Colorful announced its most powerful GTX 680 named “iGame GTX680-2G Kudan”. The first “iGame Kudan” graphics card was released last year, and it was a GTX560Ti. Now Colorful uses the design concept on the latest GK104 chip.

Like the first generation, iGame GTX680 Kudan equipped a huge cooler which requires three slots and assembles three fans, one is 90mm, and others are 80mm and with “Shark Bionic” design in order to reduce the noise. Below the triple fans, there are heat-sinks which are crossed by ten 6mm heat-pipes. A 3mm steel plate is covered on the back of the PCB in order to enhance the PCB and improve the heat radiation.

The card is based on Silver Plated Technology of the PCB, and it has 8 phases native VRM, but when you install the Power-kit in the accessories, it will provide extra six phases of VRM. This kind of design draws power from two 8-pin power connectors. The VRM is controlled by an uP6208AM PWM chip, and the modulation range is from 0.1MHz to 1.5MHz.

There are two BIOS chips are built on the main PCB and each of them stores a set of clock. The clocks are controlled by the button on the rear plate. When users press the button, the clock will be boosted to 1059MHz/6008MHz from default clock (1008MHz/6008MHz). However, when you install the extra Power-Kit into the slot on the back of the PCB, the clock will boost to 1110MHz/6208MHz!

With the huge packaging (820mm H X 165mm L X140mm W), there are three sets of accessories provided for user’s customization.

COLORFUL iGame GeForce RTX 3050 Ultra W DUO OC 8G-V review – WebSetNet

Here’s COLORFUL’s own take on the recently released GeForce RTX 3050 family. This is, of course, the iGame GeForce RTX 3050 Ultra W DUO OC 8G-V graphics card. I swear these model names are getting longer every day.

For those not following the industry, the GeForce RTX 3050 is NVIDIA’s latest budget offering with the GA106 GPU, priced at $249, $10 more than the GTX 1660 Super. This 8nm silicon comes with 8GB of VRAM, 2560 shader units, 80 Tensor cores, and 20 RTs, all in a 130W package using a PCIe 4.0 x8 bus interface.

Now our unit is definitely not a reference unit with two 90mm fans and a powerful cooling system. This, in turn, allowed COLORFUL to increase its clock speed to 1822 MHz with the One-Key OC feature.

Disclosure: COLORFUL sent this unit as a return sample for the purposes of this review. The company did not ask me to say anything specific about this. All thoughts and opinions are, of course, my own.

Design, layout and build quality

COLORFUL iGame GeForce RTX 90 Ultra W DUO OC 3050G-V with dual 8mm fans and custom cooling solution is definitely one of the most powerful graphics cards under $300 (in ideal world). Of course, it also looks ethereal with its matte white casing accentuated by color-shifting glossy decals.

The reverse side of the PCB is protected by a metal plate. I love how daring the design is here while keeping it simple. Now, as far as power goes, this is a 130W TDP graphics card, so one 8-pin power connector should be enough.

Communication is excellent — at least for my needs. Here we have one row of ports in a triple DisplayPort configuration and one HDMI configuration. Additional perforations can also be seen here, although this design is a little limited. Finally, there’s the One-Key OC button, allowing the GPU’s clock speed to run at 1822MHz. Press this button only when the computer is turned off.

The reviewed model is undoubtedly an excellent video card. I love that COLORFUL is moving in a direction that blurs the line between gaming and modern design.

Test setup and methodology

Our test setup is based on measurements taken with CapFrameX and OCCT. It is important to note that we are testing a test unit after warming up with at least 24 hours of uptime. This is done in order to negate the FOTB (fresh out of the box) state of the DUT (device under test), which provides better benchmarking consistency.

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege is a multiplayer first person shooter game developed by Ubisoft Montreal. It runs on the AnvilNext 2.0 engine using DirectX 11 and the Vulkan API.

Rainbow Six is an optimized game capable of scaling well with graphics cards of different price ranges — a requirement for eSports games. The RTX 3050 performed well here compared to the GTX 1660 Super.

Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus is a single player first person shooter developed by 4A Games. It runs on the 4A Engine using the DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 APIs.

Metro Exodus performance is similar on tested cards. I even ran his test a few times to make sure we got accurate results.

Assetto Corsa

Assetto Corsa is a multiplayer racing simulation game developed by Kunos Simulazioni. It runs on its own game engine using the DirectX 11 API.

As for the Assetto Corsa, the GTX 1660 Super actually outpaced the RTX 3050. It’s not much, but it’s a lead nonetheless.

F1 2020

F1 2020 is a multiplayer racing game developed by Codemasters. It runs on Ego Engine 3.0 using the DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 APIs.0003

F1 2020 performance showed the RTX 3050 in the lead — at least in this other well-optimized game.

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker

Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker is a MMORPG developed by Square Enix. It runs on the Crystal Tools engine using the DirectX 11 API.

In Endwalker, the RTX 3050 is only a few frames per second behind the GTX 1660 Super.

Horizon Zero Dawn

Horizon Zero Dawn is a single player adventure game developed by Guerrilla Games. It runs on the Decima engine using the DirectX 12 API.

Horizon Zero Dawn performed well, but again, the performance of the RTX 3050 is nowhere near the GTX 1660 Super here.

Sid Meier Civilization VI

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI is a strategy game developed by Firaxis Games. It runs on its own game engine using the DX11 and DX12 APIs.

Civilization VI remains an intense yet unoptimized game. Both graphics cards could play this game at 1440P with over 60fps.

Total War: Three Kingdoms

Total War: Three Kingdoms is a strategy game developed by Creative Assembly. It runs on the same WarScape engine using the DirectX 11 API.

Another intense game, Total War: Three Kingdoms, ate both graphics cards in the Battle test scenario.

updraft

Temperature measured in degrees Celsius (ºC) in standby and under load. This is done with OCCT and its built-in 3D stress test. The readings are then taken from the GPU temperature sensor.

Temperature output is pretty decent. This means that we have a large headroom for further overclocking. Should also help with manual fan profiles. We barely reached 40% fan speed under load.

Power

Power is measured in watts (W) when the system is idle and under load. This is done with OCCT and its built-in 3D stress test. The readings are then taken from the GPU power sensor.

Now the efficiency is excellent. Roughly the same with the GXT 1660 Super, which is 5W more efficient based on its TDP.

Noise

The sound pressure level is measured in decibels (dBA) when the system is idle and under load. This is done with OCCT and its built-in 3D stress test. Then the readings are taken using UMIK-1 through electronic warfare.

We got really good noise levels, just don’t turn the fan up to max — it goes up to 61.5 dBA when it runs at full speed.

Software, lighting and special features

COLORFUL iGame GeForce RTX 3050 Ultra W DUO OC 8G-V comes bundled — compatible with downloadable iGame Center. This is a cheeky looking AIO software for various COLORFUL graphics cards and motherboards.

The software comes with many features. This includes a built-in system monitoring tool. Of course, you can also change the card’s power target, voltage, clock speed, and even fan speed — without pressing the One-Key OC button.

Lighting is also set here. You will not see anything supernatural here.

The proprietary GPU monitoring software is extensive and doesn’t look confusing compared to another brand’s implementation.

Lighting effects are simple. You only get one small LED backlight, so that’s a physical limitation. To be honest, I don’t care about lighting, but for minimalists like me, this is a great feature.

GPU features now set this card apart from the rest. Sub-branded as RTX, the iGame GeForce RTX 3050 can take advantage of everything the RTX family has to offer. This includes support for ray tracing and advanced AI features such as DLSS, DLDSR, and the Nvidia Broadcast app among many others.

Conclusion

To be completely honest, if you have a GeForce GTX 1660 Super, you have no reason to upgrade to an RTX 3050. In terms of graphics performance, they are head to head — of course, with a slight advantage given RTX 3050. But, if the idea of using built-in RTX and AI functionality through Tensor and RT cores is what you’re after, then it’s really worth considering, especially if you’re using a lower graphics card.

In terms of power, this is one efficient card — not that much different from the GTX 1660 Super, which according to the article is 5W more efficient. The temperature output is also excellent, which is mainly due to the powerful cooler and two 90mm fans. It’s also completely silent if you can keep it below 50°C. It won’t even reach 40% fan speed when the GPU is fully loaded, so there’s plenty of room to spare if you’re going to be installing it in cramped cases or if you want to get busy. manual acceleration.
