If you are keeping score, you likely know that those scores rival (and sometimes beat) 12th-gen Core i5 scores run under the same, logged-out conditions. When compared to the 12th-gen Core i7, we’re not far off, either. Scores we saw on that processor beat out the Core i3 by only 1000-2000 points on Octane and stayed pretty similar with the Speedometer 2.0 benchmark. There were a few times the Core i3 actually beat out the Core i7 in Speedometer, too.
For a Chromebook processor, the 12th-gen Core i3 strikes the perfect balance of cost control and absolute, raw processing power. Where it falls short of the Core i5 and Core i7 is in the GPU category, so you need to remember that fact if you are purchasing a device to eventually play Steam games on or to use a heavier video editor like LumaFusion down the road. The GPU on offer here is fine, but it won’t be nearly as powerful as the Iris Xe graphics included in the Core i5 and i7 variants.
For all other, more-standard Chromebook tasks, however, this 12th-gen Core i3 is an absolute monster. Sure, benchmarks tell part of the story, but just in a few hours of use I can tell you for certain that this thing is crazy-fast. It doesn’t simply feel comparable to its big brothers in the Core i5 and Core i7: it feels like it is on level ground with them.
If you’re looking at Chromebooks and heavy video editing or local Steam games don’t appeal to you, do yourself a favor and opt for the cheaper Core i3 version of any Chromebook you are looking at if it is an option. You’ll lose nothing from a performance standpoint and save yourself some serious cash. Ever since 8th-gen Intel chips arrived in Chromebooks, the Core i3 option has always been a solid option. This time around, for 95% of potential users, they are a no-brainer. And I’m a little blown away.

Intel Core i3-11100 review — CPUAgent 9002
The Core i3-11100 is one of the Intel entry-level Desktop processors. it was released in 2021 with 4 cores and 8 threads. with a base frequency of 3.
8 GHz, a maximum speed of 4.5 GHz and a rated power of 65 W. The Core i3-11100 is based on the Comet Lake Refresh family, 14nm and is part of the Core i3 series.
The Core i3-11100 is also the successor to Intel’s latest generation Core i3-10100 processor, which was based on the Comet Lake process and 14nm and was released in 2020.
In our opinion, the best processors are those that provide outstanding performance at a reasonable price. and Core i3-11100 is fully consistent with this concept.
All of this means that the Intel Core i3-11100 is an absolute beast when it comes to multi-threaded workloads, especially at this price point. Whether you’re looking for video editing or a damn good spreadsheet, you’ll see the performance boost with the Core i3-11100 first hand.
One of the nice things about the Intel Core i3-11100 processors is that boxed retail models come with a CPU cooler. So you can pick up something like the $122 Intel Core i3-11100 and you won’t have to spend extra money on CPU cooling.
The boxed Intel Core i3-11100 processor comes with a traditional pancake cooler. nothing fancy but it gets the job done on this cpu which is rated at 65w tdp. You don’t need to have an aftermarket cooling solution if you don’t want one.
Today’s look at the Intel Core i3-11100 showed that it is a very powerful processor. A processor with 4 cores sounds like it would really be underpowered these days, but we were pleasantly surprised by a fast and very capable system. With just 4 cores, this processor was included for multithreaded workloads, but it performed better than some of its more expensive siblings in lightly threaded workloads, where it shone thanks to its high base clocks.
Bottom line, the Intel Core i3-11100 doesn’t get much media attention as it’s an entry-level 11 Gen processor with a Comet Lake Refresh core, but it’s a very powerful processor that still provides good computing experience for entry-level users.
With the Core i3, Intel continues to innovate with its new architecture and 14nm process technology.
